  1. My Bulls looked the part tonight. I don’t know what the final was yet cause I left at half but we stamped palmetto. 28-7 at half, defense was nasty, offense needs work but they looked good for a first game. I expect a state championship

  2. That could said about any south Florida power annually but this upcoming Friday will show where they are really at compared to last season

  3. Chaminade is overrated this year. Teams are not mere sums of the number of "starred" players they have listed in 247Sports. Chaminade lost the entire heart of its offense from the last three years. Just because some kid announces on Twitter that he's transferring and 247 has some stars next to his name doesn't mean all things remain equal.

  7. Rankings are a crapshoot in the preseason. A lot of it is just common sense and context clues. Most of the time it’s the same teams that are always good all the time. There will be that mixture of a few surprise teams. Coaching changes are huge because all the talent leaves all the talent flows in. I feel like every single week there were multiple teams dropping out in new teams taking their place. So it will never look the same from the beginning to the end. It’s the same with college.

  9. Obviously it’s a crap shoot in the beginning of the season. Im basing these rankings on a few factors. (Transfers, returners, program stability, potential etc). Some of these rankings there really isn’t much difference between some teams, but someone has to go somewhere. Lol. But anyways here is my starting point 1. STA 2. Chaminade 3. Miami Central 4. Armwood 5. Cocoa 6. AHP 7. Lakeland 8. MNW 9. Venice 10. CCC 11. Mandarin 12. Seminole 13. St Augustine 14. Berkeley Prep 15. Edgewater 16. Norland 17. Lake Mary 18. Jones 19. Tampa Bay Tech 20. Cardinal Newman 21. Monarch 22. Buchholz 23. Bishop Verot 24. Bradford County 25. Homestead

  10. Lol, Nolebull is my whipping boy on another website. He never gives the Bucs any love despite them having the longest continuing public school playoff streak going all the way back to 1994*. Mainland lost a lot from the 2023 team plus their head coach. Travis Roland's first cousin J. Bell is now the new head coach. They've reloaded, but it will take awhile. Also weak Surburban is gone and Metro with Lakeland High and south Florida are back. * Lakeland High's public high school playoff streak started in 1993, but sometime around 2010 their playoff season was disqualified.

  11. Of course. Most teams in dade county would beat vanguard.. I actually like Lakeland this week. If central qb has any pressure on him he will immediately throw the ball away or go out of bounds. Central won't run the ball as much because the new OC likes to throw. But season is here you will see how it all plays out. Final score of west game was 42 to 7.

  12. I just watched their game against Gadsden County and I honestly feel like TBT will break it open on the early if Venice makes the same mistakes they did in the KOC. But I do see them closing the gap and possibly coming back if they can get things rolling offensively before half.

  13. Venice got some key transfers like they always do. Sometimes they do start slow so this would be the week Tech could get them.

  17. I called it. Palmetto for whatever reason always struggles on offense. So I knew the bulls would run away with this. Congrats on da win Brodie

  20. Tampa Bay Tech is a very solid team. But they have weaknesses. The best team I saw play this week at this stage (mid-August) was Jones. They took care of a solid Seminole High team with relative ease. Given they are in 4A, this is their best chance ever to actually take home a state title. Yes, they will have to beat AHP, but to win states you usually have to take down a south Florida power. At least they don't face a murder's row of teams from Broward/Miami.

  21. Score reminds me of some of the beatdowns Central put on the Hawks in a couple of the state title games.

  22. Rankings are for conversation. At this point there are a few really good programs that have shown they will be there again and again. There are others that received lots of transfers and thus are expected to be really good and there are some that are always competitive but rarely get it done in the playoffs. The good thing about it is that if you win your district then you are guaranteed to play playoff football with a shot to win it all no matter where you are ranked. Dillard appears to be strong but if they should be in then a team like a defending state champion who was runner-up the year before (Mainland) should be ahead of them.

  23. the spring game is much different than the KOC, for the reason you cited as well as the fact that three months of summer break separates the really dedicated kids from the ones who'd prefer to eat junk food and play video games all day.
