The important thing to me is getting the teams in the playoffs that deserve to be there.  If a team wins their district they should be in but once you're in then it is about the best team moving forward.  If you have to play a team in the first round that you can't beat then you were not going to win that ring anyway.  For a team to win the championship they have to be an exceptional  team and usually catch a lucky break along the way.  But if you get in the playoffs you have a chance maybe you are the one that catches a lucky break.

I want to add something to all of this.
My understanding as it has come to be is that the FHSAA originally wanted to seed the teams 1-8 regardless of the fact if they were district champion or not basically if you are the 2nd best team in your region, you get the 2nd seed. FHSAA Football advisory committee had other ideas and wanted district champions to get a seed 1-4 first before anyone else. So in the case in like Class 5A-Region 1, Suwannee could win the district but would be left out of the playoffs because say Bolles or even Mosley is better. So I just want to put this out there, that some compromises were made with the advisory committee which is composed of head football coaches from around the state.

I said this from the beginning a lot of this before the system was ever implemented, but nothing is official in terms of who is in and out so let's see it through first before we say we should end it.
One of the reasons why it was suggested that we should go to this system is that teams would schedule harder teams instead of sticking with the same old teams. I think we have seen some of that. But I asked a million times, but nobody ever answered, how did the old system discourage playing tougher teams? If you lost the out of district "tough" game, you still could make the playoffs with no harm done to your playoff chances. Now, if you play a tough team and lose, you actually hurt your chances on making the playoffs. As some have pointed out, it is better to play an 0-10 team and win than lose to an 10-0 team.
I warned that the system is going to be very complicated and the average fan won't be able to understand in comparison to the district standings. I still think that is true.
I was told every game would matter (they do), but the team's ranking will depend on something that a coach can't control (how a former opponent does for their other 9 games).
I continue to argue that a system that moves up successful programs and moves down unsuccessful programs would make a better system overall (District champs/runner ups or current system) while using population as a base.
I am concerned about seeding in this playoff bracket. If #1 vs #8 and #4 vs #5 (some of these #5 seeds the 2nd best team in the region, but play in the same district as the #1 seed). It would make more sense to me to re-seed after each round, so that the #1 seed always plays the lowest seed left.

you read that wrong or it didn't come out like I meant.  district champ is only one guaranteed.  I don't want 3 team districts where 2 teams are guaranteed to get in and then you have a Leon making the playoffs.  3 team districts is a completely different discussion.

I don't like the fact that you don't get anything for playing higher classification teams.  I realize that a good 1a team may be harder to beat than a bad 4a team but a bad 4a team will smoke a bad 1a team.  If classification doesn't matter then do away with classification.

Everyone keeps talking about districts. What about 1A-4A. Booker T (4a) lost to 6a power House Central and 8a Christopher Columbus and is considered a 3 seed which means they're on the road the whole time. This system punishes good 1A-4A teams and helps dingleberries!

Hagerty gets 38 points for beating 0-5 Ocoee 22-21
Viera gets 33 points for losing to 4-0 Cocoa in overtime
Miami Central gets 33 points for losing to IMG in a game they led late.
Apopka gets 33 points for losing to 4-0 Lakeland by 7 in the last minute on the road.
Booker T Washington gets 28 points for losing to Miami Northwestern by 7
I could give more examples but no need to.
In conclusion it is better to schedule bad to average teams and win then schedule great teams and lose close.

Coaching staffs change. More importantly you would be better served to coach somewhere else first and come into there with some experience.  You may want to start in peewee and learn the ropes and then you will already have a relationship with the players .

To call them a high school football program is a gross misrepresentation of what they are.  I am fine with them being what they are but do not compare them to true high schools they are more of a club league.  If schools agree to play them fine but realize you are at a disadvantage and they may take your best players the next year.

I don't think you can compare IMG to any other high school program in the state.  Also players aren't taking the 6 or 7 periods of class per day that normal student athletes do they are tutored in core classes and and do not have to deal with the typical struggles an athlete  does in public or most private schools.  I personally don't have a problem with IMG and what they do but it is like comparing apples and oranges or better yet apples and helicopters.

what does Wekiva having players kneel and them playing DP this week have anything to do with each other?  Is DP going to destroy them because they took a knee during the anthem?  Is DP not going to let them on the field during the anthem?  Are you against Wekiva players taking a knee?  What is your point in this post?
    On a side note:
After watching Wekiva it appears Wekiva's offense has decided to take a knee during the game.

AA is a very good team. Don't know if PSJ can keep up. There's homegrown speed, and then there's speed that was shopped for if you know what I mean.

Sharkbait got a reaction from DarterBlue2 in Autauga Academy VS Port St Joe
I thought I would give a summary of tonight's game, since Columbiafan does it their games .  Autauga is a very impressive team ,big fast, and well coached, one of the player's father told me they had 8 players with D1 offers.  Autauga jumped out early and built a 21-0 lead halfway through the first quarter.  PSJ fought back and dominated the 2nd quarter and tied the game at 21 going into halftime.  AA came out and controlled the 3rd quarter building a 42-21 lead.  PSJ played well in the 4th but just didn't have the horses to defeat Autauga.  45-28 Final.  PSJ showed a lot of fight and left it all on the field.  Special teams was the biggest difference in the game with AA returning 2 punts for TDs and had a couple of long KO returns, the AA placekicker consistently put KOs thru the endzone.  PSJ should not see any team of this caliber again unless they reach the 1A finals.  Proud of St Joe for fighting til the end.
