I will take Lakeland's 28 straight years in the playoffs, 6 state championships in those 28 years and a 60 game regular season winning streak as well as a 53 game winning streak over a few teams who can on occasion say...we beat Lakeland once or twice in our history.
Hillsborough isn't  cooking anything worth eating...

Good for Edgewater. I can't see STA not winning however, but I was wrong about Armwood. But Armwood isn't STA. Good luck!

LOL!  It's too bad Hillsborough County won't be going East on I-4, North on I-75 and West on I-10.  I really expected HC to get one school to the ship. SMH...

HC had one heck of a season. Congrats on getting 5 schools to the semi’s. Come back stronger in 2020.

I am not sure how much better Edgewater is from last year when Lakeland crushed them but I doubt anyone will have an easy time playing that Armwood Defense anywhere...anytime. (including STA)
Let alone at that rinky-dink, cow pasture set in a traffic-jam that Armwood calls a home field.

    I could see 27-21
But think 21-13 Armwood is where I would be.

I give Venice props for scheduling IMG - most Florida schools wouldn't have the guts to do so (likely Lakeland as well).

Most people get jazzed up by STA but as a Lakeland fan I haven't found them much to get excited about...
That said, I have to say that Venice is very good and battle tested (which is apparently the only thing that matters to some posters here  ) and I wish the game was in Venice BUT I have to go with STA at home and by a good margin.
At least 27-13 ish range and maybe more.
And no disrespect intended but I want to see Armwood's Defense have a shot at STA. I think STA will still defeat Armwood but I enjoy watching STA have issues and get frustrated with good D's

Armwoods Defense is good, real good.
Armwood's field looks like it needs a coat of green paint.

Well I was wrong. Armwood kicked the snot out of Lakeland.

With Lakeland selling their 1000 tickets, plus the ones out of Armwood's allotment they bought from GoFan, the Lakeland side will be ridiculously packed. Those stands may hold 500-600. Then add in the band.......I'm thinking I may wear neutral clothing and sit on the Armwood side.

    Just to add.....
As of this afternoon, Lakeland sold out of their allotment of tickets. So, the only way to get tickets now is at Armwood, or through GoFan with the "super secret" promo code: ArmwoodPlayoff
Armwood has stated that no tickets will be sold at the gate.

Despite the concerns over two Lakeland players, Lakeland's offense was just fine last week, but 166 Yards of penalties did not help. Including 6 personal fouls. Lakeland was sloppy and listless on offense. Just like last years Kathleen playoff game in the cold.
The defense got gashed by a well balanced team and the Tech running back. It was this side of the ball that really struggled this week.
Again look forward to this game.

Every game TBT had to step up to competition, Armwood, Gaither and Bloomingdale, they got smooshed.
Lakeland is (should) better at all facets.
Now Lakeland just needs to go out and win the game.
Hope it won't be a fun or close game at all.

If we being honest the idea of having seeding is we will likely see most blowouts early as the teams that don't belong get weeded out and help us get better games later in the playoffs

But we shall see how it goes, I saw quite a bit of very good 2nd round matchups this week

Tough defensive battle yesterday night. Gaither held Armwood to 3 first downs in the 1st half. The only first half score came off a strip ball by the Armwood defense (late in the 2nd quarter). Score at half time was 7 - 0 Armwood. Armwood next score came late 3rd quarter. The Gaither defense stood strong, but in the end Armwood came out on top. It was a great Test for Gaither, Gaither boys demeanor was good, they are ready for the playoffs. First time in school history, Gaither ended the season 9-1, not bad.

LAKELAND -- Hazel Haley has seen a million games around here. Even she hadn't seen many like the one Friday night.
Her favorite team lost. That hadn't happened since she was 88 years old.
Hazel's 91 now, meaning it has been three state championships and a state-record 53 games since Lakeland fans felt like this. They didn't just leave disappointed; it was a shattering experience.
    Literally.
Osceola won 25-21 when quarterback T'Sharvan Bell leaped into the end zone from a yard out with 24.4 seconds left.
About 0.3 second later, the window in the visiting team's coaching box was punched out in celebration. A woman came out a minute later with an embarrassed grin.
"He thought it was plastic," she said.
It was the kind of moment and the kind of night that reminds you why high school football is so often better than what people see on Saturdays and Sundays. Nothing against the Patriots-Colts, but not even they can provide what fans got at Bryant Stadium.
    Free parking.
A waterboy who is barely taller than the players' socks.
    $2.50 hamburgers.
Runners like Osceola's Gerard "Momo" Thomas and Lakeland's Jason Guzman, neither of who are much taller than the waterboy.
Two-way players like Bell, who played quarterback, cornerback and basically never left the field for three hours.
    Fans like Hazel.
She really hadn't seen a million Dreadnaughts games, but it's not much of an exaggeration. Hazel graduated from Lakeland High in 1933 and became a teacher seven years later.
What was the football scene like 70 years ago?
"It was like this, darlin'," Hazel said.
There were maybe 9,000 people there Friday night, including an elderly gent with a big orange battleship on his head. Some things haven't changed since the Hoover Administration.
"That Dreadnaught spirit was there," Hazel said. "Just like this."
She didn't stop teaching English until last year. After all those Friday nights drenched in Dreadnaughts spirit, she's developed a good nose for scouting.
    How about those Kowboys?
"I'm a little apprehensive," Hazel said.
Osceola was unbeaten and ranked No. 2 in Class 5A. Lakeland was No. 1 but had lost all but four starters off last year's team.
Both teams have qualified for the playoffs and probably will face each other again in three weeks. So all that was at stake Friday was a home-field advantage in that game.
Well, that and all that ongoing history. Lakeland's quarterback, Jarred Haggins, was in the fourth grade the last time the Dreadnaughts lost at home.
He guided Lakeland to a 21-7 third-quarter lead. Hazel, sitting in her 45-yard-line seat, relaxed a minute.
    "It's looking better," she said.
Then history was weirdly derailed. Lakeland appeared to have taken a 27-13 lead, but tailback T.K. Lamb fumbled just before reaching the end zone.
Osceola recovered and scored a quick touchdown. After a punt, the Kowboys got the ball at the Lakeland's 37-yard line with 2 minutes, 59 seconds left.
You didn't need Hazel's football eyes to see what was coming. Bell drove the Kowboys downfield.
He scored. A window broke. So did about 7,500 Dreadnaughts hearts.
Lakeland's players threw their helmets down in disgust. A few of them couldn't hold back the tears.
"Hey," a Lakeland assistant yelled. "We're going to see them again in three weeks!"
If it's anything like Friday night, here's a piece of football wisdom worthy of Hazel Haley.
Install plastic windows in the coaching box.
