  1. Thanks for the updates on Osby, I hope he does your team proud Friday night. I have a feeling VB will do well in the playoffs. Heritage is a decent team but VB can manage the game if the players stay with their assignments and finish the plays. No slowing down in routes or letting up on blocking early. Stay hungry for 4 quarters. Be apart of that winning play.
  2. Heritage is a better team this year than any I can remember in the past. Though I still have my doubts about them beating VB. VB is a better team than their record shows and if they can pull together for 4 quarters of football I don't see any team running them off the field. There are some good ass teams in 4S. It's going to be a blood bath. I'm calling Venice against Buchholz in the ship.
  3. I don't expect Cocoa to be #1 at the end of the playoffs because teams like Lake Mary/Mainland/STA/Venice/Bucholtz/etc... will have a tougher schedule. And for the record, you can say any team can beat any team but unless they play each other you don't really know. Teams can have a bad or great game any given week.
  4. To answer the question on SOS + Win / Loss and the the reason Cocoa jumped Chaminade. IMO Cocoa's Strength of schedule is 41.8 while Chaminade's strength of schedule is 32.6. Chaminade's Opponents win loss record is 52 wins and 42 losses. Cocoa's Opponents win loss record is 71 wins and 28 losses. Cocoa's opponents WIN to LOSS and SOS is greater than Chaminade's. No If and or buts about it. Cocoa played a tougher schedule, not just a couple of tough games but 7 tough games and more and a few one after another. SOS is very important for judging a rank in any system. In My Opinion these games Chaminade played and their SOS are what killed them in the ranking's. #4130 Lakewood (St. Petersburg, FL) (57-0), #8459 Avant Garde Academy (Hollywood, FL) (64-0), #11776 St. John Paul II Academy (Boca Raton, FL) (69-0). I'm Not sure winning or losing to STA had much to play into it. STA's SOS is 39 and their opponents win/loss record is 62 wins and 35 losses. Cocoa's weakest SOS opponents were #1082 Titusville (FL) (28-3), #2117 Palm Bay (Melbourne, FL) (49-14), #8070 Astronaut (Titusville, FL) (63-0). Astronaut, Palm Bay and Titusville are district games and required. Rockledge was the weakest SOS non district team but a Rival game, known as the Bar-B-Que game. Hope this helps.
  5. I agree. Scary thing for Cocoa is HC Schneider maybe heading to Georgia to coach. He turns over a team that returns a lot of key playmakers and a possible record setting QB. If Ryan stays he likely coaches Cocoa to another great season.
  6. I'll be cheering for VB and #44 Osby. I know him from Palm Bay wrestling. A good young man and a hard worker.
  7. They work hard and play with a lot of heart. Also, thank you Dan. Hopefully we will see Mainland in the finals. They're a very good team.
  8. Brackets by class. https://fhsaa.com/sports/2020/2/11/FB_Brackets.aspx
  9. I know you meant it as a joke but they were awarded co national champs in 2017. I couldn't resist... lol
  10. Didn't UCF beat the team that beat the National champs? NCAA officially recognizes UCF football’s national championship claim UCF’s 2017 college football national title claim is no longer a statement from the Florida university or it’s fan base. The Knights are now in the NCAA record book as co-national champions with Alabama for the 2017 season. Colley Matrix ranked UCF as the national champions for the 2017 season in its final poll. 11. I know I started out lurking and then one day I just decided to post. Welcome to high school football on the internet. Go tigers, go Brevard. And a special shout out to the Commodores for having such a good season.
  12. I find there's nothing easy about being an official for a game. Only thing that makes it easier is the love for the game.
  13. VB definitely has talent. You could see moments of great talent on offense and defense. If I'm the coach, I'm at practice yelling "Finish your plays".
  14. And that could get players hurt more than if playing a team closer to their abilities.
  15. Maxpreps does a national record so it is used by almost everyone that does HS football. I would say that counts as important information. Probably more important than most state websites.
  16. Nevermind MC is already out of the top 25. Ranked 49th.
  17. Norland proved they are good this year, MC is still top 10 in my book, but Not sure how they lost a 20 point lead in the second half, because of sloppy play? Was it 3 turnovers MC had in the second half? However I think they had the toughest schedule in Florida on the level of IMG's (who we don't mention here). Wonder if CalPreps is going to boot MC from the national top 25? http://calpreps.com/2023/ratings/National_all25.htm Good job on the Florida top 25. And good luck to the Noles... You know I'm a UF guy and this year I'm just watching the talent... So I'll be a Fan for FSU till they play UF even though I know JT and that O-line is going to put a hurt on us this year.
  18. Did he also do stats for your area?
  19. I agree with JamBun I believe it was APKnewsguy... Loved FlaVarsity back in the day. Some very knowledgeable posters. I think the last guy I talked to was Silver King... I know he posted here a few times but I had the feeling it wasn't the same for most of the posters from FV that came over here.
  20. I'm glad to see other Brevard teams playing very good football against Cocoa. Eau Gallie, Titusville and hopefully Rockledge help each other prepare for the playoffs. Have to give a shout out to Heritage also... These schools have a chance to showcase Brevard.
  21. Probably didn't b**** because there was no high school football web sites back then. There was one back when you had to use a 2400 baud modem to connect to the internet. Had maybe 5 guys total that would login maybe once a week. That lasted about 6 months. Season ended and the site was dead. No bitchen though.
  22. I don't know but you could probably use it.
  23. I think most Florida fans of football like Pahokee. A lot of good history with that program.
  24. Refs are like cops. It's a fraternity, mess with one, mess with em all. Looking back at STA refs... I'm wondering if there are some lingering effects? Should that be the case then the Refs are also messing with kids future's. That is not cool...
