Agree with you , 1A was not suppose to be were you could create a charter school so you could drop down in class.Thats why this whole Metro/Suburban about fairness and tired of the same teams winning then what did they do to 1A were the same team will win every year. The only way for us true 1A teams to compete with a school twice our size is to do like Hawthorne and bring in like 10 starters from different schools but the problem is most 1A schools don't have the luxury of Hawthorne and be located in a county with 300,000 people were lucky to have 20,000.But isn't this what they say is why they need a split is because of the transfers and that is our only chance to compete with Madison is to do exactly that.

Need to cut down on classes and put more teams in each class. That way big schools and privates have more competition when compared to smaller schools with less resources. A rising tide carries all ships.

What do you think they should do with Charter School especially if the charter school kids only have 1 option to play sports at in their respected county? Heck the way it is now let’s let IMG drop to the smallest class their enrollment would work.Or it doesn’t matter what school system create a athletic school only and move all the other kids who don’t play sports out to another school and everybody can drop down a couple classes.

Sorry for the late response, I did not see your comment on my timeline. I believe that anyone who attends a charter school that does not offer sports who wants to play for a school that offers the sport needs to have their enrollment counted towards the school they are playing for as well. The "loophole" in place now is ridiculous because if you attend a charter school but play sports elsewhere your enrollment is still only counted once, although you are participating in the events of another school and are technically a member of their events as well. It doesn't make much sense but if you could have it make sense you would probably be a millionaire. lol

According to the FHSAA Handbook, a senior high school shall be classified on the basis of the school’s traditional student population in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades as reported during the week in October designated by the Florida Department of Education for the fall semester FTE survey of public schools, combined with the total number of non-traditional students from the previous school year.  Non-traditional Students are students who are not enrolled in nor physically attend the school at which they participate, including, but not limited to; Home Education Students, Charter School Students, Special School Students, Non-Member Private School Students and Full-Time Florida Virtual School Students.  So there is some accounting for students who do not attend the school for which they play.
