TOP 25 ANALYSIS – AFTER WEEK 2

THE BIG PICTURE

Robinson and Alonso remain the Tampa Bay region’s top two programs and hold their positions at No. 1 and No. 2 heading into Week 4 — both now 5-0, both with ratings that continue to rank among the very highest in the state. The week’s defining story below the top two is the She Is Football Invitational Tournament in Tampa, held in association with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation at the AdventHealth Training Facility at One Buccaneer Place. Lennard went 3-0 at the tournament to vault two spots to No. 5, while Steinbrenner went 2-2 across their full week and drops nine spots to No. 12. The Capital City Classic also reshuffled the standings: Osceola went 3-0 at the Silver bracket in Tallahassee and jumps 10 spots to No. 3, the week’s largest rise. Land O Lakes went 3-1 at the Gold bracket and moves up two spots to No. 4. Four teams drop out entirely — Haines City, Newsome, Sumner, and Keswick Christian — replaced by Countryside, Palm Harbor University, Tampa Prep, and Lakeland.

No. 1 Robinson — Knights Stay Perfect at 5-0 After Statement Win Over Strawberry Crest

Robinson had one game this week — a 32-6 win over Strawberry Crest on Wednesday — and it was exactly the kind of performance the region’s top program is expected to deliver. The Chargers entered that game at 4-2 with one of the upper-tier schedules in the Tampa Bay region and had been one of the more credentialed programs in the top 25. Robinson beat them by 26 points. The Knights are now 5-0 and have not been seriously challenged in any game this season — their closest result remains the 27-13 win over Lennard in Week 1, which looks better every week as the Longhorns continue to rise in the standings. Robinson is the No. 1 program in the Tampa Bay region, the No. 1 program in the state, and is pursuing their 10th consecutive state championship. Nothing from Week 3 changes any of that.

No. 2 Alonso — Ravens Stay Perfect at 5-0 After Dominant Win Over Bloomingdale

Alonso had one game this week — a 41-0 shutout of Bloomingdale on Tuesday — and holds at No. 2 with their rating now at 72.89. The Bloomingdale result is more significant than the opponent’s record suggests: the Valrico program carries one of the strongest schedule strength figures in the entire Tampa Bay region, having played Robinson, Alonso, Lennard, and other elite competition through the first three weeks. Alonso held them scoreless by 41. The Ravens are 5-0 with a point differential of plus-97 across five games and their SOS of 28.99 reflects a schedule that has included credible opposition. Robinson and Alonso have now both reached 5-0 and the gap between them and the rest of the Tampa Bay region has not narrowed. When — or whether — those two programs meet will be the defining question of the Tampa Bay region’s regular season.

No. 3 Osceola — Warriors Jump 10 Spots to No. 3 After Going 4-0 Including 3-0 at Capital City Classic Silver

Osceola had the Tampa Bay region’s most productive week — going 4-0 to reach 6-0 and jumping 10 spots to No. 3. The Warriors opened by beating Boca Ciega 6-0 on Tuesday in what was the week’s most anticipated in-region matchup, then traveled to Tallahassee for the Capital City Classic Silver bracket and went 3-0 against Panhandle and North Florida competition. At the Classic the Warriors beat Lincoln 32-26 on Friday before a big Saturday that produced wins over Godby 41-7 and FAMU 39-12. Four games, four wins, including a shutout of the region’s previously unbeaten No. 14 program and three wins against out-of-region opponents at a cross-region tournament. The 6-0 Boca Ciega shutout is the most analytically significant result of Osceola’s week — it directly answered the central question about the Pirates’ standing. Their SOS of 24.57 has grown substantially from the 38.91 they carried last week, reflecting the addition of cross-region Capital City Classic competition.

TOP 25 ANALYSIS – AFTER WEEK 3

THE BIG PICTURE

Miami Edison is the South Florida region’s top-ranked program heading into Week 4, moving up one spot to claim the No. 1 position after going 3-0 in the week’s most demanding gauntlet. The Red Raiders beat Coral Gables 27-6, Everglades 35-0, and Miami Central 41-0 — three games, three wins, and a schedule that now includes results against programs ranked throughout the South Florida standings. Wellington drops one spot to No. 2 despite going 2-0, overtaken by Edison’s larger body of credible work. The week’s most significant storyline beyond the top two is the collapse of Palm Beach Gardens: the Gators went 1-2 against the region’s top competition and drop seven spots to No. 15, the week’s largest fall in the top 25. Doral Academy enters the top 15 at No. 14 after going 1-1, jumping 18 spots from 32nd. Six teams drop out entirely — Boyd Anderson, True North, Pembroke Pines Charter, SLAM, Miami Norland, and Everglades — replaced by Doral Academy, Piper, Coconut Creek, Palm Beach Central, Cypress Bay, and Jupiter.

