Happy Football New Year and welcome to a fresh edition of The Weekly Kickoff, your inside look at what’s ahead on FloridaHSFootball.com. It’s been a minute since I last published one of these updates, largely due to a packed schedule, but I’m committing to bringing this back each Monday throughout the 2025–2026 school year.

There’s a lot to talk about, so let’s dive in as we head into Year No. 16 of high school football coverage on FloridaHSFootball.com.

IN THIS WEEKLY KICKOFF

The Pivot Toward Video Content

New Regional Setup This Year

Blitz Shows Returning Next Week

Florida Power Rankings Index – Version 2.0

Primers and Content Ideas

Season Ticket Memberships

THE PIVOT TOWARD VIDEO CONTENT

FloridaHSFootball.com is making a strategic pivot toward more video content during the 2025–2026 school year. That doesn’t mean written content is going away — instead, it will become more streamlined and focused around our new regional structure (more on that shortly).

We’ve seen strong growth on our YouTube Channel (@FloridaHSFootball), and we want to build on that momentum. Our YouTube channel will be the primary hub for video and LIVE streaming, and we invite you to subscribe here!

NEW REGIONAL SETUP THIS YEAR

As part of our content refresh, we’re transitioning to eight geographically defined regions across Florida — for both football and flag football — to provide better structure and localize our coverage.

Each piece of content will be titled and tagged by region for easier navigation. Scoreboards will also be consolidated by region, in addition to continuing classification-based scoreboards — all powered by ScoreStream’s live, real-time score updates.

Here are the eight regions and their counties:

Panhandle – Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, Washington

North Central Florida – Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Marion, Sumter, Suwannee, Union

Northeast Florida – Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns

Central Florida – Flagler, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Volusia

Tampa Bay – Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk

Southwest Florida – Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Lee, Manatee, Sarasota

Space & Treasure Coast – Brevard, Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, St. Lucie

South Florida – Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Palm Beach

THE BLITZ SHOWS RETURNING

The Blitz Shows are back next week — now covering all eight regions instead of the previous four-show format. This aligns with our regional setup and helps ensure consistent coverage of both football and girls flag football throughout the school year.

Broadcast Schedule

Tuesdays (South of I-4):

7:00 – 7:35 PM: Southwest Florida Blitz

7:45 – 8:20 PM: Space & Treasure Coast Blitz

8:30 – 9:05 PM: South Florida Blitz

9:15 – 9:50 PM: Tampa Bay Blitz

Wednesdays (North of I-4):

7:00 – 7:35 PM: North Central Blitz

7:45 – 8:20 PM: Northeast Florida Blitz

8:30 – 9:05 PM: Central Florida Blitz

9:15 – 9:50 PM: Panhandle Blitz (8:15–8:50 PM CT)

We’ve developed a fresh graphics package for The Blitz Shows that we think you’re going to love!

FLORIDA POWER RANKINGS INDEX – VERSION 2.0

Coming this week: the debut of FPRI Version 2.0 — a major upgrade from the first version tested during the girls flag football season this spring.

Why Version 2.0?

While Version 1.0 showed promise, some weaknesses appeared during the playoffs — especially around strength of schedule and how much past-season data should influence early-season rankings.

This led us to adopt the Opponent Strength Index (OSI) — a public formula developed by a coach in New Jersey and used by the NJSIAA. I tested OSI extensively — including with IMG Academy National — and the results were fantastic.

How OSI Works:

A win earns 100% of an opponent’s OSI value

A tie earns 75% (though ties are rare)

A loss still earns 50% of the opponent’s value

The OSI fluctuates weekly, and when combined with other proprietary performance metrics, it gives us a deeper, fairer look at team strength.

Importantly, margin of victory is capped at 35 points, aligning with the running clock threshold — so blowouts won’t artificially boost rankings.

What You’ll See:

Top 10 rankings for every classification (Free)

Expanded rankings by classification and region (Premium)

Game forecasts and district projections for all teams (Premium)

Weekly OSI values included in FPRI outputs

We believe this will be Florida’s most accurate, forward-thinking ranking system yet.

PRIMERS AND CONTENT IDEAS

We’ve published a statewide season primer to kick things off, and regional primers are coming soon — featuring both top contenders and sleepers to watch in each region.

Have a story idea or topic you’d love to see? Submit it via DM on X at @FlaHSFootball, Instagram at @floridahsfootball or via email at joshua.wilson@floridahsfootball.com

SEASON TICKET MEMBERSHIPS

If you’re not already subscribed, now’s the time to join our Season Ticket Membership program:

Available Plans

Hello fellow FloridaHSFootball.com loyal followers!

We are back with the second of our new series that keeps FloridaHSFootball.com community of followers updated on what is going on and what we are doing called The Weekly Kickoff.

Going forward usually every Sunday or Monday, I will try to provide some insights of what we are working on and what we are doing here at FloridaHSFootball.com inside The Weekly Kickoff to provide you a picture of how we want to keep you around as a loyal fan and follower and how we can earn your trust or reestablish your trust in us.

