That South Fort Myers ( or any team from the district 12 ) will get a running clock put on them by Braden River. This is the same style matchup of BR district 11 vs South Fort Myers district 12 that has happened for years. Venice blasted South Fort Myers last year 56-0 Braden River traveled to Gulf Coast the district winner and had put the running clock on fast forward. Gulf coast scored 21 in the 4th to make it respectable somewhat. Final BR 37-21 Much more deserving teams out there that got bumped due to this district winner. Total points 33.14. Has to be the lowest point total to get in.

No, some think one loss does open the door for potential upset later in the playoffs. I'm sure the next opponent will feel some of that frustration taken out on them. When your on top people will want to see you fall.

As for Cocoa, rankings don't matter as long as you win the last game of the season. Win that one and I'm sure they would trade a number in a poll for a ring.

I'm not sure I buy into the cupcake walk into the playoffs. Goal 1 win your district then you are in. Win enough games after that and try to be the number 1 seed. Host playoff games and avoid travel.

Winning vs 10 CAT 4 teams will net an average of 35 am I correct? Does 35 get you in the playoffs this year? I ask because I'm not sure and if it does you will be ill prepared if it does.

Losing on purpose to find an easier way would become a habit. Humans are creatures of habit, good ones are hard to start and bad ones are hard to give up.

IMG game was a bit different. After the STA game it was clear we did not compete with those guys. They were bigger faster stronger and in the end better. IMG was the same way only at a higher level. We did compete for 3 plus QT then one play caused the wheels to fall off. End score of 38-12 looked bad. The two 4th QT TDS made that a fact. They would have won the game in the end but does 24-12 sound better than 38-12? Either way shoot your bullets never leave them in the gun.

Anyone can get hurt getting off the bus star players or not. If they got hurt it was just their time. If you have players hurt already then resting them makes sense. I don't like the resting a healthy guy to keep him from injury idea.

Wouldn't winning increase confidence going into the playoffs? Got to play whoever is in front of you to win it all anyways. If say we took that same feeling into the playoffs with Venice in 7A might as well just give STA the crown now and forgo the rest of the games anyways. Play the game to win and if you don't then at least you can say you did all you could and will not have any regrets. "What if" Carol City lost before Dillard faced them ?

Kids these days don't always want to stay in state. Look at it this way, I'm a good player going to a team with other good players. I can go out of state and create a legacy and try to build the program around ME. Don't forget most kids want IT and want IT NOW. There is no waiting behind players to get your chance anymore ( or very few ). Issue is the culture at schools who are down right now. The culture at UF is not good and hasn't been. The arrests and transfers are up. Does not change with AD and 2 coaches. Changing the coach is just the scapegoat. Change the culture and you will find success. By the way I am a UF fan so I call it how I see it.

Anytime you step on the field its to win, otherwise why even bother. Pay your fine and forfeit. I couldn't see any explanation from a coach to player on why losing on purpose is a good idea.

If stats are your thing Leto has given up 436 points this season while scoring 12 in 8 games. Windermere has only scored 7 points total in 9 games.

There are teams worse than South Fork in 7a unfortunately. Things to think about is they have 2 wins.

In 7A I don't think there is a North Fort Myers?? I hope that is not supposed to read South Fort Myers who according to Max preps is currently 4-3. They come out of district 12 which is a 3 team district. Typically the past few years get throttled 1st round. Unless the beat out Gulf Coast for district Championship I don't see getting in the playoffs.

Depth of talent. Some teams can hang with IMG for a short bit then the depth of talent shows up. That is where your big time well know powerhouse high school teams are a step above. Some teams even try to play the best athletes both ways. Imagine a high school player having to play 80-100 snaps let alone play those snaps vs teams with 2nd and 3rd string guys who you would have a hard time playing with fresh.

Too much talent but I saw a team that lacked discipline most of the night. The penalties were all over the field all night. It wasn't just IMG--Venice had their share as well. Any play that takes too much time to develop will fail. As with most teams but with IMG that time is shortened.

That IMG defense is legit. If that East team runs the ball they will need to be prepared.

I take it the winners of 1 vs 8 will play 4 vs 5 next round the 2 vs 7 and 3 vs 6 winners play each other.

After the first round of playoffs 1 vs 8 2 vs 7 3 vs 6 4 vs 5 How does the second round match up? How does the Home field match up as well ? Would a number 1 seed in a region have home field throughout the playoffs until meeting another Region 1 seed?

The hurricane reschedule probably gives them more flexibility to cancel.
