Team previews

Josh when are all of the team previews going to be out ? Season starts tomorrow, they won't be needed much longer as they'll start playing games and we can figure it out on our own. By my count 18 of the 78 who turned in questionnaires have been done.

Donut - Simply, put it I flat ran out of time. I had two writers bail on me at the last second when we were starting this and it put me in a bind that I tried to make work, but with a lot going on and having four interns trying to do as much I can possibly ask from them it was a struggle that I truly felt was no one's business except internally with the team.  My stack of teams went from about 15 teams to 40 teams of the ones that sent something in and that was on top other things I had to do to get the site ready for the season and work on other details of the site that people don't realize I do including like backend work. 

It the end, I am simply at fault for this and I realize that in order to do something like I want it I need to make some changes and likely start in late May not early July with some of this. My other problem is I hate collecting info in February and March on teams because, by the time spring ball is done, it could be all wrong, but that is also another challenge I face in all of this that I have to figure out especially with more looming changes to the transfer rules.

 

If there is one positive I can take from this, the Helmet Challenge proved to be a winner and that will continue on. Next year we may just look at expanding the district projections into team preview capsules. However, some of this is going to take sponsorship money to do. I don't do this free nor can anyone else do it, especially if I place a high demand on them for the quality of content they send over.

 

I apologize for this and hopefully, you will understand where I am coming from and why I had to pull the plug on a couple of things quickly and rather quietly.

Maybe next year reach out to some of the folks here on the board many of these guys have connections and could probably help out with an unbiased preview.