As an independent media website, we have to evolve in many different ways and that includes looking at what is working and what is not working and evaluating those things. Sometimes, it requires us to look back on our past to learn how we can move forward into the future. We are not owned by a massive media corporation or conglomerate and have been this way for over over 15 years and we want to keep it going this way for many more years to come.

With that said, we have to be diversified in how we earn revenue which means we have to look at how we earn revenue and look at doing so in multiple ways including through advertising, partnerships, and memberships/subscriptions among other ways we are looking to streamline revenue in an ever-changing and ever challenging world of digital media that we live in.

Inside this edition of The Weekly Kickoff:

Girls Flag Football Coverage

Flag Football Statistics Needed

Football Coverage

Season Ticket Memberships Taking Off

Newsletter for Season Ticket & Premium Season Ticket Members

Partnerships Being Sought

GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL COVERAGE

We kicked off our Girls Flag Football Coverage for the 2025 season last week with our daily Flag Football Final Reports, Weekly Florida Top 25 & Classification rankings, and submitting our first nominees for the Jacksonville Jaguars Girls Flag Football Player of the Week which will be released later this week. Starting today and through every week in the season, we will be releasing a variety of Player of the Week polls for different sections of the state and a statewide poll as well. The polls will be based upon the various statistics we have seen and collected from around the state for the previous week to provide the most accurate information which will include all games for an athlete for that week – win or lose – because it is important to be correct in what we report. Look for those to come later today (Monday) on FloridaHSFootball.com.

New Florida Top 25 and Classification Rankings will be released today as well and be on the lookout for new Flag Football Finals this week which includes score recaps from the Florida Top 25 and Classification Rankings along with potential coverage from a few games this week as well.

FLAG FOOTBALL STATISTICS NEEDED

While we have seen a great amount of teams post their statistics on social media and/or MaxPreps, but we still see a great deal of teams not posting their statistics. We find this critically important with our coverage of flag football as the sport continues to grow and we encourage teams to record their stats and report them in MaxPreps. This helps determine a lot of things across the board, including how we can cover teams. Please report your statistics via MaxPreps each week to help our coverage of Girls Flag Football!

FOOTBALL COVERAGE

With 2025 schedules starting to roll out, we will start to take a look at those schedules and provide analysis on a good majority of these schedules leading up to the start of the 2025 season. We will also report on other things happening in football including coaching changes and other news to report on regarding high school football across the state. If you have a 2025 schedule and have released it, please email Joshua Wilson at joshua.wilson@floridahsfootball.com using “2025 Football Schedule” in the subject line. Be on the look out for this coverage.

SEASON TICKET MEMBERSHIPS TAKING OFF

We are not even a full week that we had our first content, our 2025 All-State Teams be a part of our new Season Ticket Membership offerings which include the standard Season Ticket Membership and the Premium Season Ticket Membership. We had a great week with nearly 40 subscribers committing to the year long membership. We also had a great amount of people select our Unlock 24 Hour Ticket option which unlocks select articles under our Season Ticket and Premium Season Ticket Memberships to be viewed for 24 hours. While this an option for those who are just the occasional fan, we encourage you to look at one of our yearly options as we feel this will be better in the short-term and long-term for fans of high school football and girls flag football in the Sunshine State and you can click here to view our membership levels with the Season Ticket Membership at $39.99 and the Premium Season Ticket Membership $59.99.

NEWSLETTER FOR SEASON TICKET & PREMIUM SEASON TICKET MEMBERS

We will release our first newsletter for Season Ticket & Premium Season Ticket Members today recapping all the stories and articles we have published and include information just for Season Ticket & Premium Season Ticket members that we have not included here in The Weekly Kickoff. Subscribers should whitelist joshua.wilson@floridahsfootball.com or check their Promotions/Newsletter tab in their email client or check their spam folder (just in case it lands there) for the Newsletter for Season Ticket & Premium Season Ticket Members.

CONTENT IDEAS WELCOME

We welcome any new content ideas you might have in mind including story ideas, games we should possibly cover, features and more. If you would like to send over your ideas, send an email to Joshua Wilson at joshua.wilson@floridahsfootball.com using “Content/Story Ideas” in the subject line.

Hello fellow FloridaHSFootball.com loyal followers!

First, welcome to the first of a new series that keeps FloridaHSFootball.com community of followers updated on what is going on and what we are doing called The Weekly Kickoff.

I know it is has been a long while since I have wrote an article about the comings and goings happening here at FloridaHSFootball.com and what is going on but it is time to come to you all and provide some updates to everyone on what is going on.

Going forward usually every Sunday or Monday, I will try to provide some insights of what we are working on and what we are doing here at FlordiaHSFootball.com inside The Weekly Kickoff to provide you a picture of how we want to keep you around as a loyal fan and follower and how we can earn your trust or reestablish your trust in us.

