Let get some talk going in here, we are just about a month away from practice starting. Lets take the eight state champions from last year and lets put them in a bracket and see who wins the ultimate prize 1A: Madison County 2A: North Florida Christian 3A: Chaminade Madonna 4A: Raines 5A: Cardinal Gibbons 6A: Northwestern 7A: Lakeland 8A: Mandarin I will start Small School 4-NFC at 1- Madison 3-Raines at 2- Chaminade Madonna Big School 3- Mandarin at 2- Lakeland 4- Cardinal Gibbons at 1- Northwestern Semis 2 Chaminade Madona at 1 Madison 2 Lakeland at 1 Northwestern Final Northwestern over Madison County

I doubt that any HS football team "fears" any other HS football team. What would they have to fear? That another team may be better than their team? The players just want to play football and enjoy testing themselves against the best opponents. I have never met a HS player that had fear in their DNA.Now, possibly some coaches have trepidation when confronting a more powerful team due to the status of their jobs. The more games they lose the easier it is to be humiliated and to be let go as HC.

Denison Stadium in Winter Haven is shared by by Winter Haven High School and Webber International University. According to Webber's athletic website, the stadium seats 14000.

Games during the 70's and 80's for Manatee always started at 8:00pm, I believe it was in the 90's when the state started having re-occurring issues with Mosquitoes carrying encephalitis. The fear that playing games with night time starting times and playing later into the evening increased potential exposure, that we started seeing earlier starting times as well as playing on Saturday in some instances. Also aren't there FHSAA rules regarding how late games are to be played.....particularly when games are delayed due to weather or have OT? Later starting would have an impact on this as well potentially...........................

But you all did respect them, though. And now, based on the recent past, probably not much anymore.

There are a number of unbelievable stadiums here in Georgia, I thought the stadiums at Hoover and Hewitt Trussville HS in Alabama were nice and spacious as well, The stadium in PA when Manatee played Woodland Hills in PA I thought gave off the kind of message you get from a dying steel mill town type environment from the stadium...(which was still very nice), to the community around the stadium. In as far as the nicest in Florida that I have actually been to......(while I've also heard nice things about the Niceville HS stadium), for me has to to be Bryant Stadium which is of course the home of the Lakeland Dreadnaughts

Sorry to hear you are a game short. Wekiva shows up as missing a game 8 on Max Preps. But that could be just an error. However, it may be worth a phone call. It would be two quality teams

Okay. In that case I am sorry they are in disarray. I remember when they had a very solid football program back in the early through mid 2000s.

Pahokee should win that game. They have a better shot beating U school at home week 1 than week 7 or 8 on the road.

I filled out the ones I knew for sure. I have watched games at all but two of the ones I filled out.
