  1. I totally agree, Madison could not stop the run at all. Pahokee's running backs were getting 9 yards a pop. They even had success running the wildcat. I have to give it to Madison County, they did stop the pass. But that shows just how balanced Pahokee's offense is this year. The Madison team that I saw in Pahokee? ...In my opinion they wouldn't have beat Trenton or Newberry this year.
  2. Pahokee 21 Madison County 6 Halftime
  3. I agree 561. It's kinda hard to stop the option every play, especially when you have the athletes that Trenton and Newberry had. Trenton ran that offense with precision! A good running back is gonna get his yards. But a "bend but don't break" philosophy is good. Last year for example, Ft. Meade's running back "Tyler King" gashed Pahokee for 200 yds rushing... And Ft. Meade lost that game 28-0.
  4. Like you said earlier...show me the full box score. Better yet, game film?
  5. Come on man, I was at that game. Trenton could barely get a first down in the second half. And that's when they didn't turn the ball over. Turnovers are a part of the game. Give Pahokee's D some credit. I'm not taking anything away from Trenton. Trenton played like they were the Champs. They were a great football team. Anyways, this Madison County / Pahokee matchup is gonna be epic. I can't wait.
  6. You are right Tigerfan1 I said it. And Newberry and Trenton both moved the ball in the first half. And you were both shut down in the second half. Trenton actually had the atheletes to beat Pahokee, they just didn't have the playbook to go along with it... About Madison, I'm well aware that they are a quality team! I just thought they ran a spread offense. It's gonna be a long night if they come down to the "muck" running that Wing T again. Pahokee has seen that two weeks in a row. "Trenton (9-2), the state Class 1A champion in 2013 and 2015, used a powerful running game to build a 21-6 lead midway through the second quarter. Pahokee cut it to 21-13 with 1:27 left in the half when Smith tossed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Zatavian Morgan on fourth down. “We’ve been a strong second-half team all year,†Walkes said. “Our offense kept putting the defense in a hole in the first half. We cleaned it up in the second half.†The Blue Devils, aided by four fumble recoveries, outscored the Tigers 34-7 in the second half. Smith completed 16-of-25 passes for 276 yards and four touchdowns — two to Tyler Gilbert and one each to Dent and Arnett." .....Courtesy of the Palm Beach Post.
  7. Madison County vs Florida High.....This Offense ain't gonna work against Pahokee.
  8. Great game! I admit, I didn't think Trenton would move the ball on Pahokee. They did...just not enough. Turnovers cost them dearly also. Hat's off to both Trenton and Newberry's fans and players....Class acts. Madison is up next for the "Muck Tour"
  9. I think they were/are banged up quite a bit.
  10. Call me crazy, and I'll come back and eat crow if I have to, but I don't see Trenton moving the ball on Pahokee's Defense. (Especially a week after Pahokee played Newberry) If Trenton has a better passing game, then they have a better chance. I think most people are in "awe" of Pahokee's QB, but it's Pahokee's Defense that's going undetected. That Defense is pretty solid. And correction...Newberry had more than a running game. That was a "TRAIN" (Newberry's RB) coming straight at Pahokee that whole first half. I don't think Pahokee expected all of that...Lol
  11. Pahokee 28 Trenton 6 Bad timing for Trenton. They have to Play Pahokee right after Pahokee played Newberry. Offensively, Trenton and Newberry are quite similar. The Pahokee/Newberry score didn't indicate the fact that Pahokee completely shut down Newberry's run game in the second half. Which means that Trenton will have to pass the ball (quite a bit) to win. And from what I see from Trenton, they don't do that very well. Trenton is a great team, and it sucks that 1A South is so stacked. But it's refreshing to see small town ball thrive!
  12. Hey Run@Shoot, I think I said that Newberry would have a hard time running the veer against Pahokee. They did it the first half, but Pahokee shut it down in the second half. It's gonna be tough beating Pahokee with just depending on the run. The problem is, if you try to pass it, that's even more dangerous. They have athletes all over the field, and they are very fast. From what I've seen on video, It actually looks like Newberry was the better team than Trenton this year. I know Newberry lost the head to head but .....