With that said, we have to have be diversified in how we earn revenue which means we have to look at how we earn revenue and look at doing so in multiple ways including through advertising, partnerships, and memberships/subscriptions among other ways we are looking to streamline revenue in an ever-changing and ever challenging world of digital media that we live in.

Inside this edition of The Weekly Kickoff:

FloridaHSFootball.com App Removed

Memberships Returning

All-State Teams Releasing This Week

Content Ideas Welcomed

Girls Flag Football Season Kicking Off

FLORIDAHSFOOTBALL.COM APP REMOVED FROM APP STORES

At the start of the year we asked that the FloridaHSFootball.com App that we launched last year be removed from the app stores on Apple and Google. After some determination, the cost of keeping an app running along with the time it takes for maintenance was not something we could fiscally keep going.

While we hoped to have drawn more people to the app, we realized that people continued to visit the website through their mobile device and through links on social media on their mobile devices. Ultimately this defeated the purpose of the app altogether.

The service used to build the app out also had its limitations which also did not include deep linking which would have allowed users to open up links directly clicked on to the app that was downloaded on their phone. Deep linking is something that is very time consuming and is expensive and as a small business (in the eyes of the IRS, Uncle Sam, Federal Government, etc.), it becomes a cost that actually has a negative impact on us.

As such, after looking at the costs for 2025, we decided the best course of action was to step back from pushing the app and look back upon what we have done best over the years, some which we will look back on here in this article and will paint the picture of what we are doing.

Is it possible for an app to return for FlordiaHSFootball.com? I will never say never, but it has the be right moment, the right opportunity, and basically be the best for FloridaHSFootball.com for short-term and long-term growth in the ever changing pace of digital media.

MEMBERSHIPS RETURNING

With the app gone, one thing we realized is that while we had a small following with our previous subscription/paywall option, we had a form of revenue that had seen some growth before the launch of the app. When launching the app, it forced us to dump the paywall model as Apple in particular would not allow an app to exist with a website that had a paywall model without offering a paywall option on the app directly. It was only after evaluating things heading into 2025 that told us we had actually hurt ourselves by cutting out the paywall after discovering people just were not turning to an app when they already knew how to access FloridaHSFootball.com for the last 15 years.

As such, we are returning back to having a Membership system or otherwise known as a subscription/paywall system. This time however, we are taking a very different approach to it as we are going to take on more of a magazine-style approach on this model. That means we will have two different levels of subscription, both which will be billed annually.

Season Ticket Membership

Description:
The Season Ticket gives you everything you need to stay informed and engaged with Florida high school football and girls flag football. Perfect for fans who love the game and want unlimited access to the best coverage.

ALL-STATE TEAMS RELEASING THIS WEEK

Before we get even deeper in to some of the stuff of looking back on the past and how that will help us move forward, we want to let everyone know that the All-State Teams presented by FloridaHSFootball.com is returning after a one-year hiatus.

I know that last year we did not release All-State teams for the 2023 season and the process had become complicated on top of a variety of issues both personally and with FloridaHSFootball.com. I deeply apologize for this happening and something I live with as lesson in learning things.

However, to not let the same issues keep from having All-State teams again from the 2024 season I went back to the drawing board and had several approaches I wanted to take on, but ultimately kept the selection of all-state teams in house as I reformulated the process, but before we talk about the reformulated process, we need to talk about how people will access the All-State teams.

While in years past the All-State teams have been made free to everyone, we are no longer in a position to provide the All-State teams in a free capacity. This could change in future years if we are to find a sponsor that will pay for the time, effort and research that is placed into creating the All-State Teams. The amount of hours spent and the fact it takes considerable time after going through research with available statistics, scouring over all-area/all-county teams and other data points, putting these teams together are no easy task. As such, All-State teams will be made available to those who are signed up for a Season Ticket or Premium Season Ticket membership. We apologize to all of those in advance regarding this, but this is the only way we can be compensated for the time and efforts that was put into this to make this happen. When we look at various media outlets who have put All-Area and All-County teams behind the paywall, we only feel it is fair and reasonable that we are afford the same opportunity here.

Now for the selection process and how we reformulated things…

As such, the All-State teams for the SSAA 11-Man and all eight FHSAA classifications will have first and second teams with 15 athletes selected on offense and 15 athletes selected on defense along with five more athletes selected for special teams. As such 35 athletes will be listed for first team selections and 35 more athletes for second team selections.

When it comes to honorable mention selections, there was some talk about possibly eliminating this section and I must admit in years past the honorable mention selections kind of went all over the place and there was never a consistent number of honorable mention selections. This year I decided to limit the number of honorable mention selections to 30 athletes maximum regardless of position. This is to keep things consistent and clean.

As such, the new process will allow 900 athletes to be recognized. In 2023 over 38,000 athletes participated in high school football in Florida and as such going based upon this number, only 2.4% of the athletes that played high school football in 2024 will be recognized if the numbers hold up or exceed this number for the 2024 season which will be unknown for several more months for participation surveys are released by the FHSAA.

