Sharkbait reacted to BrowardHandicapper in Columbia vs Jax Trinity Christian
The most impressive part of this win to me is it appears the defense for Columbia finally showed up. Congrats on the win, Columbia!

You will probably be handed the key to Lake City now.

Trinity was a solid team, we still got to work on secondary but offensive line took control of the game for Columbia when we needed it and sustained long drives for Columbia to run the ball effectively

Very solid fight in PSJ against a quality Alabama team. Curious to see how they match up versus North Florida Christian on 11/3.

I think they will match up better with NFC. Looking at their rosters AA is a lot bigger than NFC on the line they also had a pair of running backs at 200lb and 220lb that were as fast as anybody we had and we are pretty fast team. PSJ has got to get their kick coverage problems figured out

I thought I would give a summary of tonight's game, since Columbiafan does it their games . Autauga is a very impressive team ,big fast, and well coached, one of the player's father told me they had 8 players with D1 offers. Autauga jumped out early and built a 21-0 lead halfway through the first quarter. PSJ fought back and dominated the 2nd quarter and tied the game at 21 going into halftime. AA came out and controlled the 3rd quarter building a 42-21 lead. PSJ played well in the 4th but just didn't have the horses to defeat Autauga. 45-28 Final. PSJ showed a lot of fight and left it all on the field. Special teams was the biggest difference in the game with AA returning 2 punts for TDs and had a couple of long KO returns, the AA placekicker consistently put KOs thru the endzone. PSJ should not see any team of this caliber again unless they reach the 1A finals. Proud of St Joe for fighting til the end.

Sharkbait got a reaction from DarterBlue2 in DADE COUNTY FOOTBALL
I don't know the answer. Some places love football and make it a priority in other places it is just a past-time. My son plays for Port St Joe and anywhere I go in town people ask me about the football team. The players are treated like heroes in school and in town. People in the community have steak dinners for the team multiple times during the season. Teachers bring donuts to the players in their class after big wins. It was like this when I was young in Wakulla and it was like this when I was in high school at Armwood. Some places though seem to look down on football and football players and that is a true shame. When I see these young men of all races come together as brothers to fight for their community's pride it makes me very happy.

Sharkbait got a reaction from DisabledAccount in What do you want to see on FloridaHSFootball.com?
A regional or classification section where a few games are highlighted each week. Nothing too in depth maybe just a sentence per highlighted matchup i.e. "Wakulla will take on an undefeated Godby team this Friday In a huge matchup for control of the district". I think this would help keep everyone interested in games outside their normal region or class.

Port St Joe will be representing the State of Florida this week as they take on Autauga Academy the 24th ranked team (per Maxpreps) in the State of Alabama. I don't know much about Autauga, except that they are the defending state champs. I have talked to a couple of people from that area who say they are very good and give a lot of scholarships. Just hoping our boys can keep it respectable.

Columbia's biggest problem was playing 2 very good teams in 4 days. You would never expect to win both but winning the second is a monumental task, also both games weren't they. Too much to ask of the kids.

I'm just saying if your team captains refuse to shake hands don't expect any breaks from the officials. I know teams that do that to try to be intimidating but it usually isn't very effective and the officials assume your team is not very sportsmanlike.

Thanks man I appreciate that. I have been trying to chronicle the history in the entire state for a while. We need a site dedicated to all history for our teams here

I like the idea but I think the only way to do that would be to have submissions from readers. Josh doesn't have a big enough staff to cover 500+ teams.

I have never laughed so hard in my life. That is the best comment in the history of the internet. ColumbiaHighFan I love you but I have give Nolebull props for making me laugh so hard.
