  • 3 weeks later...

From seeing them in the spring against clearwater countryside I would say they do, Manatee just did basically did anything they wanted to that night In a lopsided win, but the secondary is very young and don't know how far they could go with them being so young back their. The offense should average close to 45 ppg, very experienced group on that side

If that D don't get straight then they'll just be in shootouts

agree. They just need to get some games under their belt and they will have a tough stretch against some real stiff competition the first 4 weeks to get them better for hopefully a really good playoff run

Manatee like some other teams in this state can play soft teams but make a serious run tho

exactly. After those first 4 with the preseason against armwood included in that 4 the schedule is really light, nobody in the district should even come close unless Manatee just blows up with one injury after another then the finale against crosstown rival southeast which is really been a lopsided game the last 3 years in favor of Manatee

We only 5 losses behind manatee for most wins in Florida history, how much longer manatee supposed to be good, I'm wondering how long it gonna take to get that record back lol

lol idk but Manatee is supposed to have a great freshman class coming in, jv was good last year only lost 1 game and the freshman was horrible last year, but they have been the last few years, what helps Manatee is their bevy of transfers they seem to get

All it took for us to lose the record in 08 was one bad year, guess one bad year can get it back lol

I was glad FPC beat them because Manatee fans and team are rude.

Sad thing about it is that we hate FPC and they are our rival.

well that's when joe kinnan was still in charge, Manatee had some nasty players on that team I will admit. Coach booth is changing the culture know and the fans just sit back and team just plays the game know the way it's supposed to be played

    • It's possible that they find their stride by week 5, but at the moment we just don't have the on-paper talent to compete with teams like Miami NW, IMG National, Cocoa, or Bishop Verot. If Venice can find a way to go 7-3 with that schedule I would be happy

    • Just wait till spring is over and the top RB in the area will take his talent to 1 Indian Ave.
    • This will be an interesting story to follow.  Venice has no proven RB headed in to spring which will be a first for a long time.  They have produced several Dairy Farmers player of the years in that position.  They also will have a massive offensive line with 2 three year starters who return as well as some stud young kids.  They will probably average around 6'4 295 on the line which is huge for Venice standards.  I just wonder if this will change before the start of the season.  I still fell like someone will show up.
    • Are you still talking to me??  Thought I was pretty clear for you not to waste your breath on this subject matter, but somehow you are missing the point.  Teacher unions have limited power in FL because the candidates they overwhelming support keep losing.  If they had won, the teacher union vote had a lot to do with it and would be wielding that power.  Osceola county which isn't a GOP stronghold during the past two national elections had the journalism students for the OHS monthly newsletter (Kowboy Jake) interview the faculty as to their political leanings.  A sample of about 30 teachers that were interviewed were voting as follows:  25 D vs 5 R.  Enough said.
