  1. Ely will not be the laughing stock of Pompano Beach and the alumni, community and current students knows that. See Ely, Boyd Anderson, Deerfield Beach, Dillard and Norland are basketball schools. Football for these school are just an extra bonus for them if they do well. If these schools do bad during football season then they always have basketball season to fall back on. Whereas schools like: Miramar, American and Carol City They're both good at football and basketball so your actually getting 2 sports. Last thing are the schools such as: Jackson, Northwestern, Central and btw. Once football season is over these schools don't have anything to fall back on. I mean you do have track and field, but that sport isn't looked at in the same light as football or basketball and remember these are inner city black schools so softball, baseball, tennis, volleyball, water polo and bowling are way out their in left field.Which makes this the exact reason why these schools take football to the heart.
  2. Dillard is an historically black high school does the alumni have say so's with the school
  3. Hallandale and Boynton Beach are both undefeated with 4-0 records that's why I said if Dillard make the playoff remember only 2 teams get in
  4. To the Dillard person let's say yaw make the playoffs what's your take on them playing one of the big 3. Central. Carol City and Northwestern
  5. I'm surprised being that he's an alumni but I knew something was coming; now he's just the start, guess who's next the head football coach which the alumni didn't want him their to begin with. For those that don't know the alumni practically runs Miami Northwestern as well as Miami Jackson. Remember that one year for Jackson the head coach was fired because they lost that playoff game to they arch rival
  6. What's going to hurt Hallandale is playoff time. Remember Hallandale moved up from 5A to 6A meaning in the 1st round they gotta play one of the big 3 Central, Northwestern and Carol City. Obviously only 2 teams can make the playoffs but hell either team gone be to much for Hallandale. Oh Cardinal Gibbons does have a weak schedule not to mention, Cardinal Gibbons and Hallandale remind me of Boise State from college football all this talk about them yet they played a weak schedule thus far
  7. The only team I can see in Miramar's way is Manatee I had forgot they moved from 7A to 8A which they may not meet until the state game
  8. @ DHS_Panthers what are you trying to say besides district games don't the coaches have a right or choice to schedule whomever they want on the schedule. Let me ask you this.Cardinal Gibbons is 4-0 now do you think it's because they good or they haven't played any good teams so far and the same with Hallandale they record is 4-0 as well.
  9. @ Joshua Wilson yes that would be nice, but Miramar doesn't need that they need to stay focused on going undefeated and making it to states. Unlike a lot of other teams I've watched Miramar and know them very well, with them being nationally ranked they may be get to big headed which is something that we don't need.
  10. Northwestern isn't the same as they used to be, now Carol City for those who forgot used to be the team then Northwestern. Central just starting to be good. Now let me get to Blanche Ely and Glades Central. The reason I said Northwestern would beat them was due to the amount of talent of the teams. Ely hasn't been good since 2003 and Glades Central over the years has went down. Now Carol City beat Northwestern tonight 28-15 and I must admit when the chiefs lost to South Dade and the Bulls beat Raines coming into tonight's game I was a little skeptical because I didn't know how this game would turn out. Last thing to the person who reps Dillard panthers I command you on that and the history and I'mma tell you why. One day I was on yahoo looking up history on btw and to my surprise I seen something with the alumni. Now everybody thinks btw only has 2 football state championships in 2008 and 2012 but they actually have 3. The first one came in 1952 and they had something in 1964-1965 called Dade County City champs I don't know what that mean, but yeah this is my take on things
  11. To the person with the rocket as the default picture, I'm to assume you rep Miami Central and if so........ I'm not a fan but I do want yaw to beat Don Bosco Prep so people can see where football really gets down and that's Florida. Actually let me rephrase that I meant South Florida because in my opinion North Florida doesn't have talented teams.
  12. This is Miramar year, now what they do at the state game is a different story because they been down this route before in 2011. For those who forgot they went 13-0 and then lost to Plant 31-20 making them 13-1 overall record. Oh let me not forget the Raiders. You guys put up a good fight but it just wasn't meant for yaw to win and for those who said blowout hahahahaha yeah right.
