  1. haha I went off topic since this is in Washington state, but it is football.
  2. It's why I said "maybe" lol I don't think anyone is gonna stop Armwood this year from the panhandle.
  3. Choctaw - no Niceville - no Navarre - maybe
  4. Choctaw lost a few good players, I think they're rebuilding. The open enrollment law may hurt Fort Walton even more since FWB has fallen under and kids who weren't able to bypass the transfer requirement can now transfer freely to Choctaw or Niceville or Baker or even Navarre if they want to make the drive. Niceville flopped against Tate last year, which was kinda odd. But they lost a few great commits like Eli Stove and Romeo Finley, not sure who is upcoming on the school now. I gotta ask my coworker who goes to Niceville how they look this year. Navarre was supposed to make it to regionals and above, but it came crashing down. Most guys should be returning so I don't know if they'll be undefeated, but they will make a splash.
  5. Here in the panhandle for my county, Niceville is the most hated school since they win. Not just from Crestview, but other schools hate them too. That's just the price of being good though.
  6. http://www.seattletimes.com/sports/high-school/bellevue-football-banned-from-postseason-for-4-years/ Recruiting scandal ahoy, I read the independent report and apparently administration high up didn't even do anything about Bellevue. As well as coaches falsifying player's addresses to remain eligible etc. Curious on what you guys/girls think of this?
  7. Basketball is long over, but coach Greg Watson who left to take an Alabama coaching job has made his way back to coach the boys. Watson posted a district title and 2 back to back elite 8 appearances in his time at Crestview, I'm excited to see what he will do for Crestview again! On the girls front, Steve Williams from Paxton brings state championship and final four experience. Two amazing coaches, this should put boys back into contention after having an average season, while girls will come up!
  8. Niceville football in Northwest Florida is done through http://www.thenewfishradio.com/ Arty is an awesome guy, right now it's baseball season. http://www.teamline.cc/sport_schedule?teamcode=9374&eventcode=59 here is an archive of all the games from the past year football, baseball included.
  9. Grats! Knew the Panthers were gonna go far this season! Hats up to them for all the hard work.
  10. Well it's over! 56-54 Largo takes over. That's always to hardest, to lose by one possession. I can imagine that was a great game all around, but Largo wins and Pensacola goes home. Dillard remains my 6A pick for championship. Lincoln loses by 6 against St. Petersburg 71-65. Agh it's tough, they were my favorite after Bartow is out. To keep the picks going, I'll go for Blanche Ely to make a back to back repeat.
  11. Indeed Blanche has played a few tournaments and went against out of state schools, which gives them prep to go against anything. Lincoln and Melbourne along with St. Petersburg (who played 1 tournament with out of state schools) are all playing close by schools. Although, Leon is always a tough rivalry for Lincoln no matter the sport. Out of it all, I think Lincoln has a decent shot at state, Blanche will come back although I could be wrong and the sleeper Melbourne proves me wrong. Or St. Petersburg beats Lincoln, but I do not know anything about St. Petersburg which is why I am quick to pick a local favorite... (well two hours away, but I'm moving to Tallahassee for school so I will try to get to some of Lincoln's games) Dillard is the pick for 7A. While I am going against a local favorite, Pensacola just hasn't proven to me at least they are a contender.
  12. Well it's here, and WOW I like how close I get with these point spreads. 7A. Lincoln comes out on top 57-54, and folks if you look at my prediction, I was guessing a 3 pt difference originally! Prediction: 52-49. Actual Score: 57-54 Bartow loses to Melbourne in overtime 58-55, with Bartow being knocked out, my follow up pick is Lincoln to take the crown... however, Blanche Ely remains and they are a threat for a back to back championship. PREDICTION: Lincoln beats St. Petersburg by 10, 66-56. 6A Pensacola gets a 6pt edge after overtime against Gainesville, 45-39. I figured it was a good game and it definitely looked like a good game. Predictions: Pensacola beats Largo by 7 pts. 47-40.
  13. They came and they conquered. 7A. Lincoln beats Leon in a close bout at 57-52. Good crosstown rivalry. And the Trojans advance to the semifinals where they will face Creekside for a chance to the final 4! Lincoln beats Creekside 52-49. Bartow moves passed Freedom 56-52. Another close game, but I still have my hopes they will outshoot Melbourne. Bartow beats Melbourne 44-40. 6A So I told you folks Pensacola would edge Choctaw, but not by the this amount. Pensacola beats Choctaw in 27 point blowout and moves on. Wow, I think Pensacola has a chance for state. They face Gainesville up next. Im going with Pensacola because they played good when they fought Crestview, but I cannot comment on Gainesville style of play. However, Im thinking a cool 10 pts with Pensacola edgeing again. 67-57.
