The real issue is they pay for these massive stadiums but it needs a full grounds crew to maintain. All for what, 5 games? It’s insanity to me and I’m a huge HS football fan (obviously). I am not in the classroom, thank the Lord for that, but I’d be about ready to kill someone if I lost my job because of this.

I’m dumbfounded at the recklessness of the school district. I’d have required total private funding for the facilities. Also, in no way, should a HS football coach make more than the principal. His job is very important (top 5 in the school in many cases) but the principal is number 1 and it’s not really close.

Bishop Kenny was a little bit more talented. They’ve got a couple of playmakers on both sides of the ball. Not much depth. These are certainly not the Bolles teams of old, much less talented. Especially on the line of scrimmage. Been trending that way since 2011/12 if I remember correctly. Both teams were pretty banged up. I saw multiple starters not playing. I think Columbia beats Bolles by 50. Seriously. You guys would start 21 of your 22 on the Bolles team, they’ve got a good OT but that’s it.

I was at the game tonight (2nd time I’ve seen both times: Bolles vs UC and Bishop Kenny vs Ponte Vedra). Bolles won this game late, were down 28-16 with less than 5 minutes left. Very exciting finish.

The refs have to get control of the game and the administration needs to get control of their coaches. Plain and simple. Ive seen refs allow kids to punch other kids in the face and throw no flags. Coach gets flagged yelling at the refs to do something. Then a brawl breaks out three plays later. Whose fault is that? The refs. Not the kids nor the coaches. Administration of both schools need to get together on a Saturday afternoon and bring both coaches in and tell them that this stuff needs to be settled right then and there or they are both gone.

‘08 It was a combination of 3 things that started this slide: PV opening, the FHSAA violations (which is how they were winning), and the subsequent departure of their coach.

They don’t play a Bolles, Trinity, Apopka/Wekiva and Colquitt year in year out. That’s a top 5 schedule in the state. I might actually go after Osceola instead of Apopka/Wekiva since I know they sometimes struggle to fill their schedule.

If you got rid of Suwannee on the schedule I’d try to move Bolles to the KOC, then try to add an Apopka/Wekiva & a Valdosta/Colquitt. Now granted you guys wouldn’t want that schedule every year.

You guys are fine, especially if you continue to get better as the season goes along.

Sounds like it was a great game. Trinity almost blew it with the penalties but they might have enough talent to get away with it in 5A though.

I’d be there but I have a wedding reception to attend tonight. Should be a great one and I’ll be paying attention

That’s the thing about St Aug. They are one of those teams who have consistent 9-1 or 10-0 regular seasons and make deep playoff runs every year.

I’m very familiar with the 904 as a whole. The problem is they graduated like 18 starters and 32 guys who got significant playing time. They have also had some bad injuries and have had to start a QB who can’t make the throws, as almost any team would have to on QB #4. They’ve also got a really talented freshman group, like seriously talented. Im not concerned about the program at all. They will be fine, they got a good head coach and a great system from pop warner on up. Bad luck has caused this year to be a bad one for them but they will be fine. Look for them to return to final four contention next year.

That’s who I was going to say for NE FL. Baldwin has been a shock

Hamilton Co should not be anywhere near as bad as they are but I do believe they lose their best athletes to Madison Co and Suwannee

How do you guys think the Apopka vs Wekiva game goes?

Man I feel bad for guys who recruit guys in and then those guys leave...not.

Y’all got a great football team. I was driving down to Disney after work, realized I’d hit Apopka at about 6:45 and stopped in to watch the first half. That Darlington kid makes you guys dangerous in both the run and pass game.

Sounds like a team up here in the north, they play one coverage (cover 3) and their offense is jet sweep left, jet sweep right, read option, and a bubble screen. I got out of coaching when I saw a team like that win because I realized they just recruited a bunch of really talented kids. Pathetic. And that right there is the difference between Florida and Georgia. I see no team in Georgia dominating with such little coaching.
