He also was a long time assistant coach and interm head coach in the 2004 season at Columbia
  2. You didn't play Chaminade this year which is the best Chaminade team argubly they have ever fielded And since you know Vero when's the last time Vero has played a ROAD regular season game in Broward or Dade County?

Columbia through 2 rounds of the playoffs have given up an average of 10 points per game on teams that scored during the season an average of 25 and 31 points Columbia at home this year has given up an average of 9.6 points per game I'm not overlooking the Indians but I think the entire state of Florida is overlooking Columbia
  4. Nice to see IMG hasn't completely lost their status as a national powerhouse but overall that's all that game was I'm still not impressed because nothing about what I saw with IMG tells me they are as ahead of the rest of the country as they should with the resources they "supposedly" have

It was less actually but while Columbia offense didn't play great against Escambia here's how the defense has played the past 2 postseason games Lincoln Averaged 31 points per game through the season Held to 6 Escambia Averaged 25 points per game through the regular season and round 1 of playoffs Held to 13 points (Escambia scored 2 points on a safety after Columbia kicked a punt out of back of endzone) Isn't there a saying defense wins championships? Well Columbia defense through first 2 rounds have given up an average of 10 points through 2 playoff games while Columbia defense and special teams directly contributed to 14 points BOTH the first and second round of playoffs If Columbia defense keeps playing like this the offense won't have to do much for Columbia to win

It is Which is what I saw in the preseason as even then I felt there were easily 5 different teams I saw with a shot at Winning not including any potential dark horses that could come later on to the deep playoff run

Well most wrote Columbia off as a program with no path after they lost to Union Even @Floridaatlantic1claimed Columbia had no chance in HELL of competing with any of the top teams, if that's the case how could Columbia be overrated when very few people thought Columbia has any shot of actually getting this far?

Favorite is one thing I see front runner as a different meaning To me being a front runner means there's a significant gap between that team and everyone else STA is a front runner in 3M Cocoa is a front runner in 2S Chaminade Madonna is a front runner in 1M I don't think anyone in 3S is a front runner because the gap is too small between the top teams

It would say they lost to an overrated team What would it say about Lake Wales if 13-0 comes crashing down against 3 loss Columbia who would be the best team they have played all year?

Columbia to Lake Wales is around 2 hours They went to Escambia which is 4 1/2 and won

There may be doubts about Columbia but I can argue there are doubts about EVERY team left There is no true front runner in 3S, every team has their baggage but we just saw a team last Friday who a) had a better schedule than Lake Wales and b) had looked more impressive with their weak schedule (Pine Forest) lose to a team who Columbia would likely be favored by on Friday To assume Columbia has no path to the title would be just as dishonest as Lake Wales has still yet to prove they are a true title threat

Escambia is also better than anyone Lake Wales has beat Columbia also hung with a TCA team for 4 quarters that is better than Lake Wales Columbia defense is better than anyone Lake Wales has played, who's to say Lake Wales can beat a top 50 team in Florida when they haven't beaten one all year?

People still think Columbia is the same team who lost to Union County in week 2 and haven't gotten better I hope people continue to underestimate them because they will learn the hard way that record doesn't mean shit if you haven't beaten anyone good to get it (Lake Wales)

Who's gonna stop them? Lake Wales who's best win is a barely top 100 FL team in Sebring?
  15. I'm very glad that Columbia is hosting but I said for weeks that this talk of Pine Forest being the clear cut favorite wasn't accurate They are a good team without a doubt but "clear frontrunner?" Absolutely not
  16. Pine Forest was never as good as some claimed they were but even so that was still a pretty good upset
  17. Okay so Columbia after the kneel down on final plays would have went below 20
  18. Well I'm checking because prior to the victory formation kneel down by Columbia last night they had 20 yards of total offense in the win over Escambia last night in Pensacola I'm curious if they would have set a record for fewest offensive yards in a road postseason win in state history
  19. Does anyone know what the record in Florida postseason is for fewest offensive yards in a playoff win?
  20. Any team who played on Monday had their game moved to Saturday by the FHSAA to lessen the impact of a short week
  21. It's technically against the rules in all games however it's typically not enforced by most officials associations Really the rule itself is petty to begin with but that's another matter
