  1. This list includes teams who still play till this day. Numbers in parentheses indicates the first and/or last year they played football. I will break them up into North, East, Central and South Florida. If I am missing any please let me know
  2. It’s gonna be spotty at best but I will let you know what i have for them when I get home
  3. As you know I research the history of football in the state. I have a specific folder for all the historically black football teams before 1967 when they either closed or joined the FHSAA. As I was researching the teams from Tampa (Middleton, Blake, and Thompson) I stumbled upon Booker T Washington that I had not heard of. Come to find out they are the oldest historically black school to play football in Tampa. Older than the other 3 mentioned. So as I started to research more I came across the yearbook. I was grateful to find it because not only did it confirm the 1st year they started playing football which is sometimes really hard to find, but they showed the results as well. I too caught myself reading the entire yearbook in amazement and even busted out laughing at the goofy dad jokes at the end. Lol.

  5. Definitely integrated. Desegregation started in 1967 officially so 1971 wasn’t that long of a time after. But 24/71 is a good number for only 5 years
  6. I checked their yearbook. I counted 71 players with at least 24 being black. This site won’t let me upload pictures.
  7. Miami Northwestern was and all-black segregated school and played football from 1955-1966 before integration. They never closed and kept playing till this day. Mays played football from 1953-1968 before fazing out due to desegregation. (Best season was 1966. Went 11-0 and beat Gainesville Lincoln for the Negro State Championship) North Dade played ball from 1959-1965 before closing and the went to Carol City or North Miami High Miami Carver played until 1965 with Mays picking up most of the key transfers. Probably why Mays was so good in 1966. Lol. Nathaniel “Traz” Powell coached Carver from 1947-1965 winning 5 state titles before moving on to Mays after Carver turned into a middle school. Booker T Washington is the oldest of the bunch with scores for them tracing back to the 1930’s. Powell played for them in the 40’s. BTW stopped playing football in 1967 all the way to 1998 before resuming in 1999 Dorsey High played ball until 1954. They closed and Northwestern took the 2 colors (blue and gold) and the Bulls mascot.
  8. Ft Pierce Central beat Norland in the state semi finals in 1971 by the score of 14-13. Down late 7-13, FPC threw a double reverse 51 yard TD pass and kicked the extra point which proved to be the winner. FPC would go on to beat Robinson for the title in front of 10,000 at Lawnwood Stadium
  9. 1968 regular season game Melbourne beat Norland 25-18 after Lynn Blackman for Melbourne busted 2 long touchdowns runs in the 4th quarter to seal the game
  10. Vs Dade County 322-255-5 vs Broward 32-29-3 vs Palm Beach 4-1 vs Monroe 3-3 vs Duval 2-1 vs Orange 1-1 vs Hillsborough 1-2 vs Polk 1-2 vs out of state 1-3 vs Wakulla 1-0 vs Manatee 1-0 vs Lee 1-0 vs St Lucie 0-1 vs Brevard 0-1 vs Volusia 0-1 vs IMG 0-2 Totals 370-302-8
  11. You sound butt hurt like your team lost to a team with more talent and better overall at the game of American football
  12. Lincoln vs Delaware Valley PA is an interesting one
  13. I remember a few years ago a kid from the Westchase Colts pop Warner team committed to play for them. Not sure if he ever went. But if all these guys stay local, there will be some more quality football being played for whoever benefits.
  14. Haha yeah Woe is me Rick needs to work the kinks out.
  15. It’s sad. They put over 100 international kids into college to play football over the last few years. Kids that would have never had the opportunity to live out their dream without CAI. They did alot of good and never wanted to be like an IMG. They never lied about their model. They had rosters made up primarily of Canadian and European players learning the game of American High School football.
  16. Too funny. Classic “Oh Woe is me” Rick.
  17. I highly doubt those kids are commuting from Tampa to Venice every day. It is most likely a family relocation. And should Venice turn them away? Venice isn’t doing anything that any other team can’t do. They are being criticized for being one of the better teams who benefit from it.
  18. Do you have a list of their transfers that were contributors on that 21 team and the former team they came from? Or can you get it?
  19. What I’m trying to say is the metro/suburban split was supposed to give the suburban teams an easier path where they didn’t have to compete against those mean ole metro teams but Venice crushed the narrative.
  20. Suburban Venice destroys 4 metro teams in the 2021 playoffs by a combined 174-28. Complete demolition. Obliterated all of them. so in response the FHSAA Splits the state up into suburban and metro divisions because it’s so unfair to the suburban teams. clown world not meant to be taken seriously
  21. The hypocrisy is jaw dropping. And the hypocrisy is systemic. It is ingrained into the DNA of Florida high school football.. For example, the small rural schools were cranking out titles for a couple decades, and then a few small privates started to become successful so they started bitching and crying about it being unfair. so they gave them a special little class to appease the complainers. But then you see blowouts and demolitions All through the class most notably in the state title games and no one says a peep. Madison County beats Baker in the title game 48-6 and no one bats an eye. But university Christian wins by 20 or 30 against the same rural l teams and everyone is in an uproar. It’s so hypocritical you can’t take it seriously
  22. Post the link of the cheating. If you can’t post the link where they were cheating then you are just pulling stuff out of your a$$. Players in the state of Florida can transfer to whatever school they desire. It is the decision for the player and their family. It is not my decision or yours. it is not my fault that Chaminade is surrounded by some of the best football talent in the entire Milky Way galaxy. so when players transfer there, just like they do around the entire state, it is going to make a much bigger impact than four or five kids, transferring from one Gainesville team to another.
  23. He’s basically saying he doesn’t want to play any teams who could beat them the same way they beat teams last year.
  24. I think he is saying this because he doesn’t want to play any good teams. He won 50-3, 60-18 and 70-12. Don’t feel bad for them. They want more of the same
  25. You could have 5 classes based on the last 4 years class 1 - winning percentage .000-.200 class 2 - winning percentage .201-.400 and so on