We will be releasing our nominees for Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Specialist of the Year, and Coach of the Year on our social media platforms on X (Twitter), Facebook and Instagram on Monday (tomorrow). One athlete will be named Overall Player of the Year among the nominees listed. The award winners will be named on the same day that the All-State teams are released on FloridaHSFootball.com.

Here is our schedule for All-State Teams:

Tue. Feb 18
SSAA, Class Rural, Class 1A, SSAA, Class Rural & 1A Award Winners

Wed. Feb 19
Class 2A, Class 3A, Class 2A & 3A Award Winners

Thu. Feb 20
Class 4A, Class 5A, Class 4A & 5A Award Winners

Fri. Feb 21
Class 6A, Class 7A, Class 6A & 7A Award Winners

CONTENT IDEAS WELCOME

GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL KICKS OFF THIS WEEK

Florida, the “Original OG” in Girls Flag Football kicks off this week with the regular season opening up tomorrow (Monday) around the state.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (June 1, 2021) – FloridaHSFootball.com is proud to announce that Baker’s Sporting Goods based in Jacksonville, Fla., has acquired the rights to be our Presenting Sponsor for our Tackle Football Scoreboards that you see each week during the season in the fall as well be the Presenting Sponsor for our Girls Flag Football Scoreboards during the spring.

With Baker’s Sporting Goods’ Sponsorship as the Presenting Sponsor of our Scoreboards, which are digitally powered by ScoreStream, another partner of ours since 2014, you will see their unique Sponsorship on nearly 20 scoreboards each week during the fall. During the spring season with Girls Flag Football, you will also see their unique Sponsorship on our Statewide Girls Flag Football Scoreboard, again in the spring.

Additionally, you will see Baker’s Sporting Goods’ logo in every score we post on the FloridaHSFootball.com social media accounts this fall as well as when we recap scores from all around the state every weekend from the kickoff classics in the preseason until the final state champion is crowned in December. The same will carry over into the spring during the Flag Football Season as well with scores on social media.

“We have watched Baker’s Sporting Goods continuously grow over, but also keep that small business persona with the hometown service one loves to have. Not only with their partnership as a sponsor with FloridaHSFootball.com, but Baker’s Sporting Goods has done so many things for the schools they service and for the entire state with what they have done with the Florida Athletica Coaches Association (FACA), among many others. In all, this partnership has a lot of potential not just for FloridaHSFootball.com, but for schools, teams, parents, players, and coaches across all of Florida,” said Joshua Wilson, Founder, and Publisher of FloridaHSFootball.com.

With the Scoreboard Sponsorship, you will see an increased promotion for Baker’s Sporting Goods on FloridaHSFootball.com through advertising and our Social Media platforms during the 2021-2022 school year.

“We are extremely excited about the new partnership with FloridaHSFootball.com. Nobody knows and covers the state of Florida high school sports like Josh Wilson and his staff. I can’t wait to see the Baker’s Sports logo as I check the scores of all our partner schools every Friday night,” said Josh Baker, President Baker’s Sports Inc.

About Baker’s Sporting Goods

Josh Baker founded Baker’s Sporting Goods in 1997 as an 18-year-old college student. Working from his garage, he quickly learned the embroidery and screen-printing trade. As his reputation for superior customer service and quality workmanship grew, the company began its rapid expansion. In less than 10 years he had turned his home business into one of the largest team sports dealers in the southeast.

Today we have a 26,000+ sqft. production facility with 14 sales representatives to service Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. Our experienced staff is committed to providing the best possible customer experience for all of your sporting goods needs. From outfitting your team, league or just a new pair of shoes, you can always expect skilled knowledge and caring customer service from your team sports experts. Like you, we are excited about sports and are proud to outfit your home team.

You can visit Baker’s Sporting Goods online at Bakerssport.com, call them at (888) 388-8126, or you can visit their showroom in Jacksonville at 3600 Beachwood Court located off Interstate 295 and Beach Blvd.

Starting on Monday, June 7, 2021, FloridaHSFootball.com will be introducing a new PREMIUM Subscription Service called FloridaHSFootball.com+ (pronounced as FloridaHSFootball.com Plus). FloridaHSFootball.com+ will be a content-driven service with articles written by the FloridaHSFootball.com team along with freelancers from around the state.

After many years of being a fully free website, the time has come to transition FloridaHSFootball.com to more of a hybrid approach of premium content, while still offering a lot for FREE. The biggest factor behind this is our growth over the last several years and we want to be able to expand upon that. Quality journalism has a cost to it and to bring it to you, we feel asking you all to pay for what it cost typically for a daily coffee just once a month ($4.99 per month) will help us achieve that goal.

With that, I have put together an FAQ to help you all understand what the new FloridaHSFootball.com+ Subscription Service will be about.

WHAT IS FLORIDAHSFOOTBALL.COM+?

