MuckCityChamp got a reaction from OldSchoolLion in Glades Central Succeeds Despite Coaching Turnover
I agree. But, those firings came from Principals that really didn't care about the community. Casko left on his own. The current one sees the big picture. So unless Hester resigns or does something unethical, its his job to lose.

Didn't mention Leroy because he was not head coach for 8 or more years, but he clearly laid a great foundation and made it easy for Blaze to carry the torch after it was passed on. Between the two of them, some great coaching continuity at Pahokee for a lot of years, and the results show for it.

Pahokee"s Coach was Leroy Foster for 3 of those championships. Blaze Thompson was the coach for 2.

Coach Antonacci was also on the staff at Glades Central when I was there. He was an Assistant on the 1997 Team that lost in the State Championship game against Jacksonville-Raines. He then was then OC the next 4 seasons and won 3 state titles in the mix. Coach was really a good man.

Oxbridge has a very experienced Coaching staff. Several of the coaches have been Head Coaches, with one of them being a State Champion coach in 2 states.

There is a a lot more to the story of the ones that have transferred out.

Oxbridge's numbers will be very low this spring. Transfer season probably won't pick up for them until summer time.

I wouldn't necessarily say that they would have to lower their education standards, because not every student, athlete or not, will not be a Superior student. Private schools have the option to be more or less lenient on their Policies whereas public schools have set standards. So you have some students that value the opportunity that's given and then there are the ones that have that, "they wanted me here, so I can get away with this or that," attitude. Oxbridge, just like other private schools have been hit with both kinds of students. So, they will be looking more into the students discipline history a little deeper instead of turning a cheek because they are an athlete.

Politics ran away some good Coaches and players from Clewiston. Nearby Moore Haven benefited from good athletes transferring from Clewiston.

That would add to many more games to a physical sport. 16 games is enough for High School football.

Maybe a few, but the attraction to Dwyer is not as hot anymore. Especially with Oxbridge being right down the road. Also, Gardens has been pulling more in than Dwyer lately. Benjamin is also near Dwyer, but the talk is the Elam kid is heading to Oxbridge.

Yes, though I could add Suncoast and Inlet Grove to that general proximity list, although those 3 don't have the football draw as the other 5. This off-season in that area will be interesting as far as transfers go.

MuckCityChamp got a reaction from peezy28 in Northwestern vs Armwood
I enjoyed the Nortwestern crowd this game. This was also a great game on the field. Armwood just couldn’t block the NW front. Especially the LG. He had a tough time in one on one situations, which brought immediate pressure in the QB’s face in crunch situations.

It was a great game. Cold, but great. Oxbridge showed some character by fighting back after going down 2 TDs. Shivers is very good. Has great balance to go along with that speed. #55 for Chaminade control the LOS on both sides of the ball. Shivers did good on the last drive, but that QB scramble for 21 was the game saver.