No. 1 Miami Edison — Red Raiders Go 3-0 in Week’s Toughest Gauntlet to Take the Top Spot

Miami Edison did exactly what the No. 1 ranking requires: they played three games against credible opposition and won all three convincingly. Tuesday brought Coral Gables — a program that had just beaten Homestead and was entering the week 2-0 — and the Red Raiders dispatched them 27-6. Wednesday brought Everglades, a 4-1 program that had beaten three opponents at the Broward County Classic and had been one of the region’s more active early-season programs. Edison won 35-0. Friday brought Miami Central, and the Red Raiders closed the week 41-0. Three games, 103 points scored, six points allowed. Edison is now 6-0 with wins in three consecutive weeks against programs that collectively represent a cross-section of the South Florida standings. Their SOS of 30.94 ranks in the upper-middle tier statewide and reflects a program that has not avoided competition. The Red Raiders are the South Florida region’s top-ranked program and have earned it.

No. 2 Wellington — Wolverines Go 2-0 but Drop One Spot as Edison’s Body of Work Proves Greater

Wellington went 2-0 this week — beating Dr. Joaquin Garcia 18-0 on Wednesday and Dwyer 38-0 on Thursday — and drops one spot despite winning both games. This is what happens when Edison goes 3-0 against more credible competition in the same week: Wellington’s two shutout wins look clean, but the Wolverines are now 3-0 with just three games played compared to Edison’s six. The Dr. Joaquin Garcia win is the more meaningful of the two — the Bulldogs were 12th in these rankings entering the week with an SOS figure ranking 88th statewide, and Wellington held them scoreless. The 18-0 final does not leave ambiguity about who controlled that game. Dwyer was a lower-tier opponent and the 38-0 margin reflects that. Wellington’s SOS of 21.23 ranks in the middle tier statewide. The Wolverines are unbeaten, they are winning convincingly, and they are still the region’s second-ranked program. But Edison has played twice as many games against harder competition, and that gap is now visible in the standings.

No. 3 Seminole Ridge — Hawks Hold at No. 3 Without Playing, Sitting on Six Wins and One Loss

Seminole Ridge did not play this week and holds at No. 3 with their 6-1 record unchanged. After seven games in the first two weeks — including four at the Broward County Girls Flag Football Classic — the Hawks were the region’s most battle-tested program entering Week 3, and their rating of 67.36 reflects that body of work holding steady even without adding results. Their SOS of 36.58 remains one of the strongest marks in the South Florida top 25, reflecting a schedule that has included Spanish River, Boyd Anderson, Stoneman Douglas, Park Vista, Lennard, and Land O’ Lakes. The one loss on their record came against Park Vista — now No. 8 in these rankings at 5-0 — which means that result reads increasingly well as the season progresses. Seminole Ridge is the region’s most credentialed program on a per-game basis, and their place in the top three is not threatened by inactivity.

TOP 15 ANALYSIS – AFTER WEEK 3

THE BIG PICTURE

Celebration remains the undisputed No. 1 program in Central Florida heading into Week 4, going 3-0 this week to reach 6-0 — the only team in the top 15 to hold their position from last week. The biggest story of the week was Celebration’s 12-0 win over West Orange on Tuesday, the region’s most anticipated matchup and a result that settled the top-of-the-table question for now. Harmony and Horizon both took significant hits — Harmony drops five spots to No. 7 after losing to East Bay 33-13 on Saturday, and Horizon slips three spots to No. 6 despite going 2-0, overtaken by programs with stronger weeks. Apopka, New Smyrna Beach, and Spruce Creek all drop out of the top 15 entirely. Atlantic and Orlando Science enter the top 15 as new entries, and Windermere returns after going 1-2 — a complicated reentry. Deltona continues its rise, jumping five more spots to No. 5 at 5-0.

