  1. Hardee vs Lake Wales - finally, this one is back on!

  2. Using the past 20 seasons of data, here is a mathematical projection of the 2019 season. It should be noted, this data is based on past performance and does not take coaching changes, returning players, etc. into consideration. And though entertaining, I would certainly not take it to the bank. After all, you wouldn't play the stock market based entirely on historic data. The first analysis is Classification Strength. This ranking is a weighted moving average combining team power rankings and median power rankings for each classification. It lists the Top 4 teams in each class. The second analysis measures "parity" within each classification using Std. Deviation as the guideline. 3. Lol they beat us 3 years in a row with alot of the same core players. They were just nasty and always played their A game in the finals.

  4. Guess you got me! Hawthorne is tired of losing 1 game to Madison. We are 0-1 all-time and we are just tired of seeing them every year. Yep that's what it is. Taylor and Madison should be in the "North"

  5. The series dates back to 1927. Hardee leads the series 16-15. Last game played was in 2011, first round of the playoffs and the two have met in the playoffs 3 times.

  6. I have heard folks on this board talk about Madison having an unfair advantage in terms of their classification. If this is true... My comments above were generalizations. There are numerous means by which a team/coach can create an unfair advantage.

  7. I favor whatever gives coaches and kids today more of a feeling of ownership and equity in the current system. The real problem we have today is not a "system" issue, it's a "people" issue. ...certain people (coaches and parents) who have lost sight of basic tenets of sportsmanship and the reason we have hs sports to begin with....not to win at all costs and get kids into college

  8. But for some reason they didn't do a simulcam of Woods and Dean despite them being 2 fastest

  9. We had 10 very large 6A-8A teams do exactly that when they chose not to be in 6A-8A and form their own independent conference. I will continue to say it, but until the FHSAA starts moving good teams and bad teams down, this will continue to happen.

  10. I think what they have done is basically gone back to playing in a district. I don't see an issue with it. Scheduling has been an issue for these schools and if this is an opportunity to have meaningful games in the regular season it can only better prepare them for FHSAA playoffs. As for criticizing these teams for not being able to beat Madison the last couple of years let us then also throw shade at all the other teams Madco has beaten outside of the 1A championship game.

  11. Since Pahokee, Moore Haven and Marathon are the only public schools in S FL in 1A-3A, maybe they will form their own Southern League. That's assuming they are all like-minded, of course.

  12. A am pretty sure Lincoln - Niceville not happening was money related. Visiting gate much larger with panhandle teams. The Niceville crowd is showing up no matter what.

  13. Madison though is playing 4 dimensional chess while the rest of us are playing checkers. The use of the charter school to siphon enough students away to lower their population numbers is darn near criminal in my opinion. If Madison played in the classification that their numbers are this wouldn't be an issue. As for Pahokee, they are who we thought they are. They couldn't even beat Hawthorne last year. Imagine if every school could do this. Take every kid who could care so little about sports, band, cheerleading and put them in their own school and your population numbers is only kids who want to play sports, cheer, dance, do band, or just come to games. All of a sudden, we might get very different classifications.
