Okay I'm not sure how I missed that but I'll get it corrected on my ranking document so that it will be right on next week

Ok I just brought it up because they beat a really good team so I didn’t know if you wanted to put them higher. They have 2 good wins as good as any 2 other wins outside of maybe the top couple teams.

They were one of the highest risers in the poll this week, I'm impressed with their resume so far

As long as they keep winning they will keep climbing

I think your rankings are good, overall. I would make a few changes. But that is to be expected, as individuals tend to have differences of opinion. I do agree that Seminole is the top team in Orlando Metro until results(if they do) indicate otherwise.

A couple examples. I think you are underestimating Lincoln. I think you are overestimating Mainland, I think Winter Park should be in the top 50, for now, probably in the bottom 5 top 50 teams. I also Lake Minneola should be ranked in the bottom of the top 10 in their class, and at least on the bubble in the top 50, if not at the bottom of the top 50 itself. They will likely beat Mainland this Friday. This is not a wish on my part, as I am rooting for Mainland to win the game. However, having watched film of both teams, I am leaning Lake Minneola.

I think Lincoln vs Bartram and Lake Minneola vs Mainland (both this week) should help correct a few things or at least justify the placement

I was impressed with Winter Park over Boone the way they did but I want to see a little more first because with their schedule if they start struggling with the weaker teams I have to drop them quickly

Winter Park's biggest problem from a ranking standpoint is strength of schedule. North Gwinnet was supposed to rectify that. However, it turns out they are down this year. Now I don't think WP knew that when they scheduled the game, but it is what it is. I think they run the table and finish 10-0 in the regular season. Then we will see whether they are a contender or they just took advantage of a weak schedule. They do have a quick score offense that is difficult to stop.

Regarding Lincoln, Mainland, Lake Minneola and Bartram Trail, this Friday will tell us a lot.

Apopka is not the fifth to best team at all. Sorry Darter but you have at least two to three losses coming. Your d is awesome but your offense is lousy and has zero chance against Edgewater or Seminole. Looks like a jv team . What happened darter to the offense .

The Offense is a work in progress. We have a shot at Edgewater. We have very little chance against Seminole. Check with me at the end of the season. The team may or may not be significantly better.

Winter Park is loaded with experienced seniors at the skill positions on their starting offense and defense. Their offense can score quickly, as seen in their last game with Boone. With 1:10 left in 1st half, they drove about 80 yards without any difficulty in about 5 plays. The defense is aggressive and hits hard; WR's start looking over their shoulders waiting for the hit to come rather than focusing on catching the ball. The DL is aggressive. Where WP is vulnerable is on the DL against the run if the opponent has a big OL; the WP OL is also a little undersized and that can make establishing the running game tough against a big DL. Depth at QB is something most teams face. Developing the 2nd QB is a must. He's getting playing time in the 2nd half, but it takes game experience to develop confidence and a rhythm with receivers. He should get plenty of playing time in the next few games.

    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
    • It's possible that they find their stride by week 5, but at the moment we just don't have the on-paper talent to compete with teams like Miami NW, IMG National, Cocoa, or Bishop Verot. If Venice can find a way to go 7-3 with that schedule I would be happy