No. 1 Celebration — Storm Go 3-0 Including Statement Win Over West Orange to Hold at the Top

Celebration answered every question asked of them this past week. The Storm beat West Orange 12-0 on Tuesday in the region’s most significant matchup — a head-to-head against the program that had delivered the region’s signature result the week before by beating Timber Creek. Then they beat Ocoee 47-2 on Thursday and closed the week with a 54-0 demolition of Sebring on Friday. Three games, three wins, zero points allowed in two of three. Celebration is 6-0 and has not trailed in a game this season. The 12-0 shutout of West Orange is the most important result produced by any Central Florida program this week — it was not a close game, and West Orange entered it unbeaten and playing some of the best football in the region. Their SOS of 22.98 ranks solidly in the upper tier of all Florida programs. Celebration is the class of Central Florida and nothing from this week changed that

No. 2 Oviedo — Lions Move Up Two Spots to No. 2 at 5-0 After Another Dominant Week

Oviedo went 2-0 this week — beating Winter Springs 27-0 on Tuesday and Boone 27-0 on Thursday — to move to 5-0 and claim the No. 2 spot in the region. The Lions have not allowed a single point in five games this season. Five games, five wins, zero points against — the cleanest defensive record of any program in the Central Florida top 15. The Boone win is the more meaningful of the two: Boone had been one of the more active and competitive programs in the Orlando area through the first two weeks. Oviedo shut them out 27-0. Their SOS of 11.70 reflects competition that is solidly middle-tier across the state. The Lions move up two spots and are now the region’s premier unbeaten program behind Celebration.

No. 3 West Orange — Warriors Move Up Two Spots Despite Loss to Celebration, Go 2-1 on the Week

West Orange had a complicated week — losing to Celebration 12-0 on Tuesday before responding with a 33-6 win over Wekiva on Thursday and a 34-0 shutout of Windermere on Friday. The Celebration loss stings but the response was immediate and convincing. A 33-6 win over Wekiva — a program that had been 4-0 and rising fast in the statewide rankings — is a result that carries genuine weight. The Warriors are 5-1 and move up two spots to No. 3, a reflection of their overall body of work holding up despite the loss. Their SOS of 23.91 remains one of the strongest marks in the top 15. West Orange has the most validated resume of any program below Celebration in the Central Florida region.

TOP 15 ANALYSIS – AFTER WEEK 3

THE BIG PICTURE

Ponte Vedra is the story of the Northeast Florida region heading into Week 4. The Sharks went 5-0 in Week 3 — beating Flagler Palm Coast 28-6 on Monday and Creekside 53-0 on Wednesday before going 3-0 at the Capital City Classic in Tallahassee on Friday and Saturday, beating Chiles 25-6, Pace 26-7, and Land O Lakes 12-7. The Capital City Classic result matters — Chiles was the Panhandle’s No. 3 program, and Ponte Vedra beat them in Tallahassee. That kind of cross-region, out-of-market win on neutral turf is exactly what elevates a resume from impressive to credible statewide. Ponte Vedra moves from No. 3 to No. 1 at 7-0. Clay slips to No. 2 with a 3-0 week at the Clash at the Creek, beating Tocoi Creek, St. Augustine, and Ribault — 47 combined points and another shutout among the three results. Fleming Island tumbles five spots to No. 7 after losing to Bolles 7-0 on Tuesday. Bolles — a first-year program — jumps 13 spots to No. 10 after going 1-1 on the week. Orange Park and St. Augustine make the biggest moves in the bottom half of the table, jumping 12 and 18 spots respectively.

No. 1 Ponte Vedra — Sharks Go 5-0 Including 3-0 at the Capital City Classic to Claim the Top Spot

Ponte Vedra’s week was the most impressive in the Northeast Florida region and arguably one of the most impressive single-week performances in the state. They went 5-0 — beating Flagler Palm Coast 28-6 on Monday, then handling Creekside 53-0 on Wednesday before making the trip to Tallahassee for the Capital City Classic. In the Classic they beat Chiles 25-6 on Friday, then came back Saturday to beat Pace 26-7 and Land O Lakes 12-7. Chiles was the Panhandle’s No. 3 program. Pace was the Panhandle’s No. 5 program. Land O Lakes is a Tampa Bay-area program. A 3-0 showing against out-of-market, out-of-region competition in Tallahassee — on back-to-back days — is a different category of result than anything else produced in Northeast Florida this week. The Sharks are 7-0 and have now beaten programs from four different regions of the state. Their SOS of 21.95 ranks comfortably in the upper tier of all Florida programs. Ponte Vedra is the No. 1 team in Northeast Florida and one of the most compelling early-season stories in the entire state.

No. 2 Clay — Blue Devils Go 3-0 at Clash at the Creek, Shutout Streak Extends

Clay had their busiest week of the season at the Clash at the Creek, playing on both Friday and Saturday and going 3-0 — beating Tocoi Creek 14-0 and St. Augustine 26-0 on Friday, then coming back Saturday to beat Ribault 47-0. The Blue Devils have not allowed a single point in five games this season. They have outscored their opponents 173-0 across five games. Ribault entered the Clash at the Creek at 3-0 and Clay shutout them 47-0. Tocoi Creek was in the regional top 15 going into the week. St. Augustine was No. 13. Clay beat all three with a combined score of 87-0 across two days. Their SOS of 11.81 ranks in the middle tier of all Florida programs, reflecting competition that has been tested but not yet at the very highest level. Three games in two days against three regional opponents and 87 points scored with zero allowed is a statement from a program that is not finished making them.

