I think if Madison doesn't win by 70 they should have to play STA to try and win their 4th straight Championship this year

Hold up Hoss, I've seen comments for years where a couple of those 1a teams claim they can play with anybody in the state. Well then, here's their chance.

Miami Norland vs Orlando Edgewater. Edgewater made what looked like a game winning drive ending in a touchdown when the running back took it in on a draw play. The drive was highlighted by some spectacular catches by Mike Walker of Edgewater, including one where he dived laterally to catch the ball full stretch.
Unfortunately, for Edgewater, despite having a good kicker, they elected to pooch the ball to prevent a long return, giving Norland the ball at about their 40. This Norland team had too big time receivers including Dwayne Bowe who would star at LSU and have a very good NFL career. However, Robert Spence elected instead, to throw the ball to a receiver who had not scored a touchdown the entire season. He collected the ball between Kenny Ingram and another Edgewater receiver and dived into the endzone, scoring with about 20 seconds on the clock. Edgewater got the ball back but was unable to bring off a second miracle.
That night was the coldest night I ever watched a game live. I watched the game on the Norland side because my niece was a Norland Junior. I was the sole Edgewater fan on that side and took a lot of grief after the game.

Damn, very angry -  told her she should have moved to Punta Gorda instead of Naples. We could have set her up with Wavebb and they would have been happy ever after

Marcus Shaw Desoto Bulldogs;  saw a 2 hr rain delay at the Fish Bowl with him and Charlotte's Michael Bellamy, then the Number 1 and 2 rushers in the state showdown. Those two kept everybody in their seats, no one left. My youngest caused 2 fumbles that night. Played at USF

I don't blame them, after that Trainwreck of a meeting on Monday I hope all the SFL counties as well as metros like Orange, Hillsborough, and Duval do the same

Heck I hope Columbia considers leaving as well and if you followed Twitter you probably would have seen coach Allen firing on all cylinders against the decision and especially considering we just had a coach out here at Columbia pass away from Covid, we may be a "small county" but we ain't backing the decision by the FHSAA and it's ridiculous that the FHSAA gave in to a few rural nowhere counties and ignored over 90% of the state but I guess that's why the old dude at the beginning of the meeting didn't want the public to be allowed to ask questions until after the vote even after the representative from Tampa called him out on it

FHSAA chooses to do nothing, but allow for voluntary post-season and allow the regular season to extend into post-season.

Neut contributed football wise, knew his stuff, but he was more of an editorial page guy and this time of year we'd all get a little too far off topic.  The regulars who came back during the season were some pretty astute/connected football guys (Like the Manatee crowd). Then it started getting barraged by the scam/trolls.
FlA Va  will always hold a special place for me - I met some good guys there like the late-great Blue-2 (Who even went and watched my youngest play at a game I couldnt make up in St Pete, and introduced himself afterwards), some true characters, and a few of us even got together before games, on the sidelines or at Wave's retreat in Ruskin. I wrote my first of 11,700+ posts after Charlotte beat St Thomas Aquinas right after Oracle,  their famous baiter,  said they were coming over for their "Annual playoff tune -up on the West Coast." Plus it was a great Friday night get-home-from-the-game and check the first hand views of a few important, or even not so important games.

    APOPKA MOURNS LOSS OF MCMILLER
It's the haunting lyrics from a popular Peter, Paul & Mary ballad:
But it seems the good, they die young. I just looked around and he's gone.
That's also the refrain coming from Apopka High School this past week. The school community is mourning the loss of Theodis McMiller III, 19, who drowned when his canoe overturned during an outing last weekend in Bowling Green, Ky.
Some Apopkans remember McMiller, nicknamed Tre, for his touchdown catch that opened up the running game en route to the Blue Darters beating Miami Northwestern for the 2001 Class 6A state football championship.
Others remember him for being one of 16 senior teammates to sign grants-in-aid to continue their education and football. McMiller was among seven who signed with Western Kentucky, where he played this year as a true freshman.
Some may even remember he wore No. 11, the same number his father wore as a pioneering minority quarterback for the Blue Darters.
Apopka Athletic Director Phil King remembers McMiller as epitomizing what you want in a student-athlete.
"He led by example. He did whatever coaches and teachers wanted. Just an outstanding young man," King said. "He was always upbeat, cheerful. Life was good. This is a great loss to our community."
Principal John Edwards remembers him for being the person he was.
"He was a role model for all kids," Edwards said. "He represented Apopka High School as well as anybody who has come through here. You can't say enough good things about him. This is a real tragedy."
The elder McMiller, eloquent and thoughtful, shared with Orlando Sentinel High School Sports host Bill Shafer:
"I hope I can use his life to encourage parents never to take kids for granted. You never know when it's your last time together."
Young McMiller was a class act, the leader of a class program. He made Apopka and all who knew him proud.

This was a gimme. Apopka only completed one pass (for a long touchdown) in handing the Bulls a 34-16 beating in the 6A title game in 2001 up at the Doak. Now to be fair, the Darters should have been two for two on passes as Antoine Coley dropped one in the endzone when he was wide open.
While a running team, it is slightly misleading to describe Apopka as one dimensional as it always has multiple backs and often the ball is snapped to multiple individuals during the course of a game.
