  1. I knew that beatdown was coming when Plant's team bus left at 1:00 PM for the 5.5 hour bus ride.
  2. That was a pretty bad Plant team. But Coldcutt did whoop that ass for sure. Coldcutt is a very good program. Right up, there, IMO, with the Miami Centrals of the world. About as good as you can get from a public school perspective without being a super-recruited juggernaut.
  3. Awesome. I remember following this game as a 9th grader. Couldn't get down there, but Channel 8 had highlights.
  4. Remember though Blake did not exist from about 1972 until about 1997 or 98.
  5. I think this is cool. This is how HS football was until 1963 in FL. Teams played in big conferences. They played for conference titles. Sports writers voted on the State Champion.
  6. Gametapes used to sell them. But they went the way of the Dodo.
  7. He landed an eligible QB!! Congrats. I'm seeing big strides this year. 7-5 here we come!
  8. I'm sure they could have their pic.
  9. Plant better step up its recruiting. Gonzaga is no joke.
  10. I was thinking about doing that for Robinson this year, but not even time and not enough organization

  12. James Laughead (July 21, 1909 – 1978)[citation needed] was a photographer whose style defined the art of posed sports photography.[1] He developed techniques for posing athletes to appear as if they were in action.[2][3][4] He coined the term "huck 'n' buck" to describe the style.[5] His photos appeared in Life and in Sports Illustrated. His style was of posing players was often imitated, and influenced many of the sports photographers of his era.
  13. This type of photography was called Huck n buck.
  14. Best UF-Miami game in Tampa 35 years ago. Kosar to Eddie Brown!
  15. We got wayyyyy of topic. Let's be clear. I liked Willie T. at USF. It was a good fit. He is NOT a good fit at FSU so far. The color of his skin has nothing to do with his inability to recruit or coach on Saturday at the FSU level. I WANT Willie to go 15-0 next year and win a title. But I think he'll have a hard time going 7-5. That's just reality. A lot of this has to do with current FSU admin, which seems to be fairly incompetent when it comes to recent football-related affairs.
  16. Not many left. With the departures of Sean Callahan at Armwood, Corky Rogers at Bolles, and of course George Smith at STA, other than Castle and Garcia, I can't think of any. The old timers are gone. Joe Kinnan and Paul Maechtle (out of retirement and coaching Cardinal Mooney) also come to mind. Castle and Garcia were easy, but I can't think of even one more.
  17. Armwood gets N. Gwinnett. Maybe Laness would let Plant schedule JTC?
  18. The hell he didn't. He retired in 82 not 62. He was one of the first SEC coaches to include black players on his team.
  19. Parent thing. If Bowden was still there and successful, I'm sure his parents would have had no issue with FSU.
  20. Willie is the man in charge and the Noles failed to perform. He cannot recruit a QB. These things are on him. I hope he succeeds, but it does not look good. As for Gator B-Ball, their coach can stay as long as he wants. BD had them humming, but he needed a different path. Gator basketball is not as important to that school as FSU football is to it. So apples and oranges. Have a good day. Enjoy the 500 if you're going.
  21. Well, his shitty coaching did plunge them into the worst start in 50 years and the first losing season in 40, so you tell me..
  22. BD has national championships.
  23. The IMG campus is a HUGE upgrade over Pahokee, FL.
