Most of that is probably kids leaving First Baptist.
Officially 13 left First Baptist. Golden Gate, even after the return of Coach Bigica, lost 6 to other schools. The two biggest gainers were St John Neumann (11) and Community School (9)

No, but named after him

We lost some studs on defense, so that will be a wait and see. Shawn Simeon graduated, the #2 runner in the state, but we have a few young bucks that are willing to step up. This transfer portal is nuts, we have almost 60 kids in Collier that have changed schools. We lost 4, 2 of them would have been starters. Lely picked up a bunch and now arguable have the best QB (Brady Quinn) and RB {Nino Joseph) in the area. There offense was great last year and is only better now. If they can solidy that porous defense, they will be tough to beat. It took a Herculean effort to beat Port Charlotte last year and they look loaded again this year. I am hoping we can go 7-3. Getting back to the regional finals wil be a tall order.

I know we already have a thread about “Must See” classic games, but can we compile a list of all the preseason games? They should not appear on MaxPreps (although a few do list them there). I know a few in SW Florida
Aubrey Rogers @ Cape Coral
Barron Collier @ Cooper City
Riverdale @ Dunbar
Gulf Coast @ Naples
Immokalee @ South Ft. Myers
Oasis @ Palmetto Ridge
Sarasota Riverview @ Port Charlotte

Billy Sparacio, The only Head Coach First Baptist of Naples has ever had, has been dismissed. Expect some players & coaches to depart, similar to what happened at Palmetto Ridge & Golden Gate in the past few seasons.

Barron Collier Cougars hire Brannon Tidwell as HC to replace Mark Jackson

Derrick Gibson in at HC for Miami Central

A few minor changes - the biggest is that when a forward fumble goes out of bounds, it is now returned to the spot of the fumble.

Mark Jackson at Barron Collier resigned after 10 seasons, citing health reasons

Lehigh is looking for a new Head Coach

When I saw the Indians during warmups, I noticed their size and speed advantage. They played about like I expected, and we made it close, but the game was never in doubt. Like Coach Martin said, playing a team like Venice only made us better. They exposed some weaknesses and we will have plenty to work on over the summer.

Thanks - this will help!

I plan on going to that game. I wonder how good Lehigh will be with all that star power. I’ve seen them play 3 times over the years without ever seeing them win. The last time was 2 years at Charlotte. I know it was only his sophomore year but the Tarpons pretty much shut Richard Young down.
I haven’t had hardly any contact with NHSBob since a Sarasota Riverview @ Naples games almost 20 years ago. My screen name may have been different then(UncleSaluki). Looking forward to it.
How could I forget that 1st round playoff game! We were loaded with D1 talent and the game went down to the wire. In regards to Young, he is fast, and really strong. If we can slow him down we'll be OK, but if he gets into the secondary, it will be a very long night.

Glad to hear from you, NHS Bob. Can’t wait to see Naples play this season. Will you be attending Naples @ Venice week 2?
You Bet! We'll be towards the top on the 50, my wife & I record the stats for Coach Martin. I am glad that we were able to get you guys back on the schedule, iron sharpens iron.

Great to hear from you! We need to fill the leadership position at QB, but we have two talented underclassmen to choose from. The secondary looks really good, not sure how our linebacker core will be. Coach Rick and our new AD Cassie went after some quality opponents, and I'm sure they will be glad to expose our weak spots.
I'll be in the booth doing stats for Lehigh, but would love to hook up. We go to Gulf Coast in two weeks, can't wait.

I think some of the teams mean well, but are not sure what does and doesn't go on the schedule. Perhaps if MaxPreps would send out some guidelines, i.e., don't post Spring games, or Kickoff classics on the schedule, it might cut down on on some of the erroneous information. Maybe the AD needs to sign off on the schedule too.
I understand that this will not fix all of the ills, but it might be a good start

Do you have a link to the new at large selection rules? FHSAA still has the 21-22 football publication linked.

I don't think the RPI is a factor this year, I believe that the MaxPreps rankings will be used for playoff seeding.

I there a collection of Spring games? Only 4-5 weeks away and I'm sure there are some pretty good games out there.

In regards to 11 game schedules, I spoke with a rep from MaxPreps regarding Kickoff classics. He said it was “OK” to list the KOC games, and that MaxPreps would delete it once the season started. I had not listed the KOC until I heard this, so I put our game on there. Mostly for fans to see the complete schedule. If MaxPreps would communicate how they want this handled, that would help.
