  1. Hey everyone! The first day of practices is under wraps now and with things getting closer and closer, I have a full list of kickoff classics around the state for Aug 16-18. Should you know of any games missing, or changes needed, including dates, please let me know. 2. Everyone... I am working on posting 2023 Schedules via this link. I am having to round them up and get them from teams so please be patient with me. Also, note some schedules I had already and now they have changed due to the FHSAA deciding on a midcycle reclassification with less than 50 days out on at least one team and now is causing a domino effect. 3. I got more coming soon. I have been swamped getting ready for media days.
  4. Evans is still in a district. There are some issues that happen this time of year it seems with the system communicating between the FHSAA, Home Campus, and MaxPreps. I would not rely strictly on MaxPreps for current info on districts.
  5. Schedule Breakdowns for Lake Minneola, Merritt Island, and Bradford added today on 6/19.
  6. Everyone, I am getting ready to post an entire schedule section on FloridaHSFootball.com (FREE, I promise), that will have all the schedules as I get them in. I am setting up the pages now and working to get as many schedules I can in each day while working on fresh content for you all. Hang tight!

  13. With Governor DeSantis signing HB 225 into law last week, major changes are in store for the FHSAA. This is the biggest change in 26 years since the 1997 shake up that eliminated the five-member executive committee and reduced the 33-member Board of Directors down to the current 16 that is in place at the moment. Now among the changes include reducing the board to 13 members with the governor picking 8 people and another 4 members will be elected by the FHSAA membership with the final person being that of the Commission of Education or their designee for that spot. I have put together a full breakdown of what it means and how to understand it all here: https://floridahsfootball.com/2023/05/22/understanding-all-the-changes-that-are-coming-to-the-fhsaa-this-summer-with-the-signing-of-house-bill-225/
  14. Please do not paste other articles into the forums. Articles are not free for taking, especially when they are behind a paywall. Link sharing is fine. As for this topic, there is a fine line here, and the title is going to be edited. I am not for even having this be a discussion on here, but I don't want to stop you all from discussing but I am not going to partake on this. If this gets out of hand, I am shutting it down. No questions asked.
  15. Aubrey Rogers is opening up this fall in Naples and will have varsity football out of the gate.
  16. I want to say thank you so much @imjustafan2! I hope others on here will follow as well in subscribing!
  17. Hey everyone... this is what I have shared over the last couple of hours that way you all can be aware of what is ahead here! We are happy to announce the launch of our NEW MVP Membership Subscriptions. Going forward their will be three tiers for subscriptions under the MVP Membership Subscriptions: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Silver will cost $10 a month, Gold will be $50 for 6 months and Platinum will cost $90 for a year. Sign up for subscription: https://flhsfb.com/3VnWBwk FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions): https://flhsfb.com/44Ik2V Yes, most of what we will be doing going forward will require a subscription to view content. This will be worth it that way we can provide the coverage that you all want and deserve! We wish we could provide all of it FREE, but economically we would close if we continued on that path. NOTE: For those who had yearly subscriptions under the old FloridaHSFootball.com+ Memberships will get an email this weekend about honoring the remainder of their subscription and how that will work.
  18. @DarterBlue2 @badbird @Jambun82 - Not going to close the site. Drawn up a plan to make this work. Want to keep the forums going. I want this continue on for everyone!
  19. So right now, the plan is to relaunch the subscription service. The forums will remain free, but to get access to most content will cost at least a new monthly subscription to be priced at $10. This will help cover costs for hosting the website, software, travel, paying people to write, etc. A 6-month subscription and a 12-month subscription tier will get more benefits on top of the monthly.
  20. Thank you @DarterBlue2 I just posted this updated on social media: As of today the FloridaHSFootball.com+ Subscription Service has ended. Any subscribers will not see their accounts charged anymore going forward. We are going to revamp the subscription service with a new commitment to premium content and content that will be unique along with updates that you all have come to trust from us. It will be a new goal and challenge, but one that must be made if we are to continue forward. Having heard from a lot of people already asking us not to consider shutting down, we need those same people to support us once things are decided on a new subscription service platform. Once things are laid out more concrete we will share those details which will be sometime within the next week or two.
  21. All, Things are tough around here. Unfortunately, the site is losing money, and I am having to look at all options from revamping my monetization strategy which includes a whole new subscription platform including having subscribers pay for almost everything that will be placed behind a paywall and/or potentially charging for access to the forums. Another option in consideration is to basically shut the website down entirely (something I would not want to do, but may have to). At this point, everything is on the table as we enter May. I can't keep giving everything away for free anymore including access to the forums without revenue coming in. This is not a hobby for yours truly here, this is a livelihood. JOURNALISM IS NOT FREE, THE NEWS IS NOT FREE, MEDIA IS NOT FREE... there is a cost to it and sadly when people don't want to pay or are unwilling to pay for content, it impacts jobs across the board in this industry. The ads you all see here bring in little revenue. I do not make a lot of money on those. The only ads I make money on are ones I directly sell and companies are unfortunately pulling back or they are dumping a lot of that ad money into Facebook or Google, which, unfortunately, dominates the market for ads by over 80%, leaving little room for independent publishers like myself to make money. The only way at this point I can see this all remaining free is if I get donations or an investor (which they are pulling back with a recession looming). So I just want to give you all a heads up of what could be coming soon. Josh
  22. And all of these recommendations will take two-years before anything can be implemented. They will have to have another read by both the Football Advisory and ADAC in 2024 before they go to the board for an official vote, if they make it that far.
