  1. Monarch has gotten double digit transfers this year. 5-6 from Park Vista alone and then 4-5 the past week from other schools on top of a bunch others from before spring until now from around the county. They got a bunch before last season as well.

  2. Very good analogy, it is a tool and as I indicated in my humble opinion it is helpful for WR's and DB's and many coaches believe (not my analysis) that it can be detrimental for QB's. A hammer is also a tool, but not very useful when you need a wrench.

  3. There is no threat of physical contact, no real attempt to avoid it so no idea what the pocket presence will be when having to deal with that. On top of that, they have a much clearer field of vision to make their reads.

  4. I know in some of the bigger all star tournaments they actually allow a limited number of blitzes per game to go along with the time limit they have to throw. But as you've stated correctly that doesn't compare to actual pressure coming at them every down.

  5. I don't have a problem with it because while Columbia gets one transfer most teams in our district every year are getting 10 We were already district favorites and now this will help Columbia get a major boost in the potential regional playoffs chase and 20 years ago he would have been at Columbia High anyway Most High Springs kids end up at either Santa Fe or Fort White since while High Springs is technically alachua county it's as far from Gainesville as Lake City

  6. A lot of flowery words of thanks and praise for his former teammates at Hawthorne. Did his family actually move to Columbia HS district or did he "bail" on his former teammates? Nice "touch" with the hearts.

  7. Lmao but when those blitzes are available for use they come with a vengeance. Lmao just look at the highlights from the Overtime OT7 tournament championship between Cam Newton's 7v7 and SFE.

  8. In a way if used correctly it can help improve a QB's ability to read coverage schemes, work on timing of routes and ability to work through their progressions more efficiently to the right reads.

  9. Not sure if you intended this as a joke, but HAHA anyway. As a running back he did a decent job, but their primary weapon on the ground (Moulton) had triple the yards and returns for his senior year. Heck, even the QB Risk out gained him. As far as his defensive prowess, the stats show he had 2 tackles in 13 games so not convinced it is a huge get for Monarch. Plus most likely a team like Gibbons have added weapons you may not know about that will lessen his role even more, thus a smart move to look for a bigger role on a lesser team on his part.

  10. Glad that you have come around to my way of thinking when it comes to 7v7 tournaments translating to great success in 11 man football since last summer. Some coaches actually believe that it is detrimental to the development of a QB although it is beneficial for WR's and DB's.

In 7v7, it's basically a passing drill with no one in your face, so it's hard to draw too much from 7v7 college camps; same goes for "all-star" teams playing 7v7 in the off-season. There's not a lot of parity in local tournaments. With tackle football, it usually comes down to how the QB reacts under pressure when under a pass rush from opposing DL's and LB's