  14. So the games were played. 7A. Niceville losses to a Leon 79-70. Like I mentioned, it's a game that can go either way, but Niceville played hard and kept it close to 9 pts in the end. Leon advances in the end though. Navarre losses in a 23 point game. Not surprised here, Lincoln is a consistent playoff team. A good season from Navarre though. In the bottom, Blanche Ely comes out from 57-52. I would have gone to this game if I was in the south, a close one at that however Blanche pulls ahead and moves on. Bartow wins by 10 over Sickles. and I should have edited, is my pick for State Championship of 7A. Bartow moves on. Moving into round 2, sweet 16. Lincoln takes it away from Leon and heads to regionals. I'm suspecting a 20 pt high game with Lincoln sealing the win. 44-21 Lincoln. 6A So wow a 36 point blowout, I figured Fort Walton would edge it, but did not see this coming. Pensacola moves on. Choctaw beats Pine Forest in 11. Didn't see it, but I suspected they played well. Choctaw vs Pensacola. This will be a good game to see, both teams are great and again will go either way. Despite going against what I'm rooting for, I think Pensacola edges Choctaw by 4 in a close battle. 67-63 Pensacola. I cannot comment on other parts of the bracket, but my pick in 6A is Dillard to take it all.
  15. Crestview is out, I should have added haha. But, Choctaw, Niceville, and Fort Walton are in so as a fellow county man I root for those teams to play a splash in the playoffs. Kind of funny since Niceville and Crestview are rivals in every sport, but I saw a few Niceville folks a couple years ago during Crestview's first playoff run. Yea, I think you guys have a chance to take 6A. Gainesville is the only threat from north Florida since they seem to make it every year.
  16. Well, Crestview had a good run. Lots of steam going in the first half, but the second half of the season fizzled out. Still proud of the team, since I am a bulldog! I do not know 1A-5A or 8A teams, I'm only focusing on 7A and 6A. However, if anyone knows them please contribute. would love to have more discussion on those classes. 6A - From my side of the bracket, Choctaw vs Pine Forest and Pensacola vs Fort Walton. Pensacola is the top team right now, however I would not be surprised to see Fort Walton taking the semifinal spot due to how good they have played. I'm taking Fort Walton 44-39. It'll be a close one for sure, but ultimately Fort Walton plays better ball and comes out on top. The next game is Choctaw vs Pine Forest. I have seen Pine Forest do some good things, but I think the Choctaw squad is loaded and ready. It'll be a far game by 20 points, 59-35. As far as the region is concerned Gainesville is the only threat from state semifinals if any team from the panhandle wants to go onto the state championship. 7A - Bartow remains and Blanche Ely is back again... should be a great run. Bartow is number 1 based off the math, and I'm looking at them to make a run. Niceville vs Leon for regional semifinals. Leon sometimes pops in, but they aren't a consistent playoff team. I think Niceville will play a good run, but I feel like this game could really go either way. I believe Niceville will have the edge and keep tempo good while minimizing turnovers. A close 54-49 for Niceville. Navarre vs Lincoln. I don't think Navarre has a chance, not to say they are a good team. But Lincoln from Tallahassee is a great team and plays really hard. The last two years Crestview has had to battle hard to win against them and get to regional finals. I think Lincoln comes out in a blow out. Highest is 30 pts, probably 64-32. edit: Osceola and Oviedo moved up a class to 8A.
  17. Me either, they have had pretty good records. Last year they lost to Gainesville in the Regional semis, I think that's why they haven't been ranked.
  18. 6A same as Dillard and Crestview. I am great, just busy with college and work haha. It is crunch time though!
  19. Dang man Dillard is just going off!!! Hats off to the team for a great season. Crestview has gotten two wins recently, lost to Fort Walton in a close 61-62 match. I haven't had time to post about much here, but the record is 14-8 after 2 wins. and 1-3 in district. I think crestview needs to get a good start in the district tournament to get a playoff spot. Choctaw is going to compete, they are 1-3 as well, so it's going to be a really close game if we go against them. Bulldogs still got this though I think the slump is shaken off! Pensacola is 14-0 in district, and 25-3 overall. I think they have a shot at state.
  20. Yea if i remember correctly because of coach hick's time at Niceville he is considered on a certain postition which allows the county to save money, but also can keep coach hicks as the coach since his retirement has technically kicked in.
  21. The Fort Walton loss I was at, it was little things and turnovers, but I don't know what happened in the other games. I checked one of the news stories about another district rival game, seems like defense is getting softer and there isn't much box out so the rival team gets second chance shots. EDIT: So Fort Walton clinches the top seed for the district, Crestview lost 72-71. So the scoring deficits aren't bad, my friend said it was the little things in tonight's game.
  22. What happened to the Bulldogs you may ask? A 12-7 record overall, with a 1-2 district record. I for one am optimistic this is just a slump, but I really wonder what happened. Many of you know I was hyping up Crestview! I feel like there is a chance still though, just need to adjust and keep going. Losses so far. Choctaw 84-73 Fort Walton 62-60 Niceville 66-49 West Florida loss came out 72-62 though, there is a winning drive. On one hand I'm afraid, there is one more district game the 19th of January, Crestview needs a 2-2 record. On the other hand, the guys will slump it off and go in harder and faster. Whether the playoffs end, or Crestview goes in. I will always be a proud bulldog.
