  1. Miami Columbus 35 Lehigh 0 Surprised this game actually happened with the weather being so ugly all day down here. Running clock in the first half, 2s and 3s in for entire 2nd. Lehigh not much of an opponent vs the Explorers at home. Good news is the Explorer quarterback battle is real and should provide at least an adequate dual threat play caller next year, and more importantly someone to get the ball in the hands of either Norris or little Henderson. These 2 receivers are the real deal. Although some big playmakers were are lost over the past two seasons overall, there may not be much of a drop off next season on either side of the ball. At least based on this brief outing. Just gonna be a hell of and out of district schedule .
  2. Looks like Columbus will have an identical schedule as last year, still playing BTW and NW to keep it real non district. Gonna get real right quick with a kickoff pre-season @ Chaminade.
  3. Unfortunately, the QB Arguelles is a senior. But Columbus returns most of their playmakers and has a decent dual threat. upcoming QB. They'll be in the mix next year. But this was a tough loss to take. I expected a close one, but to lose with that lead is gut wrenching. But I can't lay the loss at the feet of that kid. Our kicker missed two relatively easy FGs, and the defense got eaten alive in the second half. Congrats to Miami High for not quitting.
  4. SMH, Miami High takes the lead and completes the 2-pat conversion. 28 unanswered points for the Stingarees with 3:00 left wow, just wow.
  5. Wow!! 6:49 left and now a 2-put game! columbus 22 miami High 20
  6. 6:49 left in 4th Columbus 22 Miami High 28 Columbus in control for most of the half. Two QB scrambles for TD by Arguelles, two missed field goals by normally reliable Maza. One successful 2pt conversion. Columbus D looking impressive, only allowed one large gain by electric Miami High back Jonny Ford (50yds or so). Miami High had some self inflicted wounds though penalties. But aside from the missed FGs, Columbus seems to be firing on all cylinders. Arguelles looked gimpy in final series, hoping it just the cramps that come with a 1:00pm game. random observation: for such a talented team, I can't believe MH has no one better than Ford to kick punts. He had about three so far that may have totaled 50 yards combined. 3rd quarter, Miami High offense showed some signs of life. Drive still marred by penalties, but MH receivers getting the job done running 5-wide set. Columbus needs to adjust against that. Columbus ball to start Q4 at midfield. QB Arguelles seems to be alright. 10:00 Columbus throws INT, returned inside Columbus territory. Miami High STILL running 5-wide even on the Columbus 1yd line. Can't blame em, it's working against the Explorer D. MH scores and converts 2-pts. We've got a game! And like that, Jonny Ford with a great catch. MH QB finding success with the long ball. 2-pat conversion fails but Miami High has all th momentum. Only 6:00 left. Again, Miami High showing grit, and the Columbus secondary getting ripped apart. Wide open receiver gets the long ball and walks it in for 28 unanswered points. Miami High now leads by 6 with 3:00 remaining. Columbus driving now with a big catch by Tyler Harrel. Explorers need to air it out. Too conservative on offense this quarter. Columbus driving with some help from a couple MH penalties. Henry parish took a shot and now out of the game for the Explorers. Columbus at MH 8 yard line with 1:10 left. Kalani Norris with his first major catch. Norris now injured too and limps off field. If Columbus pulls this out, they will need to make some major changes in secondary and need to heal quickly. columbus QB scrambles to the 1 with 50 seconds on the clock and fumbles. MH sits on it, I have no idea how they avoided the safety on the final three plays. That said, Columbus lost this game at the hands of their much touted D, and some conservative offensive play calling in the 3rd quarter. But credit to Miami High, they overcame some penalties and a sleep-walking 1st half to kill Columbus who could not defend the big play on the 5-wide set. Kudos to the MH coaches for making that crucial adjustment.
  7. I agree. Just to chime in - one of the worst officiated games I have encountered in recent history was this last 8A playoff game between Columbus and South Dade. It was a Broward crew. Don't think they were overly one-sided, but Columbus got some REALLY bad calls. Must have been 300 yards in penalties for both teams. Slowest game in seasons.
  8. Carol City 10 Mainland 0 miami high 7 Southridge 0 1st quarter
  9. Columbus' Courtney Holmes INT seals the deal for the Explorers. A couple kness and now waiting a matchup with the winner between Southridge and Miami High next week. Miami Columbus 28 South Dade 14 FINAL
  10. Henry Parrish on first play from scrimmage sprints for 50yds to the South Dade 1. Columbus punches it in on the next play. Converts 2 point conversion. That should do it. 1:57 left Columbus 28 South Dade 14
  11. After some crazy flag calling, Explorers backed up on offensive face mask and fumbled lateral scooped up by SD defender, returned for 6. Sloppy game with way too many flags on both sides. Failed onside kick by SD. 2:26 left , SD back in the game with that score Columbus 20 South Dade 14
  12. Columbus now burns themselves with flags. Settles for 2nd field goal. 7:00 in Q4 Columbus 20 SD 7
  13. South Dade definitely has the playmakers, but they are a bit undisciplined. Defense jumping on 4th and short, late hits, illegal blocks. Shooting themselves in the foot. Intentional grounding in end zone should have been safety for the Explorers. Instead Columbus driving at the start of Q4. Still 17-7
  14. SDs Tyrique Stevenson is an absolute monster. He has had at least two tackles by body slam. Arguelles scores, QB keeper capping 80 yd drive. Columbus 17 South dade 7 4:35 left in half
  15. Lots of stupid penalties so far - on both sides.
  16. Ok, Glad you clarified. Not sure how simply being a democrat is actually an insult. Just make sure you're not being a needling, beat-a-guy-when-he's-already-down, republican in the mean time. Not a good look for anybody. NLMAO.
  17. Nice of you to go through all the trouble to create an account just to gloat AFTER a win. Leave the kid alone.
  18. What does that have to do with anything? Actually what does that mean?
  19. (1) Columbus 50 (8) Homestead 0 8a region4 playoffs: Running clock in first half, 2s and 3s in 2nd half. Columbus firing on all cylinders tonight. But Homestead looked pretty awful.
  20. DB4, actually I'm an idiot. I spouted off before I realized I was thinking of Miami Beach, not North Miami Beach. My bad, bro.
  21. But in all honesty, NMB was absolutely horrible this year. I witnessed this first hand when they were shut out 52-0 at HALFTIME against my Explorers. Columbus isn't THAT good, NMB just looked awful.
  22. But BTW scheduled teams universally considered tougher (which happens to be above the 4a class). I think the smart complaints aren't so much about playing in or out of ones division, but playing tough opponents. BTW played a brutal out of division schedule. And the system hammered them for it.
  23. Miami Columbus 48 Coral park 6
