They just beat a top Tennessee team by 2 scores. Manatee has a long trip up. They returned a lot of their team and have speed to burn.

Could be a contender for the Bama title. Manatee hasn't shown up in big games the last few years but have a good preseason win under their belt.

Gonna be interesting

Yeah Hewitt-Trussville is a tough team.  Think they are a top 5-10 Bama team.   Manatee better bring their A game.

I have read up on them a little bit and they're currently ranked #6 in Alabama's class 7a, beat that Tennessee team 33-24 last week. Canes will be ready to go, they're currently on the road right know on their way up

as a manatee alum, this is a disgrace. no reason to ever score 50+ and loose. how do you give up 70+?!!!? I don't even know what to say. who said after last week they liked like they were in mid season form? the defense is terribly coached and someone needs to be fired.

well that falls on the defensive coordinator, giving up 78 points is downright embarrassing I don't care who you're playing, I could tell by that Armwood game last week that the defensive secondary was really bad.

i got one question to ask in the words of a befuddled coach at half time in the 6a 2001 state game: "Where the D at?" That question applies to both teams. Only Apopka/Cypress Bay or University School/Trinity Catholic come close.

My question is, how do you not make the changes to stop the scoring at will?

There's comes a time when you start putting some fresh feet in that game and ask someone anyone to make a play!

The secondary is terrible and always has been a weak area for Manatee teams.

No reason to give up over 600 yards of offense.

well I think you said it best as previously mentioned, somebody needs to be fired. Another thing I want to add is why do they keep going out of state to play these games? They never win out of state anymore, your basically asking to start 0-1 every year

This game reminded me of the Apopka game from a couple years ago. HT was able to do whatever they wanted and we failed to adjust. I noticed against Armwood that when they committed to run the ball, they did so at will. Manatee has an outstanding offense, and that will be enough to win their district, but if they can't stop the run and pressure the QB they will make an early exit from the playoffs.

That said, HT has the best high school offense I have seen in a very long time. They executed to perfection. Their offensive line is very big and moved well. They have outstanding talent all over the field. The QB is excellent. The way they executed reminded me of Aquinas. Very well coached on that side of the ball.

That they did, Manatee's offense looked great as well for the moments I watched.   Didn't watch much in the second half as that is where things got out of hand.
