John Carroll Catholic (Fort Pierce) @ Trinity Catholic (Ocala) - 3rd Round of Playoffs

Hmmmmm. The only other time the Celtics met the Golden Rams was in the 2020 playoffs. The Celtics won 48-0. The Rams had about the same record as they do now and the Celtics had struggled through much of that season. I think that both teams this Friday may be on the same level quality wise. From the videos I've seem the Rams have a pretty darn good QB in Maehl, a couple of decent WR's, and a tough RB in Colebrook (17 TDs). Can't see any real weaknesses. IMO the Celtics just have to play the game they are capable of and the night will end up successfully.

Ocalla Trinity Catholic is another team that hit the class lotto. TC won’t win a game by less than 21 points

Is John Carroll not that competetive? I know little to nothing about them this year. Although in a so so district we did play some pretty good higher classification teams out of district. Especially giving CCC their only loss and losing to FSU High by 2 points on their field in the first game of the season. ;)

SOS def goes to Celtics. Rams had 1 bad game vs Cardinal Newman. Perhaps TC vs Raines. Nod goes to the Celts here.

We do have a pretty darn good Sophomore QB Preston Wright, don't we? Guy makes this team run exceptionally well. I trust him and Beard to get the job done against any team.

As I suspected JCC (Ft Pierce) gave the Celtics all they could handle. Rams have 3 or 4 D-1 commit seniors. All tied up in the 4th quarter and then Wright and Beard came through against a very tough Ram defense in the last couple of minutes. Final 22-10 Celtics. Championship will be against another pretty good team, First Baptist Academy (Naples). I think they are better than their name would indicate. QB has nearly 1800 yds passing and their lead RB has just under 1,000 yds. However, they did lose to Pahokee and an Ohio team Chardon. ;)

They have a good WR, I think he’s committed to Clemson. They’re a good team, not that explosive (besides the WR), not going to beat themselves and make adjustments throughout the game.

First Baptist has a minimum 7 hour bus trip to Gene Cox Stadium. The Celtics have less than 3 hours. Since the game starting time is 1 pm on Saturday I'm assuming that the FBA team and most of the Naples community will be staying overnight on Friday and maybe even Saturday. Weather report for Saturday is clear skies, sunny, with tempertures around 67 degrees at 1 pm. Perfect football weather. I've watched FBA on video and they are a pretty good well disciplined team. They played a good 11-2 Ohio team Chardon, in Ohio, very close and should have won that game.  If the Celtics can stop receiving unecessary personal foul penalties maybe the opposing team would not have an easier time than they should. The Celtics certainly have all of the capabilities to defeat any team a lot easier than they sometimes do. :(

    • I was actually itching to treat some wager some money on some sports matches that are happening above-board now. I wanted to let you guys identify that I did spot what I ruminate on to be the kindest site in the USA. If you fall short of to get in on the spirit, check it out-moded: https://pokeronline.guru/online-gambling/
    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
