FLA TOP 10

I would if I thought they were but I don't know that they are the best in Fl. Look at these national powerhouse schools in other states, parents move their kids from other states to those schools from all over just to play somewhere that they can get national acclaim. Heck it happens around our state with parents moving into another district just so their son can be on a team with more talent or better coaching. I'm sure there are kids at Columbia whose parents moved them there to be part of that program and the parent just have a long commute to work. By the way this doesn't have anything to do with a school recruiting players just parents doing whats best for their kid.

Yeah we have had a few that have moved to be here but if we did as much as img they would be crying foul and saying we are cheating, and truthfully they need to either make a national playoffs or stop with these "fictional" champions

If Columbia did as much as IMG they would not be eligible for post-season play and Independent.  - Just like IMG.

IMG opted out of the FHSAA system playoffs because they wanted to play a highly competitive national teams versus locally which would do very little for them.  IMG is considered an Independent team.  I believe there are 80 - 100 Independent teams in FL.  That said, should we not include ANY Independent teams?

And I don't like img because they show what's wrong with sports now. People would rather join a super team then to build a team from the bottom to the top, what happened to worst to first and making school history, not just high school, you see this in college and in nba and mlb, would be like that in nfl had it not been for the salary cap

IMG doesn't recruit to be good they recruit to make athletes really good so they can come back and train with them when they are pros. IMG is strictly a farm in other words

Are you even going to respond to the national playoff I mentioned?

Yes, I will respond to the question below but I don't understand the question...what are you asking?

Ok I see the point but tell me that no one would make them number 1 team in nation?

I can tell you that more that there are more national polls that DO  include IMG than do not include IMG.

Do you think that a national playoff format after the state championships are played would give us a better view on who deserves to be named "national champion"?

As a coach that has lost a couple of players to IMG I can tell you that the Florida kids that go to IMG are not concerned with winning a championship.  They are going there to be in a collegiate atmosphere whole still in school.  They go to school 4 hours a day.  Dedicate the rest to their craft.  They even have them take classes on mental toughness and preparedness.  IMG is a factory, if you can afford the 67k, awesome.  If you can earn a scholarship, awesome.  They can not recruit every kid in Florida, so I can live with the few they do steal, and they do not pretend to be anything other than what they are.

yeah. IMG recruits more out of state players then they do florida players, the majority of this season's roster are from Ohio, Texas and California

    • If Rockledge keeps their interim coach as the HC after spring they will keep the players they have and continue to get more. They will be a very solid team that will eventually challenge Cocoa as the top in Brevard in a few seasons. Eau Gallie will be scrappy for sure but they did lose key players transferring out and brought in a couple as well. I could see them losing a few games
    • “Knowing that we are committing [rules] violations and nothing is being done set off alarms for me." Quote from the former (as of a week or so ago) baseball coach at the high school in question (in the article at the beginning of this thread).   Admittedly, he was not one of the football coaches, but between he and his wife (who was the principal of the school), they seemed to have a lot of insider information.  Note also, that he uses the word "we," referring to the school he was coaching.  Do I have any direct knowledge of cheating?   Nope.   But when I see this much smoke, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that there is some fire burning in there somewhere.
    • For example if Class 1 has 20 teams eligible to move up, but class 2 only has 15 teams eligible to move down then all 15 move down, and the 15 teams in class 1 with the highest winning percentage would move up.
    • You could even bump teams up and down based on winning percentage.   After 2 years, teams with a .750 or higher would have to move up a class with the cap still being 125 teams per class. Teams with the highest winning percentage above .750 would move up first and so on.    Same with winning percentages of .250 or worse. They would move down with the worst percentages moving down first
    • If you cut the classes to 4, that’s 125 teams each class. 500 teams. The rest are independent SSAC teams etc.    125 teams divided into 16 districts is 7-8 teams per district. No issue. Travel and scheduling would be easy breezy. Most games would be local and keep the rivalries fresh.    Playoffs would be an animal. The districts would be so big, and the classes so small that it would be highly unlikely that a garbage team makes the playoffs. Maybe one here or there but nothing like it is now.    Classify by enrollment. Maybe multiply privates by 1.5.    Let’s figure it out
