I have l the results for GC/Pahokee.
Glades Central opened in 1970. I have their whole history.
Pahokee has been playing football since the 1930’s.
Back in the 1940’s there was a school called Everglades Vocational for the black students in the Pahokee/Belle Glade area. They were renamed Lake Shore High in 1955.
Belle Glades High was the school for the whites. They were the Golden Rams. They started playing football in the early 40’s.
In 1970 after desegregation, Lake Shore and Belle Glades merged to form Glades Central- A-Town561 and MarkECannon

Sad thing is it’s hard to get coaches and AD’s on board with advancing a competitive system because the more classes there are, the easier the path is. So they are always going to want the easiest path for job security, and career perception

5 classes, 100 teams give or take per class. That averages 6-7 teams per district.
if you acquire 7 football transfers, or net 5 whichever is least, you move to an open playoff bracket. Assuming you make the playoffs.
Problem with just picking a transfer number is teams lose players too. So just because you gain 7, if you lose 5 it’s not the same as someone else gaining 7 and losing none obviously.

You are correct, we have played them a lot over the years although I am not certain they made up one of the teams in the Ridge Conference you mention but probably did. We played in that conference in the late 50's thru mid 60's before joining the Orange Belt conference that included Apopka, Deland, Longwood, Bishop Moore, Lyman and Lakeview HS (now West Orange). These were bigger schools but I thought the Ridge was tougher overall as it was a trip down Hwy. 27 and included Haines City, Sebring, Avon Park, Fort Meade, Mulberry and Lake Placid. Those little schools seemed to all be tough back then.
I know they were both in the ridge conference together, but I’m not sure how long. I have all that info at home. I’ll see what I can find.

I was thinking to keep things simple, for the playoffs since there is 5 rounds, we can have the top 10 posters make the playoffs, and 2 get eliminated each round. And the tie breaker will always be the higher seed from the regular season, giving the regular season meaning.
