  • Jones got boat raced at Duncanville.  I had Duncanville but not by 20+.  Geeze.
  • Edgewater with a big win over a national power
  • AHP is too good this year.  They have a 230 lb monster at RB to boot.  Nobody can tackle him.
  • Is Miami Palmetto down a bit this year?  0-2 start albeit a tough schedule.
  • Venice with a big bounce back win

Regarding the Jones game, it was similar to their game with MNW. At the half Duncanville only led 17-14. Jones melted down in the second half. They are a good team but seems to lack depth. I am sure the long trip did not do it any favors.

Don’t get too excited about Edgewater’s defeat of Don Bosco. The last 4 years the Ironman’s record is 23-18….Very interested in Eagles game vs West Orange!!!!

PBC had a pretty good road win vs Lakewood! How good are the Broncos? We’ll get a better idea as Lakewood hosts Homestead this weekend…..

Anyone give Cocoa a chance vs STA? I have Raiders -13

Lions vs the Bulls: over/under 80? Bulls -7?

BTW vs Central: Rockets ground the Tornadoes. -17?

Jesuit win streak crashes at Columbus . Explorers-10?

Coconut Creek 3-0 , haven’t given up a point( see opponents lol). Western Wildcats, 2-0 come to town Friday. Cats -16?

Fleming Island got anyone’s attention yet?

Fleming Island?  After wins over Clay and Rickards?  I'd hold off until they get to some of the tougher teams on their schedule, although 4S doesn't appear too strong in the Jacksonville area.

Congrats to Dillard for picking Niceville over Vanguard.  Eagles are very tough to beat at home.

Of course agree. Not a top 25. Just out the gates quick.

Palmetto actually has a decent squad. they Just have no qb which is crazy to me because you had a whole summer & spring to figure that out

I would be surprised if Edgewater does not beat West Orange by a similar margin to the Don Bosco game. Too many weapons on both sides of the ball.

That’s what I hear.  Well every year pretty much. Maybe this is their year….

In 2019 and 2020, they took St. Thomas Aquinas to the wire and could easily have been 2-0 instead of 0-2 against them. My feeling is that this Edgewater team is on par with those two. I am not necessarily predicting a state title, but I am predicting a deep run.

Last year they were young at several positions. They brought back most of last year's starters many of whom are much improved including the QB.

Yeah I went at it with a coach from Edgewater on SS. He text 3 paragraphs on how they outplayed Aquinas & they did, stats were definitely on his side….BUT Aquinas outscored them(both years). And that will ALWAYS be the bottom line. That’s the ONLY criteria that will make 1 team the State champion & the other the runnerup…….

Pine Forrest outplayed Jesuit for 3/4 of the title game last year. Had double digit leads.  They lost ‘ & Jesuit will always be the state champ of 2021. Almost, woulda, & coulda never has won a game…….

Jullian, I am not arguing that they should have won. They did not and that's that. What I am arguing is that they had enough talent to win and that is reflected in the close nature of both games.

Similarly, for this year I am not arguing that Edgewater is the uncrowned 3M state champ. What I am arguing is that I expect they have a very good shot to get to the title game and possibly win it.

West Orange is a solid team, but I would be surprised if they made it to the title game. No hate, I just don't think they have all the pieces to do so.

With that said, if they prove me wrong and beat Edgewater or keep the game within a touchdown, I will readily admit that I either underestimated WO or overestimated Edgewater, or both.

As always, time will tell.

Heard ya DarterBlue. No argument. No doubt they’re talented & have been for the last 4/5 years.
You know WO pretty well probably, having played Apopka last week. Agree Eagles favored by minimum-14.

Edgewater has Cedric Baxter; 6'2", 210 lbs; possibly the best RB in the country. I have a lot of respect for West Orange, but Baxter is almost unstoppable and will carry Edgewater to victory.

He can be stopped, but you have to tackle him before he gets in stride, or you need multiple guys to tackle him. When in full stride, he's a freight train: very difficult to stop.

    • Agree with what you think mostly, except I'd use a 4 year average and only move the top team in each region up and bottom team in each region down based on that average. I think 4 years gives a better overall picture of a program.
    • What this means is we will soon see one of two scenarios play out in the coming years: 1) A subset of students will eventually not be able to attend a "good" school because there is simply no space for them due to there being a scarcity of "good" schools 2) Assuming compulsory attendance remains a thing, we will see longtime elite private high schools nosedive in performance. The schools can not perform magic: unmotivated, unprepared often defiant students will NOT be good students no matter what the school does/doesn't do. And oftentimes these sorts of students do have parents who will do the absolute bare minimum needed to get the kid into a private school through the new rules. Anyone who genuinely believes that the schools with higher test scores automatically do a better job of teaching the kids than schools with lower scores is an imbecile.
    • Here’s a scenario that will cook your noodle. There’s an 11th grader at a D rated public school. Lives in a bad neighborhood with a single mom and a bunch of siblings. Dirt poor, and struggle just to eat and keep the lights on. He can’t get a part time job to help out because he has to watch his little siblings while his mom works.    The school he plays for has poor attendance at the football games, and is always bad. He is a super star for them and tons of new bandwagon fans start to attend the games because they are good and he is the reason. School is making tons of new money.    Season is over. Back to reality for him. School year is over. Summer hits. Some “runner” on behalf of the rich local private school “offers” his mom, him, and all his siblings a way out of poverty. New place to live, food on the table, and an opportunity to get a quality education and maximize exposure for all the top colleges to see. A once in a lifetime opportunity to get his family out of poverty. What say you? Does he say no and continue to barely survive, or does he take the deal?
    • To make it short and sweet. I am against breaking the rules. If there is a rule that seems outdated or unfair then it should be amended/changed/repealed with majority rule
    • I am a huge proponent of innocent until proven guilty, and due process with credible evidence. I support a credible investigation, and not some witch hunt by disgruntled folks both near and far from the program. Let’s hope they can get to the bottom of this quickly