FloridaHSFootball.com+ is a PREMIUM subscription service offering content that can not be found anywhere else. This will include multiple articles a month with features, general stories, and more. The service could also expand to offer options and rewards for subscribers in the future and when we do add something to the service, we will notify our subscribers of such changes.

WHAT WILL IT COST TO SUBSCRIBE TO FLORIDAHSFOOTBALL.COM+?

The price of just one of your morning coffees is roughly how much it will cost to subscribe to FloridaHSFootball.com+ each month. Better yet, you can get FloridaHSFootball.com+ cheaper by subscribing for a full year!

STANDARD SUBSCRIPTION PRICES
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly – $4.99/month
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly – $44.99/year

And yes, we do offer discounts to coaches, members of the FACA, FHS7V7A, as well as our active military, military veterans, and first responders (police, fire, rescue, doctors, nurses, and other skilled personnel) as determined by 6 U.S.C. § 101.

SPECIAL OFFER: Use Coupon Code LAUNCH20 lockin 20% OFF the standard rate on both monthly and yearly subscriptions. The coupon is good until June 30, 2021.

WHERE DO WE SIGN UP AT?

You can sign up for the Yearly subscription by clicking here or you can sign up for the Monthly subscription by clicking here.

HOW DO FLORIDAHSFOOTBALL.COM+ SUBSCRIPTIONS WORK?

Subscriptions are on a recurring basis, meaning they will automatically renew as long your account remains in good standing and all your credit card information is up to date. The first payment will take place on the day you purchase while subsequent renewals (either on a monthly or yearly basis) will take place in the same amount on the renewal date which you will be able to access from your account tab. All subscription purchases are final.

WHEN WILL THIS OFFICIALLY START?

The first articles that are part of FloridaHSFootball.com+ will be published starting Monday, June 7, 2021. However, you may sign up at any time before then by clicking on this link to sign up and get your account set up.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ALL ACCEPT?

We accept all major debit and credit cards through Stripe Checkout, our preferred third-party Gateway for processing payments. Also, Stripe Checkout, provides the ability for you to use cards you already have stored digitally on your phone with Apple Pay or Google Pay without ever having to open up your wallet. Also, we will accept Pay by Check or Money Order for FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly Subscriptions only. However, paying by check will delay the start of the subscription until the check is received and processed by FloridaHSFootball.com. All checks will be subject to a $35 return check fee on top of the amount owed if a check is returned. To send us a check, all checks MUST be made out to FLORIDA HS FOOTBALL, LLC and mailed to PO BOX 141601, GAINESVILLE, FL 32614-1601.

SO WHY NOW START CHARGING ON FLORIDAHSFOOTBALL.COM?

Well, quite honestly it is time to make this move. In the age of digital media, the work that I, Joshua Wilson, and all the freelancers and interns have done over the years has a cost to it. No content on FloridaHSFootball.com is ever free or ever has been free but has been free for you to view for a long time. There is a cost to going to games, there is a cost to cover ancillary events, a cost to go to media days each year, a cost to pay freelancers to cover top games, and yes even a cost (a quite significant one) to keep the lights on and the server running.

We also waited until the COVID-19 pandemic was starting to ease up to make this decision. As everyone was hit hard economically, it would not have been fair to start charging for some of our content when people were struggling, but as the rebound is now underway, we feel confident to start making this transition.

At the end of the day, this is a cost of doing business (this is not a hobby for us, this is real life work) and we must be able to cover our costs and be able to have a way to expand the content you all would like to see on FloridaHSFootball.com.

DIDN’T YOU TRY A SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE BEFORE?

About five or six years ago, we did try to offer a subscription service, but were not fully prepared for what is involved and quite frankly did not have the best software to manage this as efficiently. Now with the right software and tools in place, our confidence is extremely high for this to succeed and do well.

WHAT WILL REMAIN FREE?

Great question! A lot of content that you see now on FloridaHSFootball.com will remain free. That includes some news articles, most of our rankings (some will be premium content this coming school year), all scoreboards, the Florida High School Helmet Project, playoff information, and a whole a lot more. Also, any sponsored content including any content that would have been premium, would be made free. Plus, any content that is published in connection to an FHSAA State Finals Event (both Football and Flag Football) will continue to be free as well.

WILL YOU OFFER AN AD-FREE EXPERIENCE?

The answer is not currently and not for the foreseeable future. Advertising is one key component we will still need to offer to bring revenue in here at FloridaHSFootball.com. For us to bring an ad-free experience, we would have to consider charging triple the amount for the FloridaHSFootball.com+ Subscription Service and that is something we are not willing to do at all. So, at this time a combination of having the FloridaHSFootball.com+ Subscription Service as well as Advertising and Sponsorships will be our main revenue model going forward.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR COACHES & ATHLETIC DIRECTORS?

Yes, we do offer discounts for coaches (both head coaches and assistant coaches) at a 25% OFF discount rate for both our FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly and FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly Subscriptions.

