Some comments made in the meeting by the FHSAA Executive Director definitely led me to believe that the Finals are going back to Tallahassee next year.

It's all very, very funny. I hate to say it, but the Georgia and Alabama equivalents are superior to our governing body. 

To answer one of your questions, that stems from the upcoming classification cycle for the new season in which things are set to change anyway.  However, that "emergency" meeting was rushed and chaotic.

I for the life of me can't understand the reason to not at least let graduating cycle go through before changing the system. The M,S,R accomplished everything it was asked for. More competitive games, newer teams competing for and winning states. BP upset over Norland doesn't happen with previous system. I can't think of one reason to go back to the old system of blowout State title games

Just know whatever the correct decisions are, the FHSAA will do the opposite. 

The FHSAA Board of Directors has called a special meeting for today at 2 PM ET that will be live streamed virtually via YouTube by the FHSAA regarding the new classification policy that could determine the future of how all team sport classifications will look like in Florida.

In the leadup from 1:45 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. we will discuss what the proposal entails and set the table. Part of that is a desire to not only host, but bid competitively if multiple applications for sites are offered.
