Just don't make a wrong turn in that area at night and get lost. You could end up with problems. Not saying it's bad at Traz, but it gets crazy at times. Not sure why Cocoa didn't do the return trip, It's not like Cocoa to slide out of a deal. Only thing I can assume is a scheduling problem happened. MC beat Cocoa by 20 that year but had to forfeit the game. We had Colerain in Ohio, Dallas Skyline in Texas and them MC at home, all in a row. It was a grueling schedule for 37 man roster. The MC game was a good game. MC's defense was lights out... no getting around that, they scored a FG in the 1st quarter, then run for 2 TD's in the second, Blanked in the 3rd and then another FG in the 4th. It was over though by the 3rd because Cocoa only move the ball past midfield maybe twice. Cocoa may have had less total yards in that game since as far back as I can remember. Still no excuse for not returning the game and playing MC at home and taking the medicine, good or bad. When 2 good teams play at Traz, the place is packed. It used to be a little scary walking around in the parking lot, but there are a lot of po po there now.

I'll Pick Venice as my lone sleeper. They've been quiet lately.

Well Cocoa did take them into OT at Traz Powell and then a real squeaker where BTW won by 2 points the year we lost our FG kicker in Cocoa. More than likely we will see you in Cocoa for the Regional s this year since we came to Miami last year. Should be a good show for the fans. Just wondering... The Tornado's have not lost a championship since they moved down to the same class as Cocoa. Did the school split in 11? I know hey were always a good team when they were playing up a few classes, but why did the school drop down in enrollment/classification? We had to add 7th and 8th grades to stay in 4A. Next year we will probably start an 8th grader at RB on varsity if he is as good as he seems to be. In 2014 we started an 8th grader at Kicker. We just don't have a lot to pick from.

The Bishop will play Cedar Hill in Texas. It will be a big time game for both teams. I expect Bishop to win by only a few points. The Bishop will put a lot of focus on that game and then have 4 days to get ready for Cocoa. Cocoa will play Trinity at home. It will be a good game and it could go Cocoa's way if they play to their talent. Cocoa will have one of the best RB's in the nation this year if the O-line can make holes for Pratt to run. Pratt put the most running yards on IMG of any RB last year. Bishop will see Cocoa at their home field in Vegas. I feel it will be Cocoa's hardest game this side of the playoffs, but if they believe then nothing is impossible.

It's a possibility, but I have nothing to do with scheduling. I just write about Brevard teams from time to time.

I can't find a full schedule for Mater Academy. Are they playing a full schedule? Maybe they could call Cocoa for a mid season game?

Columbia graduated several very good players off defense but return 2 of their top 3 tacklers. They lost 3 of their top receivers but return one with lots of game time. Columbia also returns a better than average QB and RB. That alone will put up several TD's. Columbia should excel in the running game this year, and if they can develop several competent WR's, and a decent punter/kicker, they should cruise into the playoffs. Bolles will have a decent offense this year. I expect they will score 2 or 3 TD's. Bolles is a team that reloads, so they will have to develop the defense before they play Columbia. Bolles vs Columbia should be one of the better games in the North this season. IMHO, Columbia will have several good games this season starting with Apopka, then Camden and Bolles, then top it off with First Coast. Several other teams that will make it a fun season to watch are Fletcher, and Escambia. My guess will be Columbia in a decent game. Columbia 35, Bolles 24. Good Luck Columbiafan...

After looking over Bolles roster I'm in agreement that they probably win 4A north.

Should be interesting this year in 4A. Raines QB, DeBiase, will return as a Sr. this year.He threw for over 1800 yards last year, but lost 4 WR's to Graduation returning only one starter at WR. Raines also loses their 2 best RB's. On the plus side. They have depth, and lots of it. Last year they had over 120 players listed. That translated into desire to win a position and going hard. I think Raines beats Dunnellon easily, and 50/50 against Bolles this year. A good match up against Glades Central. Glades is making progress since dropping out of the regional finals at the hands of Booker T. Don't over look Clewiston. They lost their best player (running back) and their QB to graduation, but they bring back almost an entire team. If they can get a decent QB and good RB to fill the spot, then they will be very good. Dunnellon and Sumter are just to soft to be in the hunt.

Raines has been building slowly over the last few years. They tasted the finals last year and will want more this year.

Kew West High is a pretty cool high school. Decent weather all year round. A lot of military families to mix in with the thousands of Conch's that live on the Islands. It's where my wife was born.

BTW plays STA and AHP in the first 3 weeks. That leaves at lest one out. Then Central week 6, so there is that one too.

Do you wonder of they go to BTW because it is the easiest class to win a championship in? All you have is Bolles with the occasional Raines in the North and a decent but not elite Cocoa in the south to go through.

Anybody rep'ing Dr. Phillips? They have a lot coming back this season and were on a run at the end of the year losing by 1 point to Osceola. I can see them giving it a go this year. They've had talent but seem to flounder in the playoffs. Any guesses?

I like Armwood a lot. They are the Miami Central of Central Florida.

Looks like USF is recruiting him pretty good. Maybe USF is giving him a shot at playing QB, Florida wanted him on defense or as an athlete but not as a QB.

No Flag. The sad part was that the ref was looking in that direction. It cost Cocoa more than just the game. It made Cocoa look really bad. Judson was moving the ball before the hit. Not so much after.

Richardson is fast getting the ball out and was on target by the end of the season. He will be even better this year. Their quick passes and QB runs will create 5 and 10 yard gains more times than not. They thrived on the short pass last year. When Harris was QB they had 3 very talented WR's and were torching defenses with 20, 30, and 40 yard passes all game long. The 2013 team was one of the best all time. Harris was no slouch, he could read and run.

I totally agree with James here. IMG have, and will take cheap shots. Just ask Judson who missed 2 games with cracked ribs after completing a pass. The LB was clearly 5 steps away and still hit Judson in the ribs with a diving tackle. They were supposed to play again this year, but I think Wilks told IMG to take a hike.