For us to facilitate giving a discount for coaches, the school’s head coach must email us a list of all their coaches and the email address that each coach will use to get the discount. In return, we will supply the head coach with a list of “COUPON” codes that will be designated for each coach to use as a One-Time Use. This is to prevent unauthorized discounts to users that are not eligible for the discount. To set up these coupon codes, please email Joshua.Wilson@floridahsfootball.com with all coaches seeking to get a subscription.

For Athletic Directors, please email us directly from your school email address for your one-time coupon code to Joshua.Wilson@floridahsfootball.com

DISCOUNTED PRICES
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly – Normal Rate: $4.99/month –> Discounted Rate: $3.74/month
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly – Normal Rate: $44.99/year –> Discounted Rate: $33.74/year

EXCEPTION: If a Coach, Athletic Director, or School is a member of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) or their team was a member of the Florida High School 7v7 Association (FHS7V7A), any registered coaches of either association may be eligible for a deeper discount rate of 50% off on both our FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly and FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly Subscriptions. Please contact us for further details at Joshua.Wilson@floridahsfootball.com or see this FAQ for more details.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR FACA MEMBERS?

Yes, we do offer discounts for Florida Athletic Coaches Association Members (FACA) as part of our partnership with them at a significant deeper discount at 50% OFF for our FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly and FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly Subscriptions. We will verify FACA membership with the FACA but will work with you if you have FACA membership and have not been verified yet. Those eligible for the FACA member discount may send a DM to us on Twitter at @FlaHSFootball or email Joshua.Wilson@floridahsfootball.com for a one-time use coupon code.

PLEASE NOTE: If a school has a FACA Membership, only the head coach football coach, head flag football coach, and school athletic director shall be eligible for the FACA Discount as FACA only grants so many memberships in a school membership, therefore it would be almost impossible for an entire coaching staff to be under the school’s membership. However, if an assistant coach does maintain individual membership with FACA, then they would still be eligible to get the FACA Member Discount.

DISCOUNTED PRICES
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly – Normal Rate: $4.99/month –> Discounted Rate: $2.50/month
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly – Normal Rate: $44.99/year –> Discounted Rate: $22.50/year

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR FHS7V7A MEMBERS?

Yes, we do offer discounts for Florida High School 7v7 Association Members as part of our partnership with them at a significant deeper discount at 50% OFF for our FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly and FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly Subscriptions. We will be using the FHS7V7A registration status from 2021 for us to verify coaches and their schools using the FHS7V7A discount code. Coaches found to be using the discount code but are NOT active members of FHS7V7A will have their access restricted until verified that membership does exist. Those eligible for the FHS7V7A member discount may send a DM to us on Twitter at @FlaHSFootball or email Joshua.Wilson@floridahsfootball.com for a one-time use coupon code.

DISCOUNTED PRICES
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly – Normal Rate: $4.99/month à Discounted Rate: $2.50/month
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly – Normal Rate: $44.99/year à Discounted Rate: $22.50/year

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR ACTIVE MILITARY, MILITARY VETERANS, AND FIRST RESPONDERS?

Yes, we do offer discounts for Active Military, Military Veterans, and our First Responders at a 50% OFF discounted rate on both our FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly and FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly rates. To verify that a customer qualifies for this discount, they should email over a copy of their ID to FloridaHSFootball.com+@floridahsfootball.com. Once we verify the copy of the ID we will send a one-time coupon code to you to use for the subscription. Alternatively, if you have an email address that is connected to your work as an active military or as a first responder, sending us an email to FloridaHSFootball.com+@floridahsfootball.com from that email account will also work to where we can send you a one-time discount code. This is all to prevent unauthorized discounts to users that are not eligible for the discount.

DISCOUNTED PRICES
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly – Normal Rate: $4.99/month –> Discounted Rate: $2.50/month
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly – Normal Rate: $44.99/year –> Discounted Rate: $22.50/year

DO MEDIA MEMBERS GET A DISCOUNT?

Yes, we are offering our media brethren in the high school and collegiate world a discount at 25% OFF discount rate for both our FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly and FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly Subscriptions.

For members of the media to access our discounted rate, they may email us from their work email for a one-time use discount code by emailing Joshua Wilson at Joshua.Wilson@floridahsfootball.com. For members of the media without a work-connected email (typical for most freelancers), please email Joshua Wilson at Joshua.Wilson@floridahsfootball.com and include a link to your most recent work so we can verify you as a member of the media.

DISCOUNTED PRICES
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly – Normal Rate: $4.99/month –> Discounted Rate: $3.74/month
FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly – Normal Rate: $44.99/year –> Discounted Rate: $33.74/year

CAN COLLEGE COACHES GET A DISCOUNT?

Since there are many rules and regulations regarding college football through the NCAA and what types of services they can subscribe or not subscribe to, plus likely us needing required approvals, we will not offer any discounts to any college coaches at any level. College Coaches can subscribe on their own accord at the standard pricing rate of $4.99 per month for FloridaHSFootball.com+ Monthly or $44.99 per year for FloridaHSFootball.com+ Yearly, but we will not be held liable if a coach commits a violation by subscribing to the FloridaHSFootball.com+ Subscription Service that is otherwise not permitted to do so.

