Since my kid graduated along with 30 seniors I'm sure you understand the dynamic might not be the same. They will be as prepared as possible. You can watch Venice play Plant again in the KOC. Can also see them play vs Lakeland in the Spring game. Do not know much about Vero so maybe Ill catch that game.

Losing the LB McFadden would have been very evident if they played again. Game plan would have changed for multiple reasons. Weiner even admitted that in an interview about the Venice defense and one particular player. Interested as I am does Plant double cover Javion as most did or do they leave him single covered as the did in the KOC and take their chances? Biased as I am Venice wins regardless.

There will be extra police presence and cameras at this game no doubts. They will shake hands but might not like it. Too many cameras around and people watching for them not to play nice in public. As for the kids, they might take some 15 yard penalties but as for a brawl I'm thinking they will keep it together. Neither team will want to lose players for the season.

It will be a very different team that you might have seen in the past few years. I watched the Vero-Riverview game so I'm not sure how it will play out just yet.

Seems Venice is the hot topic for hate lately. Either way it wasn't the News I thought of first but a interesting match up.

Post graduate schools are big in the Northeast. I didn't know they existed in Fl.

I have known Trevor personally from back in Pop Warner. Good kid. I'm sure with the transfer of another QB he started to question why he should stay. Other factors could have played a part so only he knows. Kids these days go to where they think the best chance for 2 things can happen. Winning and getting into college. It is that simple. In this area it is better to be in a program the college recruiters actually come to. There are some schools they don't even bother showing up because its a waste of their time. That last sentence was communicated from one recruiter to my son this past year. So for Trevor it could be he just wants to play. His chances of doing so "seem" to be better at another school.

Trevor being an Englewood Pop Warner player in the early years finished up his days at Venice before high school. As it is with anything timing is everything. Funny as kids now a days start searching for the next school by checking out who is graduating. See an opening and step in.

Use football as a tool to get into the best school possible. Maybe for some it is a way to get into a school that might not normally see you as a student. That has been our approach. As a father of a 2018 player , recruiting is a crazy business. Some coaches are upfront and will tell you how it is. That's all we have asked from the start. Some are hard to read. For us some of the smaller schools are looking more interesting academically.

I have watched, coached and cheered him on since 5yrs old. Javion and my son started back when they were 5. Its great to see this come to this many years later. In case anyone cares ( some may not ) Javion is a really good basketball player. Was at practice today. Javion played baseball basketball and football his freshman year. His future is very bright.

Venice side was packed to only have 4200 in total attendance.

Interesting as I never thought Venice to be a trash talking team.

How many fans does 1 section fill ? Venice sold the Home reserved side out days ago and only general was available. Not sure if that is a lot of people or not.

Weather will be a factor for sure. I'm thinking more of a 5000 total fan base. Its a decent travel for Venice to make that drive. A lot of fans are of the older generation and may not make that trip. The town in general is in a buzz after Friday night. Hard to say but those who don't come will be watching a live stream.

8500 for that 7A game would be impressive. Venice usually travels well. I hope they make the trip on Sat.

I watched the play probably should have been called a block in the back. While that game was loud and the speed at which it happened maybe the ref called it from an angle that it looked like a crack back. I guess now its all irrelevant. Not like we have replay in high school nor that play be considered for a replay. With that said, I don't think that 1 specific play cost STA the game. A bunch of things happened that was their downfall.

Venice likes to pass so that could help their cause.

So what is the story on BT ? I slightly remember seeing them play on ESPN vs Cartersville GA.

To be honest I am unsure why STA did not run more Draw with the RB ?

Because I think I am the only Venice guy who posts I will say this, I don't care much about the outside of talk and whatever the kids on the field play the game. The coaches coach on the field and help the players. The STA team that was at Venice last night is MUCH different than the STA that Venice saw last year. That is not anything more than a FACT. I will also say the exact same thing about Venice. Not the same team as last year. say this -- say that of recruiting and whatever set aside, Venice 27 STA 20. Its a win. I think I said the exact same thing last year after a loss. The sun will still come up tomorrow, and this 1 game does not define a lifetime.

After some of the games early in the year I would say those officials were not as bad as I had seen at Venice games. Look back at some of the max preps scoreboard and you will see heavy penalties in Venice games. Both sides in fact. I'm one sided so its hard to say but which plays were the most blatant ?

Read the article, hard to believe that the players for STA think they are an underdog. Especially if they return most of the defense that won that game easily last year. My guess is you would not want the kids from STA looking past Venice and these types of articles will help the coaches keep focus.
