Trinity is going to stay in 5A I believe. They’ll be in a district with Raines. If the cutoff is 745, you will see Bolles in 3A. Are you sure Baldwin will go to 1A? I had heard they were happy in 3A

Think about 3A for instance: Bolles, Cardinal Gibbons, Cocoa, Jesuit, and Carol City. All teams that even on down years would run roughshod over 3A now.

I like the first method more. Think we would be stronger 1A-4A without sacrificing up top at all really.

Is anyone surprised that a team who won a state title, that went 2-8 the year before, got a bunch of impact transfers? That’s the name of the game here in Florida. The addition of Beck was obviously huge and you can see the difference between when he didn’t play vs when he did this year. If you’re a good coach and you’ve got job opportunities out of state? Get gone. You can make more money and actually have more control over your success. You won’t have to deal with recruiting classes beating you anymore.

No need to bring up that incident. He has comeback from a huge mistake and is going to get a masters. Good for him.

I think the two biggest factors are the district strength & team experience. If you’ve got a tough district, then why not play a tough team and then schedule the rest easy? If you’ve got an easy district, then you should schedule 3-4 tough teams. Same goes with an experienced vs inexperienced team.

There is no better complementary sport in my eyes. When I was in my early coaching days, I was totally against it because I thought my guys would lose too much weight, blah blah blah. Then we had two JV backups become varsity starters the next year and they credited it to wrestling. They were more aggressive, more powerful, and could just manage their bodies better. One of them was a DL who went from 280 to 260 but looked much better. Obviously speed work and weightlifting are vital to success. If you aren’t doing those two things, then you’re getting passed up by those who are. If I were to ever get back into coaching, I’d want to be in a program where most of my guys to wrestle and we would have an offseason program in the morning where we did sprint work and weightlifting. Then do 7 on 7 in the spring and have the guys compete in weightlifting.

The real problem is we have so many transplants who aren’t from here. They aren’t bought into their community. My college roommate/teammate was from western PA. He was from a very football rich town and that they filled the opposing side bleachers and had standing room only for regular season away games. You had to buy tickets early for playoff games (home or away). Then the town took a crap ton of charter buses for the state title game in addition to those who drove. Why? Because it was a true community. They knew each others’ kids, parents, uncles & aunts, and grandparents in one way or another.

There is the talent in Tallahassee for a team or two to compete with the best of them. Godby on film was more talented than Cardinals Gibbons, Raines, Mandarin, Columbia, and TCA. About the same talent level as a Lakeland. They had multiple big time D1 guys flying around.

This Raines team is not as good as last years. I do believe that they should beat Cocoa tho

I’ve also had played golf/had dinner with Adrian Peterson & John Lynch. Tebow as well. Lynch is an incredible golfer...the other two? Not so much. The one sport I am certainly better than them at.

I had dinner with Jerry Jones in Dallas if that counts. I’ve also played golf with Jim Furyk and David Duval. One of the benefits of working for a very wealthy man, if only he’d pay me more haha

If Ross goes with Gus to Raines? Then all of the athletes will funnel there and TCA will decline & Raines will be the big powerhouse. If Ross stays at Trinity and Gus goes? There’s enough talent in the surrounding areas that they can both be dominant.

Absolutely. You’ll see more talent from Pro Impact follow him but they’ll still get their picks. TCA is doing a great job of getting the best youth football players into the school in middle school. If Gus goes to Raines, then I think you’ll see an even more talented Raines team than in previous years.

Duval and Clay. Still have friends throughout the area in Duval, Clay, St Johns, and Nassau. There was heavy transfers but this has caused an almost epidemic. There is a lawlessness in Duval where you never seem to know whose going where and why they are going there.
