I was at the South Miami/Flanagan game last night. In the last 2 minutes of OT in that game vs. Flanagan, South Miami had two what appeared to be serious injuries to two of their big men. One looked like an ankle or knee injury (he went out) , the other was a clear cut separated or dislocated shooting shoulder. With these injuries, I think South Miami will have there hands full with Sarasota Riverview.

In the other 8A matchup, I am leaning Coral Springs. Coral Springs is a very battle tested team. Springs went right down to the last seconds vs. what could be the 6A Champion in Dillard and what could be the 7A champion in Ely. They also just beat the defending 8A State Champions (Wellington) on their Home Court , which was their first (and last) Home Loss this year.

In 7A, I will have to do a little more reading up on but what stands out to me on quick glance is Ely's schedule strength vs. the other 7A teams. Not even close. Does not mean Ely rolls but they have surely played the hardest schedule heading in.

In 6A , same thing. The schedule strength of Largo, Pensacola and Deltona is a joke compared to Dillard's schedule. Sorry to word it like that but it is what it is...It is so hard to evaluate a team like Pensacola who are a very impressive 31-3 on the year , but their two best in-state wins are vs. Choctawhatchee and Pine Forest. Dillard could very well win both of their remaining games by double-digits....

In 5A , Bishop Kenny and Tampa Jesuit should be a great match, but I am leaning Bishop Kenny there. Poinciana has played a very hard schedule and I like them to slip by a very solid Zephyrhills team.

4A- has a couple of great matchups that I think will go down to the wire. Both Holy Trinity and Westminster Christian are playing great ball of late and coming off wins vs. what most would say better teams (Trinity Prep and St. Andrews). Bolles vs Tampa Catholic , I will lean Bolles and also think the winner of this game takes 4A!

3A - I think First Academy will edge Westminster Academy but it will not be a walk in the park.... Archbishop Carroll vs. Windmere Prep, not sure who wins this one but 3A is damn strong.

2A - First match I got Bradenton Christian over Florida A&M High School. Grandview Prep should handle Orlando Christian and go on to 2A State Champions.

1A - Chipley have won their last 6 games by double digits. I think they get by Hamilton County in a great 1A match. Bell comes in vs. Paxton winning their last 2 games in OT. Paxton is a strong 1A team and rolls!

Nice work @ Yourbasement!  Keep the predictions coming.  I will say this , if a team like Lincoln has what it takes to beat  Ely -  this may be the right time.  Ely is a fairly young team.  They are only losing 3 Seniors this year and could be strong next year as well.

Lincoln comes out on top 57-54, and folks if you look at my prediction, I was guessing a 3 pt difference originally! Prediction: 52-49. Actual Score: 57-54
 
Bartow loses to Melbourne in overtime 58-55, with Bartow being knocked out, my follow up pick is Lincoln to take the crown... however, Blanche Ely remains and they are a threat for a back to back championship. 
 
PREDICTION: Lincoln beats St. Petersburg by 10, 66-56.

Pensacola gets a 6pt edge after overtime against Gainesville, 45-39. I figured it was a good game and it definitely looked like a good game. 
 
Predictions: Pensacola beats Largo by 7 pts. 47-40.

Niceville losses to a Leon 79-70. Like I mentioned, it's a game that can go either way, but Niceville played hard and kept it close to 9 pts in the end. Leon advances in the end though. 
 
Navarre losses in a 23 point game. Not surprised here, Lincoln is a consistent playoff team. A good season from Navarre though.
 
 
 
In the bottom, Blanche Ely comes out from 57-52. I would have gone to this game if I was in the south, a close one at that however Blanche pulls ahead and moves on.
 
Bartow wins by 10 over Sickles. and I should have edited, is my pick for State Championship of 7A. Bartow moves on.
 
 
 
Moving into round 2, sweet 16. Lincoln takes it away from Leon and heads to regionals. I'm suspecting a 20 pt high game with Lincoln sealing the win. 44-21 Lincoln.

So wow a 36 point blowout, I figured Fort Walton would edge it, but did not see this coming. Pensacola moves on. 
 
Choctaw beats Pine Forest in 11. Didn't see it, but I suspected they played well. 
 
 
Choctaw vs Pensacola. This will be a good game to see, both teams are great and again will go either way. Despite going against what I'm rooting for, I think Pensacola edges Choctaw by 4 in a close battle. 67-63 Pensacola.
 
 
 
I cannot comment on other parts of the bracket, but my pick in 6A is Dillard to take it all. 

I respect your analysis there is A lot of great teams left in all the Brackets excited to see these upcoming Matchups on Tuesday especially in 6A
 
That Dillard vs Boyd Anderson
 
& Miami Norland vs Central will be epic & Can go either Way.! Both #1 Seeds Norland & Dillard Have to come ready to grind out a Win Central or Boyd Anderson Won't Lay down & just give it away the fact Dillard best Boyd Anderson 3 times & Norland beating central 4 times mean nothing both will be ready.....Let the games Begin.

