It’s been a while since I been back home in Vero but back in the day me and the guys would go over to Heavenly Wings next door to the stadium, they made some pretty good fish sandwiches too! That was *sigh 20 years ago though.

Sounds like a good night to get some garbage fries from Cafe 66 or an oyster po'boy from Fishack before heading over. 

I'm definitely gonna get the night off lol, I ate at fishack last week....
For a spring game, this is interesting, I wanna see Vero deals with the QB/RB tandem from West Boca 

lol before I even read this post just going off the topic I was thinking to myself “Hey maybe something we could be good at up here” (Vero). If something like that would happen I do know our boosters have deep pockets. Hopefully though this doesn’t happen, the sport has already been messed with enough.

This comment is quite impressive in both its uselessness, and in the way it captures the stupidity of our time. Berkeley beats a team that beat Central TWICE this season, and we're to disregard that because observers think they know better than the reality of what happened on the field of play.

After watching this year, I would rather have a bunch of guys with no stars that came up through Vero’s system together than a bunch of 3-4 star transfers who are just there to fill out their recruiting tapes.
 
I’m just old school I guess, I would rather see a bunch of kids play their hearts out and lose than a bunch of guys who win but look like they don’t want to be out there…

This "jambun82" character seemed to be a more level-headed poster years ago.  Then he started posting more humorous stuff, and then starting going the direction of taking informal jabs at others which was fine.  But after a while, his overall tone went further south and became a little more on the annoying side.  Now here we are today, and he's basically relegated himself to the level of an outright troll.
I sort-of wanted to like the guy.  As we know, referees do a thankless job.  You're the most hated person on the field, paid dirt, but we need 'em.  Otherwise, there's no football, no games, nothing.  He was the one who would post his perspectives about being an official.  But the way he's been acting lately, I've basically had no choice but to seriously lose any respect for him.

You are absolutely correct, Vero is still playing with a lack of fire and cohesiveness, and to me (and others watching last night) look like they could care less to be out there, win or lose-  I heard a couple guys near me talking about it and his young son commented to the group "maybe they just want to go home and play video games." Perhaps truer words have never been spoken.
I don't know how Coach J can find any new ways to motivate this group this season, nothing has seemed to work as of yet, but if playing a second round playoff game against your current rival who embarrassed you 3 weeks prior to win the district doesn't motivate you, I don't know what will.

I’ll get them for ya, been traveling with work the last 3 days gonna look over the games and have them in by kickoff.

The craziest part is, if you looks years back Vero has always been a great second half team and would make adjustments during the half and usually pull away. This year 2nd half they come out flat, and unresponsive like they give up even with a lead. 

Yea I found that old board when I was a teachers aide my senior year. The teacher was also the varsity cheerleading coach and was super cool and just let me use her computer or run errands around town for her back when we had an open campus. Good times man!

Hey now I’m not that old, so 19 years ago (lol) but yes I can honestly remember 3 kids that transferred in 1 from St Edward’s (private Vero school), one from John Carroll (private school in Ft. Pierce but he lived in Vero) and from Sebastian (who grew up in Vero and I personally have been friends to this day with since 6th grade and transferred in like myself after parents divorced and his dad was in Vero). 2 started on the line (C and G) and my buddy was a co-starter at QB. Everyone else pretty much came up playing 9-12th grade. We have a great group of feeder schools into 9th grade from multiple private and public middle schools I really don’t see the need for transfers. With home grown talent we were in the playoffs every year, playing good competition, and ALOT of camaraderie between the guys.
