What is the biggest upset so far? In no order. I can’t do a poll for some reason so just post the number.

1. Baldwin over Baker County

2. Port Charlotte over Manatee

3. Bay over Mosley

4. Suwannee over North Marion

5. Wekiva over West Orange

6. Seminole Ridge over Glades Central

7. none of the above (post pick)

Union County over Columbia

I would say Suwannee over North Marion likely bigger upset because at least with Columbia vs Union County both teams are actually good

Suwannee is terrible and yet still found a way to beat an unbeaten North Marion team, I can't remember the last time Suwannee beat a good team? Maybe the 90s?

That's definitely a shocker and unexpected

That is unbelievable! Evans has talent, but I am surprised they took out a solid Lake Brantley team, as they had not shown the ability to do so in prior games this season. They gave up 51 points to Seminole for crying out loud. Now I am not suggesting that LB is in Seminole's class talent wise, but they should have been at least 17 to 21 points better than Evans.

If you look at the national rankings, Palm Harbor University over St Pete High is the biggest upset of the year so far.

national number 6,026 over national number 3,452

LB is ranked 999 and Evans is 3,418

Osceola at 5,664 losing to Seminole at 8,160 is up there too

First off, on a percentage basis, the LB Evans game was the bigger upset. Second, you and I both know that those, so called, National Rankings are worth nothing. I actually have more respect for your Florida top 25 that you post here, for at least you are knowledgeable, if biased, where Florida football is concerned.

Hey I was at that PHU-SPHS game!  Yeah it's a big upset locally for sure because nobody has come close to stopping that St Pete QB other than PHU.  He was like Mike Vick out there, impossible to get down and throwing missiles while on a full run.  I still cant believe PHU kept him in check but every drop back was hold your breath, especially when he threw it 60 yards downfield with just a flick of his wrist.  I should add SPHS to the surprise teams list because they are definitely a surprise 5-1 this year.  They better hope their QB doesnt get hurt though because they are literally a one-man team.

Will you be making the trip to Steinbrenner tomorrow with the team? If so, come introduce yourself. I'll be the coach doing all the goofy hand signals lol

Edit:  I will swing by and say hi.  It isn't often you actually get to meet a fellow forum poster in person!

Biggest one to me: Sarasota beating Palmetto was a shocker. Sarasota proved themselves in a big way. The Sailors are back and here to stay!

Union County over Columbia was a head-scratcher.

Parrish Community completely blowing away Bayshore was a major disappointment, especially considering that Bayshore was "supposed to" be somewhat competitive this year.

Port Charlotte over Manatee was a lot of fun!

Suwannee over North Marion had my jaw on the floor.

Miami Central beating IMG was a joy to watch!

Sarasota has been building for a couple years so not such a shocker to me plus Palmetto (Bradenton) is a bit down this year.  PCHS over Manatee was a shocker to me though!

    • Just wait till spring is over and the top RB in the area will take his talent to 1 Indian Ave.
    • This will be an interesting story to follow.  Venice has no proven RB headed in to spring which will be a first for a long time.  They have produced several Dairy Farmers player of the years in that position.  They also will have a massive offensive line with 2 three year starters who return as well as some stud young kids.  They will probably average around 6'4 295 on the line which is huge for Venice standards.  I just wonder if this will change before the start of the season.  I still fell like someone will show up.
    • Are you still talking to me??  Thought I was pretty clear for you not to waste your breath on this subject matter, but somehow you are missing the point.  Teacher unions have limited power in FL because the candidates they overwhelming support keep losing.  If they had won, the teacher union vote had a lot to do with it and would be wielding that power.  Osceola county which isn't a GOP stronghold during the past two national elections had the journalism students for the OHS monthly newsletter (Kowboy Jake) interview the faculty as to their political leanings.  A sample of about 30 teachers that were interviewed were voting as follows:  25 D vs 5 R.  Enough said.
    • You missed the point of my union post. Teacher unions in strong union states have power. Florida unions have zero. They cant strike and the school board can implement a contract without the unions approval. Florida unions are not preventing any raise in Florida. The state has attacked a straw man here.
