Excellent research!  St. Petersburg Catholic made their only state semi final in 2004. We fought hard but came up short against Pahokee. I remember how much had to go right for us to even get to that point.  It's hard to imagine teams making the state semi's so often unless they're a legit powerhouse even with as many classifications as we have today.

I'm not sure how 2019 will turn out but the teams that have earned 5 state semi's in the 2010's will have spent at least 50% of the decade with the designation as a state qualifying team. Florida is regularly listed as a top 3 state in the country for football.  Those teams deserve some serious respect for getting that far as often as they do.

Hmm these matchups are gonna be kinda crazy for Florida. I would say Cocoa v Brentwood but I definitely see them matching CCC wit Brentwood. No idea who is gonna line up against Hoover. They'll probably put Cocoa against Milton or Archer.

One of the better kickers in south Florida transferred from Booker T to Chaminade-Madonna.  Kickers don't get much love, but they can make a difference come the playoffs, can't they.  Cannot remember his name, but Chaminade had a great kicker a couple of years ago who kicked the game-winning field goal against Oxbridge..

Good to see CCC stretching their legs a bit! 

I found the old emails when I typed in some key words. I first reached out to him in May 2017. He sounded excited about it. Then I I never heard anything. In June 2017 I sent one more email asking if he gathered any information up, and he never responded. So then I just let it be. I didn’t want to impose. No sweat. I got it done! 

I will reach out to CCC and see if they have it and if they don’t I will give it to them. If you want B Barry and SPC’s history I can forward it to you at any time. I know your a proud alum!

That was probably Kibid, he loves things like that. Not sure when you contacted him, he fell off the grid for about 6 months after his mother passed. Might have slipped his mind.  I just remember a facebook post that he was sitting down with John Davis to do game reviews back to 1992 and he had been in contact with the original CCC team to get the team history.

Thanks for doing SPC/Bishop Barry. Our history isn't great, but we had some sparks. The Blue Streaks (St. Paul's) would be a challenge for anybody.  Thanks Nole!

I tried getting ahold of someone from CCC and they sounded interested in helping but never got back to me.
I ended up doing it myself but it was no issue. Both teams don’t go that far back. 
St Paul’s on the other hand is a different story. Lol. They go back to 29

This will be CCC’s first out of state game ever. I have their entire football history. I been told that the event is trying to secure Calvert Hall from Maryland, and if that goes through, that will be CCC’s opponent. 
I also have Bishop Barry and St Pete Catholic’s entire football history.

I saw recently on FB that Cocoa has been invited to play at the Military/Veteran Freedom Bowl Game in Atlanta. The dates are August 29-31. No schedule has been posted yet for the 2019 games, the 2018 games are still on the site.

Missing from the list is Victory Christian (2A Lakeland)
** been to last 6 state semi-finals (lost finals in '13 & won in '14); only other team in Florida to be in last 6 semi's is Cocoa.

No doubt, Jessica.   What's funny is that there were great teams of the past who did not get much recognition because there were so many fewer teams made the playoffs back then.  Imagine today if just two Miami-Dade teams amongst all of the classes advanced in the playoffs...imagine how many good teams would get left behind.  
This is why it is difficult to compare the results of today versus those of yesteryear.  The playoffs were a whole different ballgame back then.  From round 1 you were in a battle.  Manatee winning 3 state titles in the 80's may not sound that impressive, but winning three titles in a decade back then would likely be on the same scale as winning 6 today.
