Mia Northwestern was 5-5 going into the playoffs last year and then rattled off five straight wins to claim the state title. I doubt any team would rather go undefeated in the regular season rather then win the ultimate prize.

I'd be that team to sneak into the playoffs at 4-6 to win a ring. Hands down. No hesitation.

Yes but that's not the question here I wouldn't care if my regular season record is 4-6 or 5-5 if I won a state title, regular seasons are forgotten over time, a title is forever

Ok What is "state Championship" for 300 Alex I'd rather be 6-4 or 5-5 for 3 years win a 2 state championships than to go 10-0 in the regular season and lose every year in the playoffs. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to rain on Vero's parade, but I prefer a state championship because, in the end, the 8A state champion will be talking about more than Vero's 61 game winning streak....Unless ...Vero themselves become the 8A State champions. I tell you this though.....If Vero Beach wins the 8A state championship that would be MONUMENTOUS for their program.

Pahokee was losing 24-7 at the half after turning over the ball twice in the first half. Got the ball on the opening drive and a perfectly thrown ball was dropped and intercepted by OTC!!!! Trinity never got complacent because they never stopped Pahokee or never moved the ball efficiently on them!!!!They got down 30-7 in the 3rd and that's when Pahokee started to take care of the ball!!!! Should've been an easy win that day, but the the ball bounced Trinity's way and they capitalized like good teams should!!!!

Correct. I was at that game on the campus of Florida International University. It was in 2005 when John Brantley led the team at QB. It was 30-0 Celtics at the half and they were coasting along. The Celtics then got complacent and Pahokee scored 30 unanswered points in the 2nd half mostly on the arm of Robert Love. It took a key 4th down pass from Brantley for a first down and then a 65 yard run right up the middle of the Pahokee defense by RB Rudell Small to ice the game 37-30. Those were the days when Pahokee was one of the most feared teams in the state.

I still see them making it to the 3rd round by default if we see you guys it’s going to be a City shut down lol

I think he was talking about the last few years when they went from champ and runner up to this. The point system for the wild cards wasn't the best then either but I did benefit from it one year

The system we had in 1999-2000 was the best. 3 districts per region. Champs and runner-ups get in; 2 at large spots with a simple point system

What about their other loss to Cocoa in state? Another great game was Cocoa's first state game against Godby winning by 1 point as well. I think the score was 7-6 I have to look it up