IT wasnt a complete dominant game put my panthers got another double digit victory there 24-5 on the year they have now won 16 straight games.!! and there still surging.
 
Next up is a familiair foe in boyd anderson there a Rival and will be looking to sole that dillard puzzle after losing to us 3 times already this season alone but this game is all or nothing win or go home. so i expect everything to be left on the court by boyd anderson.
 
still i believe my panthers will be ready for it it has bbeen 8 years since our boys have hosted a trophy in basketball and for the last 2 seasons they have came up just short in the 2nd round of the playoffs losing to the eventuall champions each time...heritage the year b4 and gibbons last year.
 
I believe this is the year they will break threw and go all the way many thought that they was still a year away from making it to lakeland but the underclassmans have really stepped up now your talking about them possibly being BETTER last year so if they win it this year..next year HMMMMMMM you never know lol. 2 peat maybe??

Havent heard much about them but i do know the North and south regions of florida plays diffrent style of basketball plus dillard has played against nationall opponents out of state in various tournaments this year even in a lost we scheduled the top team in florida and the #3 team nationally in Monterveade academy so we have the expericence to beat anybody left in front of us we just have to remain focused. and do what we do best dominiate in the paint. and keep blocking those shots lol.

Nice review bro i hope you guys do well in your first playoff game. im just excited to see what my panthers do this second season there red hot won 15 games in a row record on the season 23-5 swept there district played 6 teams 2 or more times and won all 6 rematches

Well, Crestview had a good run. Lots of steam going in the first half, but the second half of the season fizzled out. Still proud of the team, since I am a bulldog! 
 
 
I do not know 1A-5A or 8A teams, I'm only focusing on 7A and 6A. However, if anyone knows them please contribute. would love to have more discussion on those classes.
 
 
6A - From my side of the bracket, Choctaw vs Pine Forest and Pensacola vs Fort Walton. Pensacola is the top team right now, however I would not be surprised to see Fort Walton taking the semifinal spot due to how good they have played. I'm taking Fort Walton 44-39. It'll be a close one for sure, but ultimately Fort Walton plays better ball and comes out on top. 
 
The next game is Choctaw vs Pine Forest. I have seen Pine Forest do some good things, but I think the Choctaw squad is loaded and ready. It'll be a far game by 20 points, 59-35. As far as the region is concerned Gainesville is the only threat from state semifinals if any team from the panhandle wants to go onto the state championship. 
 
 
7A - Bartow remains and Blanche Ely is back again... should be a great run. Bartow is number 1 based off the math, and I'm looking at them to make a run. 
 
Niceville vs Leon for regional semifinals. Leon sometimes pops in, but they aren't a consistent playoff team. I think Niceville will play a good run, but I feel like this game could really go either way. I believe Niceville will have the edge and keep tempo good while minimizing turnovers. A close 54-49 for Niceville.
 
Navarre vs Lincoln. I don't think Navarre has a chance, not to say they are a good team. But Lincoln from Tallahassee is a great team and plays really hard. The last two years Crestview has had to battle hard to win against them and get to regional finals. I think Lincoln comes out in a blow out. Highest is 30 pts, probably 64-32.

Fixing the districts/classification is part of a three part process Coach Frank Beasley is under taking. From my understanding a lot of folks are excited inside the FHSAA offices about what he wants to do.

Dang man Dillard is just going off!!! Hats off to the team for a great season. 
 
Crestview has gotten two wins recently, lost to Fort Walton in a close 61-62 match. I haven't had time to post about much here, but the record is 14-8 after 2 wins. and 1-3 in district. I think crestview needs to get a good start in the district tournament to get a playoff spot. Choctaw is going to compete, they are 1-3 as well, so it's going to be a really close game if we go against them. Bulldogs still got this though I think the slump is shaken off! 
 
Pensacola is 14-0 in district, and 25-3 overall. I think they have a shot at state. 

AND TO ADD A FEW MORE STATS THEY LED AS MUCH AS 37 POINTS.!!! SHOT 61% IN THE 1ST HALF AND THERE LEADING SCORER WITH 24 WAS BY THERE SOPHMORE GAURD.! WOW LOL GOOD JOB PANTHERS

You are right Hwy 17...that is something that I have also advocated as well.
 
Another idea I think is to assign each team a classification and then let the schools choose a conference of like schools they want to be with and they can play each other (guaranteed schedule). North Carolina does this already and it seems to work nicely. But that is just an idea.

Dillard won tonight against the mustangs 59-51 they led 28-16 at the half.
