  1. Not sure I would call Western a power, they are a solid team, thats about as far as I would go with that. Dillard does look better on both sides of the ball and should definitely be prepared to play the game.
  2. John I. vs Palm Beach Gardens
  3. First off, EVERYONE did not say Columbia would get dusted. I am pretty sure I said they would be ready for this game.....
  4. Florida has the population of all of those states combined.
  5. Yes, Vista has given ATL fits over the past few games. ATL is very talented, but I think Vista gets over the hump this year. DO not get me wrong, the champ is the champ until they get dethroned, and ATL has earned the benefit of the doubt against ANYONE in the county right now. Coach Jackson has the ship sailing. I just think if they are going to get over the ATL hump, it will be this year. ATL is young, they might not get another shot for a long time.
  6. Not true, there are plenty of great coaches in Florida, that is the reason that Florida coaches are in high demand in other states. Are there plenty of programs that could use better coaching, of course, but thats everywhere.
  7. They will be solid as always. One of the best coaching staffs in the state. The kids there are strong, and disciplined. They do not make a lot of mistakes, and they play with confidence. I like them to win their district this year, and who knows after that.
  8. Gibbs is a tough job. They really have not had any success since Yusef Shakir was the coach. Abraham had a solid season, but once the Shakir affect was over they were down again. There is plenty of talent in the building, but keeping that ship moving forward has proven to be hard. It will take someone that understands S St Pete, and loves the community to have success there.
  9. Honestly I would love to be at that game. Not because I want to see Columbia get blown out, I believe their kids will step up to the level of the competition. I do not think they can win the game, but I think they will be prepared for the test, and put up a fight. They play a lot of lopsided games before the playoffs, and its not their fault. Playing IMG will give their coaching staff a measuring stick. Good luck fellas. I am not scheduling IMG, lol.
  10. Ok, most consistent, I can definitely agree on.
  11. In a down year Northwestern, CC, AND Norland would destroy most of your list.
  12. Mississippi always has the highest representation when you go per capita.
  13. Game of the year before we even play a game? Atlantic? AHD? I say we have two very strong programs that are expected to make deep runs squaring off to start us off.
  14. Saw Suncoast in the spring, they are very disciplined and have adapted well to the Wing, but I really do not see them making a run.
  15. Definitely not new, the metro area community stadiums moved to turf years ago.

    Coaching changes

Boynton Beach brought in a college guy last season too. Did you see what happened to their offense after the spring? I never get excited about college guys because they choose their own guys. Good high school coaches are able to coach whatever shows up.
  17. A bunch of kids transferred from Boynton Beach to Atlantic. A lot of them OL/DL and LBs. Also a pretty good RB.
  18. PBC receives a LOT of transfers, so I do not put it past them to really reload this offseason. Oxbridge is getting ready to look at LOT different.
  19. Most southern states pay much better. Most states period pay better. I got 8K as a position coach in IL, and my teachers salary was 12k higher. Our HC made 114, AD made 140. HC did not teach. Large districts do not have the flexibility as some of these affluent suburbs, and one school in the county areas have when it comes to finances.
  20. Having coached in South Florida, Central FL, and GA I can tell you that the only difference talent wise is that there are more people in Florida. If you were just putting together true all star rosters GA would match Florida on a roster of about 40 or 50 kids. I coach in the Future Stars Games FL vs GA and its pretty much even.
  21. I attend the game most years. It is really Palm Beach County vs South Metro Atlanta. Last year the folks from Atlanta made it very clear they were not interested in coming to Florida to lose again, and that things would be different in the ATL. Well they were getting drilled in Atlanta and....
  22. Seeing a kid leave TC, or Berkley Prep for Plant is relatively common. The classroom environment at Plant is on par with the private schools, and they have an excellent coaching sgtaff.
