  1. You fell right into what he wants. The guy knows high school football like it’s nobody’s business. I don’t think he does anything but study it. Colquitt should be favored over TCA but it will be a good game.
  2. That 2015 Trenton team was one of the best coached teams I’ve seen in a long time. Good talent of course but I saw a disciplined, well oiled machine that hit dudes in the mouth and ran all over people.
  3. Unless there is a verified move (ie selling of home in one area & buying in another, ending a lease & getting another, etc), then it should be a 1 year sit. Its fine and dandy that adults can transfer jobs left and right but you know what I’ve found out about most of those people? They don’t make the same money they would if they stayed in the same place. I was hired with 4 other guys, 3 of whom left to get new jobs and not one of them makes as much as I do or the guy who stayed. The years you put in is typically reflected on your paycheck unless you’re an executive (where it actually pays to change jobs). Not saying you should stay in a bad situation but the grass usually isn’t greener.
  4. I’m not the biggest TCA fan but y’all got some playmakers in the secondary. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Davis, Brooks, and Robinson as kids as well (nothing against Coley, just haven’t heard much about him). So I think that it’s awesome that they’ll all be playing together this and I will root hard for them in college.
  5. A team’s age certainly matters. Look at the 2011 Booker T vs Bolles game. Booker T lost that game due to inexperience, as many of their superstars were sophomores. They were vastly superior talent wise (minus the Bolles OL, that was a heck of a group) and those guys made crucial mental errors. That didn’t happen the next two years. I always have believed that 99% of players will be better when they are seniors vs when they are freshman. They know the system better & are more physically, emotionally, and mentally mature. I remember having a conversation with the infamous Coach Propst years and years ago and he told me that he feels extremely confident about a team when they have 30+ seniors on the team because those are guys who know the system in and out.
  6. Yup I’d say so too. Daggum that’s a brutal schedule. But Central & Northwestern are built to handle it.
  7. Toughest schedule in the state? Good lord!
  8. The same plays, over and over again, is what I’m saying. Like they just don’t have the guys to belong on the field with you. And I wouldn’t say it’s bad coaching, it’s just not going to beat teams that are similar to you talent wise.
  9. I see a lot of BS offenses where it’s just get it to your best athlete in space and let him work. And that works wonders against most teams if you’re more talented than them. However, I am starting to see more college style offenses up here in NE FL.
  10. Been hearing that as well. They would be smart to not just let HS kids in but also MS
  11. As a married father to a couple of little ones, getting to HS games has been hard enough. This might be easier on me as I can just leave straight from work. Regardless, I’ll be tuned in to 1010XL for the postgame show every Friday. Excellent show. That being said, Saturday games would 1) completely eliminate my attendance as I spend my days inside gyms at wrestling tournaments or on the football field watching my little one play flag 2) split parents between pop warner and HS 3) the heat is dang near unbearable. We should not let a few bad apples control the circumstances of our lives. The kids should be playing on Friday night if the field is open and the other team is there.
  12. The FHSAA is powerless. Was talking to a buddy who had text messages & Twitter DM’s from a coach to a kid telling him “you need to leave such & such immediately, they don’t put guys D1 like we do.” Reported it & what happened? Absolutely nothing.
  13. Just what I heard, may be wrong. 21 players in total is correct tho right?
  14. 2014 I think. They beat Bolles that year in the state championship. I remember three kids from AHP transferring in after a coach from there joined Cocoa’s staff.
  15. My buddy is an IT guy who gets contracted out by hospitals (have your kids do that people, he makes high 6 figures) and he can’t go to the hospitals if he has the mildest health issue. Definitely a haven of germs and nasty pathogens.
  16. That’s disgusting. I’m about as big of a supporter of HS athletics but to hire this guy shows me the character of the school district.
  17. Bolles vs West Nassau should be good
  18. North Florida is closer to South Florida than it has been since the early 90’s. The results show it.
  19. What kind of vehicle are you driving that it would cost $300 to drive to Lakeland...? I could drive from Jax to Lakeland for $100 round trip in my truck.
  20. If you can’t win with that, you are a horrible coach.
  21. They’ll finish 3rd or 4th in their district
  22. https://www.firstcoastnews.com/mobile/article/sports/georgias-highest-paid-high-school-football-coach-stayed-employed-despite-a-decade-of-abuse-misconduct-allegations/77-884b36a2-36e8-4561-a6b9-4feeff61335e Dang! Rush had guys moving from Alabama to Georgia to play ball for him, that’s dedication! Colquitt sold their soul to lose more state title games than they won!