No. 3 Paxon — Golden Eagles Go 2-0 Including Cross-Region Win Over Bradford to Reach 3-0

Paxon went 2-0 this week to move to 3-0, and the more important of the two wins came first — a 41-12 cross-region result over Bradford on Tuesday. Bradford was North Central Florida’s No. 3 program with the second-toughest schedule in the state entering that game. Paxon beat them by 29 points. That result immediately validated Paxon’s top-five standing in a way that no regional opponent could have. Thursday brought Bishop Snyder 39-0, another shutout that extended what has been a pattern of dominant margins. Paxon has now outscored their three opponents 101-12 across three games. Their SOS of 30.69 ranks firmly in the upper tier of all Florida programs and is the strongest mark in the Northeast Florida top 15 — meaning the system has validated not just their record but the competition level around them. Paxon moves up one spot to No. 3 and has the most credible unbeaten resume in the region.

TOP 10 ANALYSIS – AFTER WEEK 3

THE BIG PICTURE

The Space & Treasure Coast region looks different at the top heading into Week 4. Fort Pierce Central — the region’s No. 1 program for the first three weeks — drops to No. 4 after losing to South Florida’s Park Vista 14-13 on Thursday, their second loss of the season. South Fork moves into the top spot at 6-0 after going 2-0 on the week including a cross-region win over Palm Beach’s Cardinal Newman. Martin County stays at No. 2, also 6-0, after going 3-0 this week with two Saturday wins over Palm Beach-area programs. Jensen Beach moves up one spot to No. 3 at 5-0 after beating Vero Beach 19-0. John Carroll had the region’s busiest week, going 3-0 with wins over Centennial, West Shore, and Indian River Charter to climb to 6-2 and hold at No. 5. The biggest climbers are Viera — up six spots to No. 8 in their first season — and Space Coast, up three to No. 9 and also in their first year of play. Lincoln Park Academy and Vero Beach both dropped out of the top 10.

No. 1 South Fork — Bulldogs Are 6-0 and Claim the Top Spot With Two More Wins Including a Cross-Region Statement

South Fork moves to the top of the Space & Treasure Coast region at 6-0 after going 2-0 in Week 3. On Tuesday they beat Legacy 13-0 to extend their shutout streak before Thursday brought the week’s defining result — a 12-6 win over Cardinal Newman, a Palm Beach region program. South Fork had not been scored on all season before that game, and Cardinal Newman put six on the board — the first points allowed by the Bulldogs all year. They still won, and a road result against an out-of-region program gives their unbeaten record genuine cross-region credibility. South Fork has now scored 190 points and allowed just six across six games. Their SOS of 1.93 reflects competition that the system has not fully validated yet, but six wins including the Cardinal Newman result is a body of work that earned them the top spot.

No. 2 Martin County — Tigers Are 6-0 and Had the Region’s Most Active Week

Martin County went 3-0 this week to move to 6-0 — the region’s most active week of any top 10 program. On Tuesday they beat Lincoln Park Academy 27-0, extending what has been the most dominant defensive performance in the region. On Saturday they beat Suncoast 13-6 and Olympic Heights 22-0 in back-to-back games against Palm Beach-area programs. The Tigers have now scored 124 points and allowed just six across six games — their only blemish in the points-against column coming from the Suncoast game on Saturday. Martin County has beaten both regional opponents and out-of-region Palm Beach competition without losing. Their SOS of 0.84 is modest given the volume of games played, but the body of work — six wins, two out-of-region results, and only six points allowed all season — is the most complete resume in the region.

No. 3 Jensen Beach — Falcons Are 5-0 After Answering the Schedule Question Against Vero Beach

Jensen Beach entered Week 3 with the region’s most persistent question mark — a schedule strength figure that ranked near the bottom of all Florida programs. Thursday’s 19-0 shutout of Vero Beach began to address it. Vero Beach is a regional top 10 program that had beaten Centennial and held their own in their only loss, and Jensen Beach held them scoreless. The Falcons are now 5-0 with 139 points scored and just six allowed across five games. Their SOS of -3.28 still reflects competition that has not fully validated the record, but a shutout of the region’s 10th-ranked program is a more meaningful data point than anything else on their resume to this point. Jensen Beach has answered every question asked of them so far — the schedule will need to keep stepping up for the answers to carry more weight.