  13. Newberry's team rushed the field before the Ref's unpiled the bodies at the line. When the bodies were unpiled, Pahokee's QB clearly had the ball extended over the goal line. For the most part, it was a clean called game to me. Newberry's Offensive line was doing a lot of holding/tackling but it never called.
  14. Broward, this was one of the best H.S. Football games that I've personally seen in a while. Hats off to Newberry, they stuck with that veer but it cost them in the second half. Pahokee made adjustments and shut it down in the second half. I was impressed with Newberrys skill players. I was NOT impressed with their O/D lines. Those guys (Newberry) were HUGE. There was an obvious size advantage. Either Newberry's line is overrated, or Pahokee is just that good. I haven't quite figured it out yet.
  15. Pahokee has seen big offensive/defensive lines all year. (8A Seminole Ridge, 8A Boca Raton,4A Glades Central) ....The biggest line that they have faced was the Wayne Hills-NJ team. I think that this game may come down to coaching/play calling. Newberry can't run the ball out of the veer the whole game and expect to win. Pahokee has too much team speed on defense. The best way to beat Pahokee is to spread 5 wide and run with the QB. Teams that can do that have some success. What Newberry's defense has to worry about is stopping the Run and the Pass. Pahokee is a well balanced monster. They can beat you with running, passing, defense and special teams.
  16. Hey Broward!...Here is the math. Small Town football=Big time politics Lol!
  17. I would have liked to see 2015 Trenton play 2015 Glades Central. Hell, did Trenton have any tests at all last year? Glades Central is playing much better. But they're O Line is suspect. They are having problems protecting their QB. Pahokee may be to much for them Defensively. But that game is always fun. Athletes on both teams flying everywhere.
  18. NFL Hall of Famer Members 2,530 posts Posted Today, 07:01 PM Not to take anything from 2015 Pahokee ( they were a solid 1A team) and I do believe their abrupt team situation the day before Dixie cost them that game but realistically 2015 Pahokee lost at HOME to Boca Raton.....2015 Pahokee lost 14-35 to Glades Central. Pahokee was fully intact versus both of those teams in the regular season. 2015 Trenton was very likely soundly better than both of those teams.
  19. @ BrowardHandicapper Actually you are incorrect. In the Glades Central game..Pahokee's QB played with one leg. And did a very good job against an athletic (4A) Glades Central team. Pahokee did drop a close game to (8A) Boca Raton last year. But heck, they're 8A for pete's sake. And Boca went 2 games deep into the 8A playoffs last year.
  20. Captain I agree. Newberry's plan is very good however. And they do it very well. Traditionally, veer/running teams play from behind/catch up, against Pahokee. And the clock is usually the opposing team's worst enemy in that case. But athletically speaking, Pahokee's receivers can outright FLY! And that's not counting the two running backs. The RB's are small, but they can scat and don't mind running in between the tackles.
  21. @ Captain Morgan I'm not taking anything from Trenton. They were extremely good last year. I just don't think that the game would have been a blow out. @ Columbiahighfan Yep, I was at that Dixie/Pahokee Game. Those Pahokee kids had fans screaming plays from the stands (lol). They were extremely confused.
  22. I actually like Newberry. They are huge, and that running back is a beast. But Pahokee never has had problems with big running teams. Pahokee (defensively) has too much team speed. So the running backs can't go any where. Sure they will accumulate some yards, but few TD'S ........Also, If Newberry can't stop the deep ball...then what good is a running game? Just my opinion.
  23. Captain Morgan, on 24 Oct 2016 - 4:54 PM, said: Didnt they lose like 2 starters and their coach the week of the playoff game? ................................................................................................................................ Pahokee's starting quarterback did not play in that last year playoff game, and they had just lost the coach a few days before the game. There was basically no coach in that playoff game, and they still almost won it. If that team (Pahokee from last year) was in tact, Trenton would have had major problems. But unlike Trenton, I believe Pahokee is better this year compared to last.
  24. Hopefully this young man learns from his mistakes. There is a lesson in everything.
