Jr. High / Middle School Football

Defently, it has helped us, our middle schools have almost become like our development league where they grow before they get here

Here's why I ask:  The pro's are - 1. Get the kids use to playing for their school, and 2. Gives a chance for bigger kids to play who otherwise wouldn't get to play pop-warner due to size.  The con is,  not as many games, not as many opponents.

Well for Columbia high being a 7a school this is only wau they would get to play, the combined middle schools and high school only for 1-4a

One other thing I left out - middle school ball is governed by FHSAA.   I wonder if they would let the kids have a conference vs conference bowl game at year end?  Like our winner vs the winner of your conference?

I think you can but most middle schools don't have resources for a extra game so they don't play

That I can understand.  But at the same time, how much more does it take to fund a middle school program compared to a PAL or Pop Warner or other leagues that have playoffs?

Pop warner is a association that is funded well and low expense but middle school surprisingly cost more to do

Only the privates field those teams down here in South Florida. In Broward, I think many public middle schools will offer flag football (or at least some do) but that's it.

Private school league for Broward and parts of Palm Beach County is the Gold Coast League with Calvary, AHP, AHD, St. Andrew's, Henderson School (part of the FAU network), Pine Crest Boca, Pine Crest Ft Lauderdale, North Broward Prep, St. Jude, St. Joan and Spanish River.

The rest of the privates/charters don't play in a conference, as far as Broward goes. Sub-varsity teams are limited to eight games (middle school, freshman and JV must abide by that rule).

And then the Sunshine State Athletic Conference covers some of Palm Beach County and Central Florida (other parts too maybe?) and has at least middle school football.
