WOW!! that’s all I can say, and the patriots haven’t even hit the meat of their schedule yet. they lost last week to iMG, okay understandable but no one predicted this, especially with all the transfers they got over the summer. just goes to show that great coaching and a program that’s bought into goes a long way. The Vero/Treasure Coast games have always been classics I don’t think either team has won by more than 1 score in like 10 years. TC is always fun to watch.

That’s why I prefer the wing t as Bolles ran it. The best high school offensive system I’ve seen because of two things: (1) incredible use of trap (2) an ability to pass and keep defenses honest. Though I really liked the offense Apopka ran when Darlington’s son was the QB.

AHP losing to Treasure is shocking. Hillsborough blowing out Steinbrenner is not really that shocking.

I am glad PK won, in which they dominated the game with players out due to COVID issues in the area but the backups getting game experience (Although a little too early in the 4th) is really valuable later in the season and for the future of the program. The defense is really good and the team do looks to be well coached but it is still early season! The big games are coming: Lakes, Gardens, The starting QB will be back for Treasure Coast, Clewiston, Lehigh and GC!!

Big win for Aquinas Sr QB Zion Turner had a great game-SFA, has talent and was huge upfront but, Aquinas was up for the challenge-Mason Taylor TE is gonna present problems for opposing defenses he can stay in to block and flex out like a WR he’s a matchup nightmare-Aquinas OT Julian Armella played very well against 4* DT Derek Moore of SFA-Remember this name RB Xavier Terrell transfer from IMG he can fly had a big td for Aquinas he replaced stud Sr RB Anthony Hankerson was went out with dehydration-St.Thomas’s defense was outstanding in the second half led by two linebackers that can flat out hit and cover Jordan “Bam” Smith and Derrion Craig who was everywhere.

Xavier Terrell was a beast! I was wondering what happened to Hankerson, but their run game didn't drop off much. That SFA team was nice too, was a great game. Mason Taylor is one of those guys that makes a QBs life just gravy.

If Apopka had continued to run that offense, I know of at least one 4 year starter for another team, that would have likely worn the Blue and White. It goes both ways. I totally agree with you oon Riley Skinner being underrated.

Jax TCA ran the wing-T pretty good to!! We won 3 state championships with that offense, including the team I played for !!!! Hopefully TCA watches this game film and brings back some wing t plays when theY play AHP Later this year!!! and I’m not saying we ran it as good as bolles just throwing that out there lol

The coaching staff at WP is being real careful with Terrance Gibbs. He's an amazing RB with great pass catching skills also. They don't want to risk his future at UF and thereafter. Having Amaris Shaw at RB makes it a lot easier to give Terrance a few more weeks. The word I get from my grandson is that Terrance has been awesome in practice.

Tyson should know. He was very good at knocking teeth out of mouths.

That year 2/3 spread, 1/3 single wing, extensive use of read option plays. I liked that offense, too; it was capable of eating clock and quick strike. If I were a decision maker, that's what I would have done going forward. But I understand Darlington's philosophy. He was a stickler for old school, clock control. Bolles's ability to pass was great. I remember when they destroyed Tampa Jefferson in a final at the Swamp. One of the best offensive displays I have ever seen at this level.

Did Hawthorne knock Pahokee out once so if Hawthorne knock out that 4A team that would be 2times that they have knock out pakokee because I think they would play pahokee first then that “Quote 4A team

When we were in 7A we were the SMALLEST 7a team in the classification and it lasted one cycle we have been hovering at 6a for the vast majority of a decade AHD is not some crap ass team that hasn't won, they are still a multiple time state champion and what classification they play in is completely irrelevant, is Trinity Christian unable to compete because they in 2a? I wish Dillard would install it, if seems to be really effective. You would think AHP have seen that before being that they play nationally.

There are some dumb SOB’s who think those offenses don’t work and should be left in the past. A real shame that they can’t appreciate a great running attack.

Most of the state was overinflating AHP by ranking them number 1 In a stronger year they would be borderline top 10 in FL at best but probably top 5 because of the state being down overall this year

Yep they did. 8a is just stacked this year. I thought with the Studs on D, the Pats were the best team in Broward. Great win for the Titans.

In another post, it says that Treasure Coast beat American Heritage Plantation. If this is accurate, that would be the upset of the week. TC is a solid 8A team and was able to sneak a win over VB in the recent past. But a win over AHP is a whole new level of success. Could be that unfamiliarity with the single wing offence did AHP in.

Hornet, thanks for the update as I was aware about him rehabbing the ACL injury just was hoping to see him perform last night. The Shaw kid did help the running game in the 2nd half, so I am sure that Gibbs return will make that running attack look much better than it did last night.

Given how bad last season went, it's hard to make any big claims. But, it sure does seem to me like they are pretty loaded, certainly with more depth than I can remember. They certainly have several big games upcoming to prove if they're really back.

Terrance Gibbs (WP 4 star senior RB - UF commit with over 30 D-1 offers) missed all last season with a torn ACL. According to my source on the team, Terrance is physically ok, but may not play in the first 3 games of the season. He's been working out, but hasn't been participating in any hitting drills yet. He was on the sideline last night, but not dressed out. WP was also without 3 star junior RB Amaris Shaw (8 D-1 offers so far, including FSU and Tennessee) for most of 1st half; he played the 2nd half and had some nice runs. When Terrance returns, WP will have a strong running game. WP's defense played well for the 2nd week in a row.

Also worth noting Lakeland was without its best LB, and its two best DBs were really hobbled, one played sparingly. Clearwater is probably better than people realize.
