  2. The highly anticipated week 4 game between Venice and the number 1 team in the nation, St. Frances Academy, will be televised on ESPN at 8 pm for what should be one of the best games of the year. I will be at that game covered from head to toe in green gear, rooting the Indians on to a W against the Panthers! Rise up, Indian nation! What are everyone’s thoughts on this? Would love to hear them!!

    2022 transfer thread

I understand why you refer to him as a "transfer," but I tend to think of this as more of a "kid moved." If this were IMG, I might be suspicious, but it's frickin' Hawthorne. Ain't nobody commuting back and forth between Hawthorne and N.C., so I'm pretty sure the kid's family just moved. I seriously doubt the kid is coming down from N.C. to live with his Auntie for the sole purpose of playing for Hawthorne.

  5. Sarasota High had a decent season last year, and only missed the playoffs by a couple of losses: Venice, Riverview, and Braden River. The strong core of their players returns and they have stepped up their comp this year, scheduling Manatee, Palmetto, and Southeast along with their district opponents. My boldest prediction for this season is that Sarasota wins at least one of the 4 games that they lost in 2021 between Venice, Riverview, Southeast, and Braden River, and makes the playoffs for the first time in years. North Port High is going independent this year in an attempt to push the reset button on their program. They have never made the playoffs in school history and have never even had a winning season. It appears that they have been bold and scheduled IMG National in Week 4; perhaps an all-out attempt to show their players what top-flight competition looks like. All the best to the Bobcats as they move forward. Riverview has brought back a good class and will once again challenge Venice for the district title. They get Venice at the Ram Bowl this season; could this be the year Riverview FINALLY defeats Venice and wins the district crown? Maybe. But Sarasota will not go down easily either.

  8. Yeah they basically Baltimore IMG though from when I've watched SFA I always felt like they played harder than IMG does, they have also had IMG's number as of late

  9. Thanks bro it’s gonna be a lot of fun! Dillard should be a top team in the state this year, can’t wait to see them play Central! I know the Panthers haven’t forgotten 2019,

  11. That would be easier than explaining some of this stuff as evidenced by the fact that when I go on my breaks and read the board I see the same lies being said in every thread with loads of misinformation that I can't help but laugh at And for the record @Perspective your not all that bad and I normally like reading your posts and even if your sometimes sarcastic with your responses you tend to actually listen to facts, I can't say the same for some others on this board the reason I bring up the thing with boarding is to show that some people will make whatever assumptions they want no matter what information they are given, I share transfers I come across on social media Whether they were "recruited" or "moved" is gonna be debated regardless of what I say because some will believe whatever they choose to believe regardless of how many times I correct it so I usually tend to not even bother which is why I usually take breaks because I get exhausted trying to explain that stuff to people who continue to give false information on schools but ignore far close examples to what they describing happening at another schools a few blocks down the road and think nothing of it

  13. There have been many instances of people saying whenever a private school gets a kid from another state that they "recruiting" because they board the kid even when said private school DOESN'T EVEN HAVE BOARDING Not every private school does contary to public perception but that's never stopped people from making that assumption

  14. The purpose of the thread is to show players who will be playing for a different school and therefore a transfer Whether they move or not is completely irrelevant nor do I care, if people choose to speculate who's moving and who's recruiting and who's just changing schools that's their choice

  15. This game will be a 7 TD blowout. Casual HSFB fans are gonna be saying “Why did they put this wasted blowout on TV?” And diehard HSFB fans are gonna be saying, “Why did they put this wasted blowout on TV?” SFA has over 30 guys with D1 offers and they are getting more literally daily. It’s not even a real high school team. It’s a collection of blue chip college prospects on an all star team apart of a traveling circus. This game will be 56-7 in the 3rd quarter with a running clock and the SFA players on the sidelines acting like clowns for the camera pretending they just put in hard work

  16. The game vs MIAMI CENTRAL is @ traz Powell , we’re @ chaminade & we’re home Vs STA the thing is Dillard & mc has the same type of speed so playing Mia teams, speed was never the issue. we have dawgs on defense as do they do it’s gonna come down to which defense can cause the most havoc in all 3 of those games. & whose offense can be balanced enough to put points on the board, with no offense your defense will wear down eventually, which has been Dillards Demise in a lot of their games in the past when they faced someone just as physical as them in defense.