HOW DO WE LOG IN/LOG OUT?

There will be multiple options to Logging In and Logging Out with the FloridaHSFootball.com+ Subscription Service. If you are viewing us on a desktop, laptop, or large tablet, the Log In/Log Out button will be located on the main menu next to the “Home” icon. If you are view on a mobile device, just click the menu icon (looks like a hamburger) on the top left corner of any page and you will see the Log In/Log Out Option between the “FloridaHSFootball.com+” Icon and the “Home” Icon. You may also Log In at any one point on any FloridaHSFootball.com+ article to where you can read that article without having to do anything else.

ARE THERE LOGIN LIMITS?

Yes, you may only be logged in with your account on FloridaHSFootball.com on up to FIVE devices at once. Once you hit the maximum number of devices logged in, you will not be able to log in until another device is logged out. This is to prevent account sharing use which is considered theft and can cause a loss of revenue to us as a business. This limit can change at any time WITH or WITHOUT notice.

WHAT IF WE DONATED TO YOU IN THE LAST 6 TO 9 MONTHS?

A few folks have regularly donated to us or have sent us one-time contributions. Please contact Joshua.Wilson@floridahsfootball.com directly so we can work on providing you a complimentary subscription based on what you have donated over the last 6 to 9 months.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY?

All subscription sales are FINAL. You may cancel your subscription at any time and you may continue to access your account until the subscription expires. However, we will not provide any refunds at any time and we reserve the right to issue refunds or credits at our own discretion. If such an opportunity is provided, it does not mean we are obligated to provide a refund or credit in the future.

DO NOT SEE A QUESTION ANSWERED HERE?

Send us an email to support@floridahsfootball.com with your question so we can answer it! Thank you!

GAINESVILLE — For the past seven years, FloridaHSFootball.com has grown as a site that started off just simply to cover high school football. It would have been hard to have told many people where it would take myself in the process of that journey, but it has sure been a fun one so far and a challenging one at times. This upcoming fall will be the eighth football season for the site and totally feel it will be by far the most challenging one yet, but also will probably one of the best ever.

However, time to get down to some things business wise.

Today, I am sharing some thoughts and ideas that I am bringing forward to continue improving FloridaHSFootball.com in the day, weeks and months ahead.

More Content

This is something I am working hard improving is more content and more of it daily. Some of the content will come a the spur of the moment like coaching changes and other news events affecting teams around the state. Nothing much we can do to prepare for that except to expect that news when it does happen.

However, what can be planned for are features and game coverage.

Some features that are looking at being done includes the following:

History Huddle: Looking back on Florida’s high school football history. There is a lot we can do this and we are not going to say too much about how we will go about it, but I do intend to involve Florida high school football history expert Richard Burton from time to time. He has a big wealth of knowledge and has spent the last few years researching, so this is something we will be working on.

Four Questions with the Coaches: We will ask coaches four questions which they will answer and will feature them on the site with likely one each at least. It will be a great way for fans to better know the leaders of the programs from around the state. We will do this both with Football and Flag Football.

Twitter Tuesdays: We will look back on an entire’s week of events and news stories through tweets, plus post a few poll questions along the way about different topics.

Over/Under Media Spotlight: We will throw some things out there for members of the media to answer about different topics. An example will be will Team A get eight wins this season and the response will be given to us as Over or Under and a brief explanation as to why.

Regional Bias: From time to time we will take a look at the different parts of the state using a regional bias. We will talk to members of the media in a particular region to see what is moving or what is shaking and where things could head for that region from time to time.

Other Things: The helmet challenge will return this summer (likely to be different than 9 brackets like last year), some different things on mascots, alumni notebooks and other ideas that come about as we move forward. Things like weekly rankings, weekly look ahead and other things during both tackle and flag football seasons will still be there as well.

We will likely, starting next week, launch a Weekly Planner to kind of give an idea of the content planned for that week, minus anything that could pop at a moment’s notice.

Mobile App

This is likely one of the biggest things I have been asked about: “When are you going to have a mobile app?” Well, that has always been one of those things that have been down low on the priority list, but with some recent advancements in technology, things have improved upon this outlook.

So yes, a mobile app is being considered. Will it happen today, tomorrow or next week? Unlikely. A few months is more likely the ideal situation at this point. There will be at least a 30-day build out things before any app launches, so that will have to be factored in once things finally lock in place. And when we do launch an app it will be available on Android and iOS (Apple). The app will be free to everyone and it would allow us to send push notifications directly to you on any news or updates that we feel will be important.

Video Integration & Podcasts

Currently working on some things involving video, but not too much can be said as to what it will be, exactly how it will be and so forth. However, I will say this could be a major game changer and that is where we will leave it at for now on that. The only other thing is that this could spur some specialty podcasts and that would be another thing that is be investigated at this time. Hopefully, some announcements will be able to start rolling out soon in regards to this.