  13. Glades Central is not beating Northwestern nor is Blanche Ely. I know Northwestern hasn't been the same since before, but come on now I gotta give the edge to them Bulls and you have to as well. When you look at these teams Northwestern is on another level then them. Oh as for 4 loses I don't see that I'mma say 3 loses one of course being to Aquinas, then btw and Central. Now depending on how they do tonight against Carol City might result in them having 4 loses.
  14. This game is going to be a wash and they both not beating Northwestern
  15. It's going to be hard but shoot it was hard the last 2 years and Miramar got the job done. Now I can't speak on Northwestern getting they ass spanked 38-3, but I can speak on behalf of Miramar which is they not loosing. Now I do pick Miramar to win making it 3 in a row and as for a score I don't have one. If Miramar doesn't win it's going to be by a field goal or touchdown not a blowout.
  16. Btw and Central isn't a good example and I'mma tell yaw why. Btw fans/alumni isn't as big as other schools; remember from 1967-1999 btw was a middle school mind you all the kids had to go to Jackson, then the school reopened as a high in the 1999-2000 year. So the alumni that other schools would generally get at games btw won't. Another thing when they play schools like Carol City, Jackson, Edison and Northwestern all inner city black schools you'd think they have a good turn out on they side but they don't. For a good turn out support you gotta go back to the Orange Bowl days. I remember going to that stadium twice one time I sat on Central side and the other time I sat on Northwestern side. Anyways both sides were packed and loud with tons of energy. Last thing I think schools need all the support they can get, but if you not winning you won't get that. For example, Northwestern used to have tons of people at they games they could be playing Hialeah or Barbara Goleman and they whole side would be packed, now it's the total opposite
  17. Jackson is a good team and I've seen them play before, but one thing about them in my opinion is they have to be leading. For instance last season when they played Carol City. Now I'm not knocking the Chiefs, but Jackson should of won that game and the game against Northwestern it's like they just gave up towards the end. Another thing in order for Jackson to be good as in making it to Orlando they need support. I don't know about anybody else, but Jackson alongside Northwestern has a good alumni/fan base. I remember last season when Jackson played Immokalee in the playoff game. Do you people realize every play good or bad Immokalee side was hype where Jackson side was QUIET. As for American Heritage game I do see Jackson beating them. Oh and Norland hasn't been the same since Duke left just saying..........
  18. I agree Miramar has played sorry teams for the 1st 2 games of the season and they gone beat Plantation Thursday night, but the real game for them is going to be against St. Thomas Aquinas. Although, we have beaten them 2 years in a row straight..... so going up against them won't seem to daunting of a task. As for Cypress Bay we always play them good, the only real bad lost against them in my opinion was the 2012 playoff game. Now as for the rest of these schools I can see them starting out the way they have, except for Boyd Anderson I don't know what's going on with the Cobras.
  19. @ StaRaiders2014 Your right and that game has been played since 1967 which at that point they were the only black schools in Miami until the 80"s.The coach from Jackson did get fired that year and I think it was because Jackson hadn't beaten Northwestern since 1987, so your talking about beating a school and going to states in the same year which would of been 1st in school's history that would of been huge.
  20. @ Dhs_Panthers I agree with you on Dillard going 10-0 or 9-1, but what's your opinion on them moving from 5A to 6A which now the competition get's tougher in the playoffs. The 1st round for Dillard could be against Carol City, Central or Northwestern, I say these three teams because they're the best in they district which only 2 will come out.
  21. One of the biggest rivalries would have to be Northwestern and Jackson and the annual game is known as the soul bowl game. Back in the days both teams were good and marching bands. Not to mention, both were in the same district ranked in Florida numbers 1 and 2 and one year they had 48,000 people show up to they game. As of now the game has went downhill due to the bands and football. Now the rivalry is with Northwestern and Central or Northwestern and Carol City. In Broward I see Miramar and Cypress Bay and Miramar and St. Thomas Aquinas, which by the way these are the 3 top teams in Broward. Also I hear Blanche Ely and Dillard is a good rivalry which is known as the soul bowl game, but I don't know to much about those schools. Oh last but not least is the annual muck bowl between Pahokee and Glades Central which is a good one and a documentary was even aired on them on espn.
