Darter, remember how well that QB for Ponte Vedre played in the title game ? I thought with their new coach they'd be a consistently deep playoff threat.
Yes, that QB was special. Wonder how he is doing in college ball. Have you followed his career any?

Yes. I kind of figured. But till Bocefous reminded me, i had forgotten Ponte Verdre. They came pretty close to winning, too!

Brevard had cocoa and viera (maybe more but those are 2 ik for sure)
St John's County had bartram trail but who else?
I was thinking St. Augustine. But I realized it was not in the ten year window. My mistake. So it's two to go.

Yep, Broward and Palm Beach are two of them. Let's give some other folks a chance to guess some others.

I thought the big news was the change to baseball playoffs
I wonder what it could be
He got me. I have no idea except it must be big. I don't think Corey engages in a lot of hyperbole.

Man if u was at the jamboree game last week you woulda seen why they backed out of the Lakes jamboree that offense ranned by the coaches son was not good South Dade and Palm Beach Central would have had a field day on Coach J son
A coaches' son, even if not a gifted athlete, should be well schooled in the fundamentals of the game. If this kid is not, then he should give the sport up. Was the regular starter injured?

Yea but that team is almost 40 years old...
And if we don't go deep this year then it will mark 20 years since we've been to the fourth round of the playoffs
Based on the pullout from the competitive jamboree in WPB, it doesn't seem the there is much optimism for this year's program!

Dade County has over 10 different public high schools who have won state titles. Polk County has 5 different public schools that have won state titles. Which county has the second-most number of different schools that have won FHSAA state titles? It is not Polk County.
Palm Beach County. If not, then Escambia County.

Either Orange County or Hillsborough County
No. Neither of these had a stellar record during the 20th Century.

What types of formations, on both offense and defense, do you think Coach Schneider will run that is different than what Coach Wilkerson had in place? Outside of what was stated in this article? Is there anything major that might be implemented and will this be positive or negative? It's hard for me to believe that a new coach coming in cold, and replacing a legendary type coach, would not have some negative aspects with any team.
I think he will run a more balanced offense consistently. Aside from that, I don't know. Ryan S was a good footballer, and has solid coaching experience. For that reason, I feel that there will be no drop off in Cocoa under him.

Some cool insight into our new HC.
Ryan was a solid UCF QB back in the day. Hopefully, Cocoa won't miss a beat.

Probably not. Did not realize Pahokee was good for five consecutive decades!

I thought about Carol City myself. I would not have guessed Pahokee.

Wymore Tech - I saw were Hardee played them in the 1970's.
Yeah, they closed in the early 2000s. Kids zoned there now attend Edgewater.

Would Manatee be one?

Fair enough
I generally only see about 30 teams a year in college until bowl games (maybe more but i was being conservative with the number) and only a few do i see multiple times
Pro i probably see at least 1 game a year with each team but again some more than others and until last year i never got to watch other teams play at high school level (thank you smart phone for live streaming lol)
Its' a lot easier to see multiple high school teams when you live near a large metro area like Orlando. In my entire life I have seen between 5 and 10 college games live and one NFL game. Each was from the nosebleed section of the stands. Personally I found watching on TV a lot better. With High School arrive early and you can get the best seats in the house even if you are not a booster.

I would try and give an answer. However, I don't pretend to follow college or the NFL the way I follow high school football. So while I know a bit about a few teams, I have little knowledge of most on the list.

Have we evolved that much as a specie? Or is something else taking place?
From the 1970's forward, our hs all-american linemen are averaging about the same size as NFL linemen from the same decade. And our latest hs all-americans are, on average, bigger than their NFL counterparts!
I am pretty sure it is the latter and not the former. What is happening is criminal. Forget about the rigors of the game of football and the effect those have on its participants, especially after their careers are over and they approach their 40s and 50s, carrying 300 on your frame from 16 through 19 can never be healthy for the average human and is almost guaranteed to cause health issues regardless of whether you continue to play football into your 20s or not. Yes, the average American period is now carrying a lot more weight then they used to and that in itself is a health issue. But with linemen, we are looking at the very extreme of the obesity issue. The stress on the heart and other internal organs will lead to serious problems down the road that these young men and their families are ignoring.

One of rare times i wish Columbia could just do a jamboree and play both teams lol
I would be cool with that. Two quarters each between each of the three teams.

Hmm
Do you know of any schools in central Florida who play in every sport?
Not in Greater Orlando, as there are so many schools that it is not likely you will be placed in the same district in all sports and while it's an option to have non-district games against your rival it does not always happen. Perhaps Colonial/University and Cypress Creek/Freedom and Boone/Edgewater as in each case, one school either gave birth to the other or both schools came out of a common mother. But I am not sure they play each other in every sport!