  18. You could tell them we will be down like our fanbase says we will be every year and then only to find out our "down" is better than a lot of teams would ever get to

  21. Offense is mostly new with the entire offensive line graduating, most of the receiving corps, and the QB. But we still have Rkish Hyppolite, who got some snaps as a backup last year and Keon Sears, who is a really good receiver and a 2 year starter. We picked up wide receiver Ryan Matulevich and tight end Fin Jones, both from Cardinal Mooney, both of whom should fit right in to contribute. Running back Jamarice Wilder is only a sophomore but already shared snaps with Damarion last season and is proven to be a very strong RB. Our returning defense is going to be very strong. Damon Wilson is one of the best defensive ends in the country; he benches over 500 lbs and cleaned something like 345 and is only going to get stronger. Trenton Kintigh on the inside is going to be very strong as he started last year and was a very powerful force. Shamaron Wilson is going to be stepping into the second DE role opposite of Damon; he is only a sophomore but got some snaps in garbage time as a freshman last year and looked decent. I don’t know who will be beside Trenton, but I'm sure the coaching staff will groom a new nose tackle. Elliot Washington and Sage Yootzy both return for their senior year. Sage is going to be great at Safety and Elliot is going to bolster the backfield tremendously. He has taken snaps at linebacker, full safety, corner, and even DE and can do it all. Cameron Herring, transfer from Cardinal Mooney, should be a strong linebacker as well and has proven he can tackle and pursue very well. The defense is going to be the rock of this team for a little while. The offense is new and is going to take some time to adjust. I think it will be enough to beat Northwestern and Naples; damn the preseason game, lol. The good news for Venice is that they have 13 days to prepare for SFA and they will be at home. Will it translate to a victory? I don’t know. Only time will tell, but I think Venice can just RIP the W away from SFA, if they want it badly enough and play as well as they can. Go Indians!

  22. Is Venice rebuilding this year? Last years team was one for the ages. SFA is like Bama where it doesnt matter who and how many they graduated, they just reload.

  23. Mitchell is 100-49 vs Pasco County teams all time. And 36-38 against Non-Pasco teams! That should tell you all you need to know.

  24. They have already done that. The winning is already there. Even though it’s against a lot of mediocre competition. What they need is more showcase games. Kids are not gonna want to transfer in or move to the zone to play Gulf, East Lake and Tarpon Springs. They need to be calling out Tech, Jesuit, Armwood, Polk and Orlando powers etc etc. Last year they had non district games against Fivay, Hudson, Leto!!, and River Ridge. And the other one was against Wiregrass and they got their teeth kicked in. Wiregrass was in a district with Tech, Armwood and Wharton. Then Wharton came to Mitchell and took care of business. Mitchell doesn’t get and will continue to not get respect and deservedly so because the coach is content with just being a Pasco power and nothing more.

  25. I know last year's Venice team would give SFA all it could handle. I have no clue what this year's Venice team will do against them. Best of luck!

  27. Pasco County doesn’t have them dudes. They played a heck of a game vs Edgewater but that is gonna be 3 seasons ago. They are good for Pasco. But that’s it. They are good for a round or 2. Trinity is an affluent suburb outside Tampa. They have the resources and fan support. They just don’t have the Jimmys and Joes to compete on a state level. And the coach doesn’t like challenging himself in the non district. They play one decent non district game for their standard (The Villages) and will probably lose that game

  28. One major issue with this is that it will at that point be impacted by preseason rankings (similar to how the college rankings and the starting point bias as I like to call it) That means the algorithm significantly hinges on how good MaxPreps is with their initial rankings which from experience of observing their Florida rankings early in the season are very inaccurate and will create problems I don't think their preseason rankings are good enough to apply something like that to properly combat the issue so removing it all together likely helps focus more on final results instead of crunching score numbers I do understand that margin of victory is important but I also think that the system has too many kinks for it to be used for this purpose especially when I barley trust MaxPreps rankings for what they do already

  29. Yes thats the long held fear but there are so many ways to take that out of consideration mathematically without overcomplicating the formula. You can diminish returns above a certain amount such that there's little benefit to running up the score. A two score victory over a powerful team should be worth way more than a 40 point win vs a weak team, for example. Also, the formula should cap all benefits of margin of victory at the running clock margin because mathematically all values over this are invalid due to the running clock. As a mathematician, it bothers me that margin is always removed by those who fear running up the score since it makes the power index so much more correct.
