  3. With the new playoff format being discussed and teams allowed to schedule any 10 games, what are some old rivalries you want to see come back that might be on hiatus for various reasons.

Here in Jax, a few that come to mind

    Bolles vs Trinity

    Bolles vs UC

    Bolles vs Bishop Kenny

    Bishop Kenny vs Episcopal

    Ed White vs Lee

    Ed White vs Westside

    Lee vs Paxon

    Orange Park vs Westside

    Oakleaf vs Middleburg

    Baker County vs Columbia

    Orange Park vs Columbia

    Clay vs Keystone Heights

  4. Since we are fixing the playoff system, perhaps we could fix the districts to

    CLASS 8A

District 5: Cypress Creek, Dr. Phillips, Freedom, Oak Ridge, Olympia

District 6: Alonzo, Manatee, Newsome, Palm Harbor, Riverview, Sarasota Riverview

District 7: Gateway, George Jenkins, Haines City, Osceola, Ridge

District 8: Centennial, FP Central, Treasure Coast, Vero Beach

The problem: Anybody in District 6 has to drive through District 7 to get to District 5

    Solution

Switch 6 and 8 and have 6 travel to nearby 7 since they would have to travel through them anyway

Make 5 travel to 8 which wouldn't be going out of the way that much

    CLASS 6A

The problem: District 13 consists of Deltona, Mainland, Matanzas, New Smyrna Beach, Pine Ridge, Seabreeze. Since when is Volusia County in the South.

    Solution

The number listed is the current district, obviously that would change

    NORTH II

District 5: Gainesville, Lake Weir, Leesburg, Ocala Forest, Vanguard

District 13: Deltona, Mainland, Matanzas, New Smyrna Beach, Pine Ridge, Seabreeze

District 8: Auburndale, Lake Gibson, Lake Region, Lake Wales, Sebring

District 14: Bayside, Heritage, Jensen Beach, Okeechobee, Eau Gallie Sebastian River

    SOUTH I

District 6: Land O'Lakes, Mitchell, Springstead, Sunlake, Pasco

District 7: Armwood, Blake, Brandon, Chamberlain, Hillsborough, King

District 9: Boca Ciega, Clearwater, Dixie Hollins, Largo, Northeast, Osceola

District 10: Cape Coral, Charlotte, Ida Baker, Island Coast, North Ft Myers, Port Charlotte

    SOUTH II

District 11: East Lee County, Estero, Fort Myers, Lehigh

District 12: Barron Collier, Golden Gate, Naples, Palmetto Ridge

District 15: Boyd Anderson, Boyton Beach, Dilliard, Northeast

District 16: Carol City, Central, Hialeah Miami Lakes, Norland, Northwestern

    CLASS 5A

The problem: Since when is Orlando and Lake counties in the SOUTH

    Solution

    NORTH II

District 5: Clay, Menendez, Palatka, Ridgeview, Orange Park, Baker County

District 6: Belleview, Eastside, North Marion

District 7: Central, Citrus, Crystal River, Hernando, Lecanto, Nature Coast, Weeki Wachee

District 13: Bishop Moore, Eustis, Poinciana, South Lake, Tavares

  5. I tweeted this out a couple days ago, North Florida Educational Institute (NFEI) out of Jacksonville is starting up a football program for the 2016 season.

The principal is former Gator All-American guard/forward Stacey Poole, the school went to the Class 2A Final Four in basketball about two years ago.

  6. At first glance I was like most people this system is way to complicated but as I read it and talked to Mr Beasley I began to understand it a lot more. It's starting to grow on me.

It's quite simple you win your district you are guaranteed to make the playoffs, if you are a runner-up you are not guaranteed a spot but can still earn a wild card berth.

Think of it this way for once, EVERY game counts, the rivalry games can mean a little something more now.

  7. Lakeland is the by far the best environment and facility I have ever been to in Florida. From the fire engine escort, the bell, the cannons, the checkerboard end zones, the fans standing in the end zone bleachers heckling the visiting team as they warm up, packed loud crowds and those orange and black jerseys its hard not to get pumped up for a game there. Small town football at its best.

Columbia is one of the best small town stadiums I have been to in North Florida. The band playing Eye of the Tiger, the fans are loud and usually huge, the 25 second clock is unique too. The dual press boxes are a blessing for all media. Although I did have one bad encounter there I wont hold it against them forever.

St. Augustine is the typical small town atmosphere, I love going to Foots Brumley Stadium. The crowd is always packed and always into the cheerleaders and band and dance team which always do an outstanding job keeping the crowd in the game. The Yellow Jacket mascot always keeps my daughter entertained lol which is helpful to me..

Clay and Palatka are very similar to St. Augustine also with the community getting into the games and for the most part support. Although lately Palatka isn't what it once was in the 90s.
