Big get out of Gator country for Miami. Richt I think will really strengthen their recruiting in FL. We've lost out on too many big time recruits not just in South Fla, but Florida in general.

That's where one of those rules becomes iffy because if you pick up and physically move there isn't much you can do. I don't know though, that's a great question that if such a rule were considered the FHSAA would need to have guidelines on that.

Everyone gets last minute transfers, so if there should be a 365 rule for public to private, make it for all schools. It'd stop the changing of players from team to team that's for sure and keep more kids home like DHS wants, although some you just cant stop they'll go anyways.

I am all for 1 year sit out if you transfer from a public to a private school. Here in NC if you transfer from a public to a parochial(catholic school cause privates similar American Heritage in NC have their own league) you have to sit out a full 365 days before you can play sports. I'm all for that, but the state legislature needs to keep their nose out of HSFB I think last year they wanted to give IMG Academy $2 million dollars!!! Ridiculous!!

Recruiting has always been going on, public and private it is just now more evident with social media like tigerfan1 said. You cannot tell me Miami Central and BTW do not recruit. Even if the coaches aren't recruiting the program recruits itself because kids want to go there and find a way to get there from other schools. I don't think the state needs to get involved in HS sports, leave that to the FHSAA because they know what they're doing and the government does not when it comes to HSFB.

No 1-9, 2-8, or 3-7 team should make the playoffs. PERIOD! Those teams should be replaced by a wild card type team with a winning record or heck even a .500 record. LikeI said on another thread. In three team districts only the champion should advance tovthe playoffs.

The Catholic schools in the NCHSAA are bound by some strict transfer rules. If someone were to transfer in from a public school they would not be eligible to play sports for a full 365 days unless they moved in from out of state.

This is not totally true. Not sure what you mean by 2 associations, as they have one. The NCHSAA the NCISAA is the private school body. NC does have private and public associations, but the private school one controls itself. One can go there and re-class, they give out scholarships etc. The Parochial(fancy word for Catholic) non-boarding schools in NC play with the public schools. One in particular the one I'm actually heavily affliated with up here in NC has been in the public school league for over 40 years with no problems. Here is the way FLA needs to do it ans this is the way NC does it: First you take the top 32, 16 or whatever teams and you seed them based on their record. This bullcrap region switching for regional finals is stupid. If a team has a better record they should get homefield advantage. You seed conference/district champions in the top seeds then followed by 2nd place finishers, and 3rd place finishers. Sometimes fourth place finishers make it, but that isn't that common honestly. Now in the case of a three team district only the champion goes to the playoffs, and four team districts only first place, and second place.

What makes no sense about Samuels is that even if the team is base don recruiting he should still be a 1st teamer!! Look at those offers, they speak for themselves. However, it's all good because Samuels will be getting a big shiny ring in the mail soon and I don't think he is complaining lol

I didn't know that. I agree this is the biggest mistake of the 2015 AP All State Teams.....Samuels played like a 1st team all state CB all year long. I'm honestly shocked.

The Viera QB I saw on film prior to STA game and that kid is ELECTRIC! He deserves it. Cannot say anything about Columbia QB because I never saw him on film so I don't want to make an uneducated statement. Like I said I do love my Raiders, but the Viera kid got robbed plain and simple.
