There are 3 kids that I know have won a state championship in Rugby and Football in Florida. 2 from DP and 1 from St thomas. There are Rugby teams in South Florida, Jax, Tampa, Orlando,Sarasota and Cocoa Beach. Rugby greatly improves tackling skills and fitness.I know a lot of football kids that their parents will not let themplay because they are afrias that they will get hurt. Rugby is a low injury sport except for bumps and bruises.

Actually a good part of the team is from the Unlimited team that went to the super bowl 4 years ago. They came in 3rd in the country and lost to the national Champions 24-22. Those kids have a southeastern championship in Pop Warner, a State runner up and a State title. Not a bad run for those kids. All the players who scored in that game are Pop Warner guys. A note on Coach Wells. 2 years ago he went with an all in approach and told the parents if you are not here for the team then go find somewhere else to play and it has changed the attitude and it has paid off. DP loses kids every year because they have a better chance to start on another team and most of those kids are good kids. But there were a few parents that were all about there own kids and were dragging the program down. Wells is a great guy and coach that gets better every year.

Devodney Alford looked good tonight as well as McCary but i know what you are saying that we are used to having the best athlete on the field but I am not sure that is the case this year. I do think we have a better all around team with receivers that catch better than previous years. Interesting note about QB's. Novello at Maitalnd, Kong at BM, Elleyesomi at TFA, and Furry at Lake Highland were all DP Pop Warner kids who were potential DP QB's that left to pursue the dream else where.

I am excited for this game tonight. DP QB is dynamic and the most versatile since Patti. The receivers are not a fast as previous years but have better hands. OL and D are solid but will need a few games to gel. Hurts having Inge out as he is 100% playmaker. DP D had problems with containment against the Kowboys and if they do not fix that Linguard will run wild. Should be a great game. If turnover margin is even I pick DP by 10.

The interesting match up is DP 's Oline vs. SR front 5. It is an obvious mis-match that heavily favors SR. If they can step up to the challenge DP has a chance if not the load is on the D and Special teams. Can't wait to watch the game.

I am a DP guy and expected a close game but sort of favored our chances. With that being said your(Vero) O-line impressed me in keeping your QB safe for the majority of the game. We wore them down a little in the second half but my hats off to them. I will also say that at the beginning of the season said that if DP's season comes down to 2 things, the play of the QB Marvin Washington and the play of the O-line. Marvin has played well all year and was fantastic tonight. The O line has out performed what I though they were capable of and should be proud of their performance as well. The same hold true the rest of the way,our defense is top notch and is the reason we are here if our O-line can continue to produce we have a good chance of making it to the state final.

I guess brighthouse is going to do the Seminole game instead of DP. I think this is a better game but not sure how they decide which to show.

They Lost Woody who was a total stud then lost some receivers do to a off field incident. The QB from Boston is okay but nothing special. I think thye just lost a lot of talent and do not have any play makers.

They will put up 50 on them. West Orange is not good this year.

Boy was I wrong. Mainland was impressive. The combo of 5 QB and 24 RB was unstoppable. DP was flat all night. The O-line did not play well for DP or the d-line was strong for Mainland. Our OB was just Okay and over threw a few opportunities but the receiver dropped a lot of balls as well. Our defense could get pressure but could not tackle #5 and he just out maneuvered everyone. He also was great at finding the open man. Well deserved win for mainland. Now we go for 5 easy wins.