Sponsorships & Advertising

We are going to be revamping how we handle sponsorships and advertising as we do have some interest coming forth from some major companies for the upcoming season. However, we understand not everyone can do major sponsorships and so forth. However, we will offer a variety of advertising options that will meet different needs for our advertisers and sponsors. More will be posted in the near future in regards to these options.

No, your eyes are not fooling you. You are seeing a different look on FloridaHSFootball.com as you look at this.

A decision had been rolling around to make a change to the design of the website, but something we didn’t think would be done until after the season was over. However, it became apparent to us that something had to be done sooner rather than later.

What you are looking at is what we will be using for the foreseeable future and to be honest, you all will appreciate it.

The first thing you might notice is that we now have a fly-out menu that can be accessed from the top left corner of the site from any device (mobile and desktop). The fly-out menu will be the larger of the two menus you will see on the website and you can access all the sections (including any future add-ons from there).

The second menu will be across the top like we had before on the previous design. However, the links will now be more for our most popular links that are for easy access. You will only see this menu if you are on a desktop browser.

Taking a look at the homepage, you will see that we will feature four top headlines now on the top of the page and you will see sections below from different categories with the most recent headlines from each of those sections. You will also find a section with our most recent photo galleries on the home page as well.

Looking at the articles, there is much improved in reader visibility including a change in fonts used for reading articles as well as new ways to connect with the writers who write the stories. For most authors, you will find a way to connect with them on Twitter through the tweet icon next to the author’s name on top of the article. At the bottom of each article, you will find buttons to take you to a new article or an older article, as well as recommendations for other articles you might have missed.

Also on the sidebar of most articles and pages, you will find our normal placements for advertisements as well as a section showing you Trending Stories. These are the top five stories that are getting the most views within the last week.

When you click on a category, which can be done by either clicking one through the menu or through the category shown on top of each article, you will see the most recent headline for that category featured as well as more articles below that giving you access to a variety of things we have written.

Please note there might be a few things that will look out of place still over the next week or so. We plan on getting the rest of the kinks worked out in that time, but in general, the new design is fully functional now and you should experience a better reading experience across any device you access FloridaHSFootball.com and with that should hopefully come more new content that you all will appreciate as we continue to build as the top high school football and flag football website in the state of Florida!

If you got any comments, just leave us a comment below in the comments section, which has now been converted away from being strictly using the Facebook comments platform to the Disqus commenting platform. Disqus allows you to comment on articles from using a Disqus account as well as either through a Facebook, Twitter or Google account.

Six years ago, FloridaHSFootball.com was launched on National Signing Day.

Six years ago, the site was crude in a lot more ways than I could tell you. What I thought looked professional, is now nowhere even close to what I call professional. The design was a mess, the logo was basic, content structure really was not a cohesive point.

In the process of six years, the site has had several different variations of logos. Logos are used to identify a brand, a selling point for almost any business big and small. Even the design has improved 1,000 times better and is even adaptable to your mobile devices, where over 70% of traffic currently comes from now (a major change from just even three years ago).

The logo to the left has been in place for nearly 2 and 1/2 years roughly. However, it has not been catchy. Some still don’t recognize it. I finally had to recognize that likely something was going to have to be done.

In came, Chris Stoney, a graphic design artist and University of Florida graduate who I had the pleasure to finally meet last summer. From that point, things were about to change, some of it not what I was expecting. When I listened and learned from Chris about what might be holding the logo from being recognized part of the website, I decided to let him come up with something that could be a better was to identify the site.

Now I feel that identity has been found in the logos below:

In this logo you will see we have adopted the shield look with the football being incorporated into the shield. If you look around in the football world, you will see variations of the shield being used. However, we are proud now to call this logo above our own.

Gone is the gold color we have used for most of our existence. Also gone is the very dark green we have used as well. Now we have lightened up the green colors to give it more of a football feel, while incorporating a nice silver tone that also implies football. These new colors were recently introduced on the redesigned site over the last few weeks.

As such, we feel this logo will be the next step to enhance the site raise it to great heights all around Florida and allow to continue to grow as recognized leader in high school football coverage from a national view point as well.

In the coming months you will see the logo pop up in places we could have only imagined a few years ago. We are proud of this new logo and will be our logo for MANY years to come!

If you are a business owner or someone in charge of advertising for the company you work, feel free to reach out to me at joshua.wilson@floridahsfootball.com or (904) 712-4735. We have some exciting plans in the works we can’t reveal just yet here, but these are plans that we are seeking potential sponsors with the upcoming 2016 seasons in Football as well as Girls Flag Football.

If you are a high school sports team that is interested in Chris Stoney’s services, feel free to visit his website, Sports By Pride, to view his portfolio of past work he has completed. Some of his past clients have included the Williston Red Devils football team, the Trinity Catholic Celtics football team as well as work for some major Division I FBS programs.
